Produce Highlight It’s Spring! So Get Your Fresh On Piles of fresh produce are coming to Mazopiya in May. Berries. Stone fruit. Fresh greens. They’ll all be ripe and ready for the tasting. But you have to know how to spot good fruit. First, don’t let a few wrinkles scare you. Mangoes and grapefruit that appear somewhat dehydrated and shriveled on the surface are actually pumped full of concentrated, flavorful juice. Spotty, slightly soft organic pears? They’ll taste buttery and sweet, the way they’re supposed to be. Organic soft fruit and kiwi taste best when they’re a little wrinkled, too. Not sure by looking at them? Try sniffing them. Smell is often the best indicator of quality when it comes to produce. Fruit with a powerful aroma likely is tasty, juicy, and ready for you to enjoy. Our gluten-free products will be highlighted throughout Mazopiya this month, following the theme of our Brown Bag Lunch Series and other classes in May. Now go ahead, indulge! We’ve got your covered in the fresh produce section at Mazopiya.
