ANNOUNCEMENTS & ARTICLES
“Easily Accessible”
Grace and Peace to you all and Happy 4th from our family to yours. Stephanie, the girls, and I are excited to be here and we are looking forward to getting to know the great people of Shalimar UMC. On July 1st, Alan and I began our new appointments, and we are looking forward to gathering in worship and serving the kingdom of God for the transformation of the world.
I’m excited to be leading the 11:07 Freedom Service and excited to announce that our young adult’s class will be kicking back up on Wednesday July 26th studying the book of Romans.
The scripture passage for the “Freedom Service” will take place in Matthew 11:25-30. This is a pivotal moment for Jesus as he travels throughout the city proclaiming the good news, appointing the disciples, fending off the judgment of the Pharisees, and extending the invitation to all who are weary and carry heavy burden with a certain rest that only God can provide. It is through this gift of Christ’s invitation in which we can receive spiritual rest in God. Christ extends the invitation to all and his invitation is easily accessible through the people we meet, through the many entrances of his church, and through the sacrament of Holy Communion where all are invited to the table. As the love of Christ is easily accessible to all his children, I challenge you to exemplify his love to others as we go forth from this Sunday and throughout the week. I look forward to seeing you all on Sunday and may the everlasting love of Christ dwell in your hearts forevermore.
Peace to you all, John

Fun and Fellowship at Joyful Place
Laughter and joy go hand in hand, and we have tons of it at respite. Many think that with our friends (participants) having dementia, the respite day may be bleak and boring. Nothing could be farther from the truth. We create an atmosphere that is full of love, action and surprises. A picture tells a thousand words…. what story do you think these pictures are saying?
