Dear Friends of Shalimar UMC:

The Holy Spirit is moving through Shalimar UMC. We began this year with 21 days of worship, fasting, and seeking God's will through our church. Our lay leadership and staff are continuing in prayer to be fully present to where God is leading Shalimar UMC!

Shalimar UMC is leading people to Jesus which is evident by a growing number of baptisms and professions of faith this year. Our church is making disciples who are impacting our community through deeds of shalom. We have also begun responding with overwhelming generosity in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael. We are a generous church and we seek to grow in this generosity.

Can you imagine even greater works of God emerging through our church? Will you accept the challenge of the "WILL YOU GROW?" campaign for 2019? The upcoming challenge is simple: • Will you seek to yield your will to commit to God's will? • Will you have family conversations and pray about your 2019 commitment? • Will you be present on November 18 and offer your 2019 commitment to God?

Let us all seek to prayerfully answer the question "WILL YOU GROW?" over the next four weeks. Our four weeks of teaching from the Bible will inspire your response. If everyone says "YES" to the challenge of the "WILL YOU GROW? campaign, 2019 will overflow with God's blessings for ministry. One of my favorite passages is, "God is able to do exceedingly more than we can think or imagine;' from Ephesians 3:20. I am anticipating this happening in 2019! Shalom,

Will

You can grow•••will you? Will is a much different word than Can. We must choose to grow -to trust in God. Proverbs 3:5-10 promises us that if we trust God and seek Him, he will provide us with overflowing resources. When our will is committed to God's will our lives will overflow.

You

You can talk•••will you?

You focuses on each of us individually. Each one of us has the responsibility to follow God's commands. Deuteronomy 6:1-9 instructs us to pass on everything God has taught to the next generation-loving God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.

Grow?

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and Jean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Grow is a challenge to everyone in the church to take the next

Proverbs 3:5-6

You can accept•••will you?

step in his or her spiritual life. Psalm 92 challenges us to see God's great works and flourish in our spiritual lives through growth. When our people grow spiritually our church will thrive.
