Come for a journey in THE GOOD LIFE with Splash of Joy 1 as we study AMOS by Jennifer Rothschild. AMOS is often called a prophet of doom, and when you read his prophecy, that nickname seems to fit. On the surface, his message doesn’t sound like a happy formula for the good life. However, every condemnation he declares serves as an invitation, a call to “seek God and live” (Amos 5:4).
In this 8 session study, you’ll be invited to live assured, faithful, chosen, humble, justly, prayerfully and hopeful. This kind of living brings peace and true prosperity for us and those around us. Amos promotes the God life, and the God life is the good life!!

SURPLUS/(DEFICIT): CONTRIBUTIONS
We are getting geared up for our FALL ARTS & CRAFTS and are asking for your support in gathering items for our creations.
We gladly welcome second - hand items. Canning rings can be rusted, we are going to paint them. 2 x 4’s can be cut to lengths ranging from 5” to 12”, and 4 x 4’s can be cut to lengths from 12” up to 24”. Please bring wood pre-cut as we have no way to cut items here. Clean out the shed and bring us your old, salvaged, and reclaimed wood. We will turn it into a work of art!
Items can be dropped off at the Cross Corner Fellowship Hall during respite hours, or contact Leigh, respite director to coordinate.
As always, if you’d like to Joy in on the joy as a volunteer and come create with us, we would love to have you.
Be JOYFUL always!

DID YOU KNOW? SMILE! YOU’RE ON >>> CAMERA.
WE HAVE A NEW ENSEMBLE!
INTRODUCING: “Nothin’ But Treble”
We are very excited to let you know that there is a new women’s barbershop quintet at SUMC! Our members are: Laurel Tovreasinging the high tenor; Karen Cardinez and Heather Lang singing the lead, which is most often the melody; Lisa Given singing baritone; and Annette Klabuhn singing bass.
The idea of this group has been on our minds for quite some time. We are so thrilled that God has brought the idea to fruition.
We won’t be singing every month, at least to start. This is very new to the five of us, so it takes a great deal of practice to get just one song congregation-ready. We are searching for music, so our songs are a bit limited right now. As we begin our ministry, we will be limiting ourselves to singing at the 8:00 and 11:00 services on the Sundays we are scheduled.
As you can imagine, a group of five relies heavily on blend. We are not currently looking for new members, but that doesn’t mean that we won’t be growing in the future.
We are so looking forward to helping lead in worship and ringing some chords.
