Join us Friday, September 6, at 7 pm, at Choctaw High School for some football! We are once again sponsoring the Style marchers, and we will be “taking over” this night. Our name/logo will be prominently displayed on the drum major stand, and we will be announced during the 1st quarter and after their halftime performance. Ben Savage will also be guest conducting the band during the 3rd quarter. Come help us fill the stands so our presence is felt as we seek to fulfill our mission of being a beacon of hope, love, and support for everyone. Be sure to find Chris Bennett by the memorial brick wall in front of the stadium for a Church T-Shirt with our new name and logo!
The Church at Shalimar has been extremely blessed to have Ben Savage, his gifts and passion, and the wonderful blessings of his spouse Angelina. Serving our church and community for eight years, we are called to celebrate and give thanks to Ben, Angelina, and Almighty God. Please plan to be part of a special reception for the Savages on Sunday, September 22nd at noon in our FLC as Ben steps away from Staff Ministry Leadership.
Sunday, September 15th, The Church at Shalimar will hold special services at 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM to warmly greet The Reverend Chad Ozee as our new Worship Pastor! “We are Shalimar“ Sundays are special because all come together to Worship as a church family. Reverend Ozee will be preaching this Sunday on his first Sunday at our church. We will also have enhanced fellowship time in the FLC on this special day and the opportunity to meet Pastor Chad.
Share your love, time, and talents and in return …… receive JOY. Below, read what some of our volunteers share about their time at Joyful Place.
Volunteering at respite gives me joy that I can help others I’m at peace being able to do this in honor of my mother who also had Alzheimer ’s.

Flower arrangements and roses can be given to the glory of God and displayed each week in the Sanctuary worship services. Reservations for altar flowers can be made using the reservation book in the Sanctuary Narthex or by calling the Church Office at (850) 651–0721

Last week, after evaluating multiple proposals, Trustees signed a contract to replace the SUMC signs that were taken down a few weeks ago. New signs should be in place in about two weeks. Replacing these signs is not in the 2024 budget, therefore we are seeking individuals who would like to support this project by making a donation in excess of their regular giving. Total cost of the signs is about $7000. To make a donation, contact the church office.
On Sunday Mornings, we have a few individuals who take time out of their morning to pick up folks from Brookdale and The Meridian Assisted Living Facilities to attend church services. Each Week, Keith Latimer leads up a team for the job and would love additional drivers or riders to help. No special license is needed. It only takes a short amount of time to train for operating the lift for a wheelchair. Contact Keith at keith_e_l@Yahoo. com or contact the Church Office. This opportunity would not be possible without your help! Your giving allows for our church vehicles to be properly maintained to make things like these happen!
Ladies, I hope you will consider joining us as we engage in Christian fellowship and godly growth through Bible study.
Splash of Joy will begin this 8-session study on September 4, 2024, at 9:30 in room 207 of the FLC. To reserve a book or if you have questions, please contact Cathie Buckman at 850-797-6936 or cathiebuckman@gmail.com. We look forward to welcoming you.
