Freedom Worship Team
Join us for an evening at Shalimar UMC as our missions team hosts “Starry Starry Night” – a benefit dinner and auction illuminating our commitment to various missional connections of the church. This event will be held on Friday, May 17th, 2024, from 6 pm to 9 pm, shining a spotlight on all the impactful local missions we passionately support. Tickets are $40 each, tables are $350 and can be bought on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings in the FLC Lobby.
Church family, please join us next Sunday at 11:07 in the Freedom Service as we celebrate the completion of this year’s Confirmation Class. These six students have been meeting since February, learning the basics of our faith as they prepare to make this declaration in their personal faith journeys. We would love for you to witness this moment and to witness to them with your presence.
Beginning June 2, 2024, there will be a change in our Sunday Morning Schedule. We will be going down to three services and the schedule is as follows: 8 am will be a new service called “Upward Worship” which will feature worship from our Connect Team with traditional elements. Sunday School will now be at 9:15 am, Freedom will now be at 10:37 am and the 11 am Traditions Worship will remain the same. Thank you for your understanding in this change, and we look forward to seeing what God does through these changes.

During the glow of Jesus’ Resurrection and the Holy Spirit Fire of Pentecost, we are lifting up specific ways your giving to God through the Church is changing lives as we carry out Jesus’ Mission.
Facilities at Shalimar Church - This week, we wish to highlight one of the most important areas of ministry that your faithful giving to God through our Church supports. It happens to be an area of ministry that goes almost unnoticed unless the air is too hot or too cold, there’s a leak, or there aren’t sufficient chairs for everyone to have a seat. Special people like Tony Mallini, Gerald Batton, Deb Steele and the Board of Trustees, led by Joe Kocanowski, are all very active working to provide space that is safe, clean, comfortable, and appropriate for every other ministry we have to take place. This week, we focus on the ministry of providing the place to be the Body of Christ. It requires electricity, computers, water, and electronic equipment to assist with worship, along with many, other items, and don’t forget insurance. Your financial support allows events to happen in the locations that they happen as we carry out our mission to bring people to know and experience Jesus’ love.
All children (ages 4 as of September 1, 2023) – completed 5th grade are invited to join us for Vacation Bible School, “To Mars and Beyond” this summer, Monday, June 3 - Friday, June 7.
At “To Mars and Beyond” VBS, children will enjoy an interactive, energizing, Bible-based good time as we explore where God’s power can take us. They will become Voyagers and discover how to serve God and God’s mission for their lives.
After a high-energy Opening Assembly time, Voyagers will make their way to interactive stations that will reveal a Power Launcher (key learnings) to equip them for an active life with God. They will also discover our Vector Verse (Bible memory verse), Ephesians 3:20 - Glory to God, who is able to do far beyond all that we could ask or imagine by his power at work within us! Voyagers will expand on their discoveries by making their own art projects at the Craft Station, singing new songs at the Music Station, exploring the wonders of creation at the Science Station, playing games at the Recreation Station, and enjoying tasty treats at the Snack Station. Along the way, they will hear about our mission project and respond to a call for action!
Register your child or participant today at https://tinyurl.com/49k56whv or scan the QR Code posted above. The deadline to register is Friday, May 31st! We hope you will come Blast Off on an Epic Adventure with us!
A big thank you to the Ladies Auxiliary at the VFW # 11367. You brought us a great deal of JOY and a very welcomed donation during your visit with us. We look forward to having you back soon.
Our ministry would not be possible without thoughtful donors. Please consider donating your time, talents, prayers, money, or in-kind donations to help support our respite ministry.
Be Joyful Always, Leigh
