The Selective Service Act By: Shane Cassidy and Yesenia Montanez January 5, 2015
Who, What, and When ✤
The selective service act, also know as the draft, was passed on May 18, 1917
✤
Woodrow Wilson was the president who signed the act into law
✤
The selective service required United States men between the ages of 21-30 to sign up for the military
Why It's Important ✤
It's important because it is what drafted the men into the United States military giving the U.S a large advantage because of all the men that are now in the military. It was the first time ever there was a draft. It is still in effect today but not enforced as much.
