Our Mission

We REACH out to our congregation, community, and the world. We TEACH the word of God as provided in the Holy-Scripture.

We SEND our members and missionaries to be witnesses to God’s grace and His promise of eternal life.

Worship Services

Sunday at Shalimar

Traditions: 8AM & 11AM

Meet us in the Sanctuary as we celebrate through the rich traditions of our faith. Such as hymns led by organ and piano, seasonal vestments, and Traditional Methodist liturgy. Our Chancel Choir leads the 11AM service.

Connect: 9:30AM

Join us in the Sanctuary as we engage in a fourfold services of gathering, praise, service of the Word, Holy Communion with candle stations of prayer, and sending forth. Worship is a blend of contemporary praise songs and upbeat hymns.

Freedom: 11:07AM

Located in the Family Life Center Gym as we come together and worship through modern music, Fellowship time, and listen to an inspirational message in a contemporary atmosphere.

He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.” - Matthew 13:31-32 NIV

Philip’s Focus

Peggy Noonan once was quoted as saying “America is in play.” What did she mean? My thought is that she was referring to Americans being starved for leadership, and how eager they are to follow someone who can lead to a greater future. My question is why not the message of Jesus in times of such confusion, anger, and hope for the future? After all, we have the greatest message of all to offer in such times.

What great message do we have to share? The message that God loves the world! He sent Jesus to save the world! Jesus died on the cross for our redemption! Jesus has risen from the tomb and has defeated the Evil one along with sin, evil, and death. For the Church, this is the good news we must share with a world starving for hope.

We do have so much turmoil in our world today. Our denomination is in some turmoil. Yet, despite the turmoil, this message of Jesus is the reason we exist. The denominational issues come and go but Jesus is forever! Long-term the church will be fine. In fact, out of turmoil historically God brings revival to His Church. This is my hope and prayer. I ask for your help to not allow denomination issues distract us from the living and sharing this good news of Jesus.

The church will emerge stronger through this time. Dietrich Bonhoeffer writes about how God refines the church for His higher Kingdom purposes…

“It is not we who build. No man builds the church but Christ alone. Whoever is minded to build the church is surely on the way to destroying it, for he will build a temple to idols without wishing it or knowing it. We must confess; He builds. We must proclaim; He builds. We must pray to Him that He may build. We do not know His plan. We cannot see whether He is building or pulling down. It may be that the times which by human standards are times of collapse are for Him great times of construction. It may be that the times which from a human point of view are great times for the Church are times when it is pulled down. It is a great comfort which Christ gives to His Church and you confess, preach, bear witness to Me, and I alone will build where it pleases me.”

These are important times to build the Church! In times of challenge and trial, the Church can be that “city shining on a hill” that Jesus referred to in the Sermon on the Mount. We let our light shine anytime we lead someone to Christ, make disciples, and grow as disciples. When we grow in reaching new disciples and deepen the growth of current disciples we expand the ministry of Christ to world! In doing so we build the church! Let us rise in these important times we live to build up the Church by making disciples and offering Christ to the world!
