Welcome to the 19th Annual Blue Collar Bull Sale.

The Blue Collar group hopes that all is well with you and your family. While this marks our 19th sale it is with heavy hearts, we charge on without one of the founding members, Mr. Jack Burkell. Jack was always there quietly doing his thing. He never said much always doing more listening than talking. As I always say, “God gave you two ears and one mouth, so you hear twice as much as you say.” Jack exemplified this. If he said something you better perk up and listen cause it was likely a real gem, especially if he was talking about cattle. He forgot more about cattle than I have ever known. He seemed happier for others success than his own. Jack also had an infectious giggle. If you got that giggle, you knew you said a “real funny”. Another valuable lesson that we, (especially Amy) learnt from him is never let him pour your drinks. Could be trouble. We will miss you at this year’s sale Jack but know you will be there supporting us all and hoping everyone does well.

We all know that the cattle market is at all time highs. Culled prices are mind blowing. But we all say the prices are where they need to be for sure. The prices of land, iron…are skyrocketing too. Hopefully when we look at the bottom line we are better off and not making more and spending more. LOL!

I guess with “climate change” this winter has kicked the crap out of most of us. However, when you look at the history of the world there have been at least 5 ice ages where the glaciers retreated, and things warmed up and then the earth cooled. I guess that billions of years ago they did not pay enough carbon tax to remedy the climate change then. Insert eye roll emoji.

Lots of snow (which is moisture I know), lengthy cold snaps which made calving and tractor startin a challenge. Broken hydraulic hoses, frozen water bowls… but we all persevere for the love of what we do. Most days anyway. LOL!

Now while you chase those record prices you know full well that compromising quality will not secure them. To do that you still need to produce the best steers, heifers… This is where we at the Blue Collar Group can help. We believe that we are offering some of the best bulls and heifers in the industry for you to advance your program with great replacement females and market topping feeder calves.

Throughout the catalogue you will find an entire host of information to aid you in your bull or heifer selection. There are footnotes, pictures, pedigrees, weights, sire and dam information… Videos are online but please feel free to contact any one of us for more information or better yet stop by our farms to view the bulls prior to the sale.

The Blue Collar Bull Sale Group would like to thank the following for their contribution to the success of our sale:

• Everyone who attended last year’s sale, our bidders and buyers.

• All our friends and family who helped us before, during and after the sale.

• All our advertisers-We do business with all of them and recommend you give them a try, too.

• To Castlerock Marketing, Colton McIntosh, Levi Hull, Jonathon Karsin and the Heartland Staff’s and all our friends for their work on our sale.

We believe that we have a solid and supportive team who can work to make sure that you are well taken care of and your livestock needs are met. Please contact any member of the Blue Collar Group or the sales staff with any questions to help you select the animals to meet your needs.

We are going to start our sale with pens of commercial heifers. The Minhinnick’s, Davis’s, Vollman’s and Wunder’s bring you quality females. Many of these heifers come from bulls that have been purchased from the Bull Collar consignors. Look to increase the productivity of your cow herd with these quality genetics.

We would like to again welcome, Irving Angus-John and Keri Irving and Family, as guest consignors of 3 wonderful yearling Angus heifers. The Irving’s present to you sound, deep bodied and eye appealing females. These heifers are located at Northern View Angus for presale viewing.

We would also like to make you aware that Trustmark Agencies from Melville, will be on hand sale day to assist you with the insurance of your purchases. As breeders we will support you, the buyer, in every way we can to ensure our cattle work. However, there are unforeseen events which occur, like illness, injury, or death, which the buyer and seller cannot control or guarantee. For situations like this there is insurance. We strongly recommend you insure all your livestock purchases but want you to insure any cattle which will be going home to our respective farms for a while. Please refer to back of catalogue for all sale conditions.

We take pride in the fact that we have an increased number of repeat customers. Please refer to the list of last years Blue Collar purchasers at the back of the catalogue. We truly enjoy the connections and socialization which is involved with our customers and the cattle business. We would like to invite you to give us a call or drop by our farms for a visit any time.

Consider this your invitation to come to Heartland in Yorkton on Thursday, April 10th from 3PM-7PM and Friday, April 11th from 9AM to 7PM for a viewing of the cattle and fellowship. On Sale Day, Saturday, April 12th cattle can be viewed beginning at 10 am. We will be having a lunch on sale day from 11 am to sale time.

See you at the Sale!

Troy, on behalf of the Blue Collar Sale Group

Northern View Angus

As cattle producers, and farmers in general, we seem to have season after season, year after year simply roll one into another and sometimes you catch yourself saying, “Well $h!t where did January go!”. It’s like you bear down for calving on January 1st, mother nature/old man winter kick the crap out of you, you get into the routine of day after day doing the same things over and over again and then suddenly it’s the middle of February. You often get in the house and wonder what are we gonna have for supper?? Some days its popcorn and smoothie, some days its toast and cereal but it always seems that food takes a back seat to calving. You say to yourself, “Self when did I leave the farm last.” Generally, the answer is, “Hmmm, I can’t remember.”

We are retaining a 1/3 semen interest in all our bulls unless otherwise stated. This does not impact you owning the bull, the rights to walk the bull or the salvage value on the bull. All it means that if at some point we would like to draw semen for in herd use we would arrange at your convenience and our expense to do so.

We do all this because we love what we do, we care for our animals seemingly more than ourselves most days. While the financial renumeration is currently close to where it needs to be we do this for far more than that. If we just raised cattle for the money, we would not even think of doing this. As each of you know it is a lot of work 365 days of the year to raise cattle.

Carefully selecting genetics, following vaccine protocols, marketing…. Are all things we do to build our ever improving and evolving cow herd. It takes a lifetime, generations and decades to build a cow herd.

Having all this in mind, we believe our cow herd has become a lot better over the years and you will notice in how proud we are of our cows in the bull footnotes. We treat our cows with the greatest respect in hopes they do the same for us. Temperament is top of mind here. Attractive, functional, structurally sound performance cattle are what we strive for. I look to carefully plan our breeding program when it comes to our AI sires and walking bulls. This year you will see some of the same sires plus some new ones. Super Duty 89F has become a sire to build around, we used a son 125J, Cha Ching 98J and Rumble 48K as our walking bulls. AI wise LVVF Tanker, Deer Valley Growth Fund, Brookdale Brutus, Schiefelbein Effective, High Point Cache, SAV Rainfall and DL Rainmaker are represented. We want bulls and cows that can raise both males and females that work.

We have really worked on not pushing our bulls. Feeding them a ration of 1% of their body weight in their feed ration and the balance of their ration with brome, timothy, orchard grass and intermediate wheat grass hay. The hay is of excellent quality this year. We monitor the feed intake of our bulls with regular manure checks to ensure no overfeeding and to promote a sound growing bull that will work for you for the long term. We target a growth rate of 3-3.5lbs average daily gain. They have free choice #18 Boss lick tubs to promote scrotal development, semen quality and structural soundness. The bulls are raised in large pens and/or pasture areas to allow for ample room to wander, rumble and explore.

I have catalogued our bulls in sire groups and in numerical order of when they were born within that group. Generally I have put the the oldest bull is first, and the youngest bull is last of that sire group. Quality is strong from lots 2-31.

Please follow us on social media on Facebook, Instagram, SnapChat and X. We will have regular posts, snaps… Please note that our pictures and videos were done February 15th-17th. They are a tool to select bulls, but we invite you to come see the bulls in person.

Thank you to those who have supported us in our sale preparations and presentation of our Bulls.

MINERAL PACKAGE

Valued at $1000

Rider Game Day Package

The tradition of “stupidstition”, as Amy calls it-insert eyerolling emoji, regarding the Lot 1 Curse continues to be a thing. However, the actual reason for starting this Lot 1 deal has been eclipsed by the success of last year’s fund raiser. When the dust settled, we were able to raise $8590 to split equally between the Yorkton Regional 4H and the Canadian Angus Foundation. WOW!!! Thank you to all who purchase tickets in the Dutch Auction last year. As a result of this success we decided to giver another go.

Kelly Scott, Scott Acres, was the recipient of the Northern View Experience. However, this tour is still in the works as summer schedules, harvest… Alexis and Josh’s wedding were all things which have delayed this experience. We have been in touch with Kelly multiple times and we are still committed to get the tour in for sure. Jordan Sies was the winner of the mineral package.

It goes with out saying, that as a retired principal/teacher, I have a real passion for education and our youth. As part of the funds donated to the Yorkton Regional 4H a $1000 scholarship has been created to got to a worthy graduating 4H member who attends the Regional 4H. The Regional board and ourselves established criteria for this scholarship with preference being given to the member going into a field of agriculture. Last year’s scholarship recipient was Kierra Hawreluik. She is attending Lakeland College this year. Congratulations Kierra.

This year funds raised will be split in ½ with the Yorkton Regional 4H and Agriculture In the Classroom (AITC) organization. AITC has trained educators go to into schools throughout Saskatchewan to educate students K to 12 about Agriculture and where their food comes from as well as coordinates farm tours for classes. This year Northern View will be hosting a grade 5/6 class from North Valley Elementary. We will look at all aspects of a cow calf operation-nutrition, herd health and management, breeding/AI a cow, vaccination of animals….Tour Pearl Creek Meats to learn a bit about processing meat and how our beef gets to our table and we will tour Wilna Vanderbeeks farm with goats, sheep and chickens. Other farms and schools throughout Sask will be holding tours with the support of AITC.

A Rider Game Day Package and the mineral package will be auctioned in Dutch Auction style to start the sale. Tickets would be auctioned at a value of $10 per ticket. If you bid $200 you would receive 20 tickets that would be entered into the draw. If you bid $150 you would receive 15 tickets that would be entered in the draw. The winner of the draw will have choice of these options. The draw will occur before the purebred heifers sell. Winner selection will be randomly generated by a computer program developed by DLMS. Once that selection is made a second draw will be made for which ever package was not selected.

The mineral package has a retail value of $1000. The mineral tubs have been donated by our friends Dan & Jackie Sawley-New Rosedale Mineral Dealers 1 tub, Clayton Hawreluik-SweetPro Mineral Dealers 1 tub, Hackman FeedsMasterfeeds Mineral dealer and Northern View Angus-Boss Mineral Dealers 2 tubs. Thank you all for your generosity.

The Rider Game Day experience will include 4 game tickets for the game of your choosing, Labour Day Classic and playoff tickets will not be included in choice options. We will provide one night’s hotel accommodations for you too. Melville Veterinary Clinic will provide $600 toward a meal at the restaurant of your choosing. If it would work out, we would like to attend the game with the winner of this option.

Thank you in advance for supporting the youth of the Yorkton Regional 4H and Agriculture in the Classroom as outlined in the Ad.

REF SIRE: LVVF Tanker 14

Well, when if comes to AI sire selection here I do a fair bit of analysis, have standards for numbers which I will not compromise but also want an attractive and functional animal. Tanker is easy to look at, has numbers that check all the boxes in my list and the progeny seem very sound and functional. Look to Tanker to add mass, shape and eye appeal. We are excited to breed his daughter this spring. Low birth weight with lots of performance and style in these Tanker bulls.

Lot 2

NORTHERN VIEW TREMOR

“BEEP, BEEP, BEEP” Back up the bus and take a good look at this guy. I could merely put, “Ditto” for lot 2 and 3 but there are some features in Tremor 16M that draw your attention to him. He is kinda the holy grail of bulls. Packed with calving ease but also incredible mass and growth. A breeder was touring Agribition last fall and after he came by the stall 5 times stopped and said, “That 16M bull is the longest spined bull in the barn, congratulations.” So, as Shane would say, “He’s longer than a visit from the mother-in-law.” LOL!!! While we appreciated that comment we also admire this guy for his shear power, shape, growth coupled with his calving ease build, design and numbers. He also has a very good pair of pants on him. Ruth 151H is a up and coming young cow here and has added value to any pedigree. From weaning to Harvest Showdown in Yorkton there was 21 days. We do not push these guys as we want a sound bull in April, and he gained a remarkable 105lbs. Yup that’s 5lbs per day. I admire this bull for his loin, quarter and muscle pattern. Look to Tremor 16M for outstanding replacement females, calving ease type progeny and performance a plenty. He is in the top 1% for weaning and 2% for yearling weight. This bull is halter broke. Recommended for heifers.

“HOLY MACKINAW BABY,” this is Archie. Cool smooth made stylish bull that is structurally very complete. This guy is made very much like his brothers and is backed by a very good Lucy/Unanimous daughter. Lucy 71C has done nothing but go about her business and raise calves. She has been designated a CAA Premier/Elite Dam. All but one of her calves has gone on to be breeding stock. We are so comfortable with her that we are using a son that is the sire to lot 13. This bull is a calving ease made guy with growth numbers in the top 2% of the breed gaining 3.37lbs/day to a year.

Last year’s maternal brother sold to Mike Warken, Kendall, Sk. This Tanker son is a stud. This bull is halter broke. Recommended for heifers.

Maternal Sibling, Cosmic Event 29L sold in Blue Collar 2024 to Mike & Jolene Warken, Kendall SK. Dam, Lucy 71C

Weight that will make the earth shake here. Holy moly this guy is a big strapping bull that came out moderate and flat grew. His dam, Lady 2H is one we purchased with a Rainfall daughter in dam (dam to lot 31). We feel a little guilty for the very affordable money we spent to get this awesome female. But the reality is we consider this to be “smart buying”. Lady 2H has beautiful fluffy ears positioned well on her skull, great neck extension, super angular show type female with excellent feet and udder. Her in dam daughter is a carbon copy of her in this two for one deal and is proving to be an excellent young cow in her own right. Tremor 1M is in the top 1% of the bred for both weaning and yearling weights. He has tremendous length of spine, ample scrotal development and sound structure in every direction. This guy should produce performance enhancing, attractive females that you will want hang onto.

This is a bull we could name “Goldilocks.” Why you ask? Everything about him seems just right. Here is a close relative to lot 2. A direct daughter of 84S and Tanker has generated a hairy, hippy and stylish bull. This is the youngest of the Tanker sons, but he is really coming into his own. I am constantly drawn to this guy in the corral when I walk around analysing the bulls. He is flat out a good bull in every way. The depth of body that he carries throughout is really cool. He is simply a super good bull that will command your attention when you walk in the pen. Every sale has an outstanding bull that gets overlooked and then has the dubious distinction of the “Buy of the Sale”. Don’t miss this guy. When you add in the genetic appeal, structure and longevity of Ruth 84S then that adds another level. This guy will be likely create the “Right Kind” of females for you.

GROWTH FUND

REF SIRE: Deer Valley Growth Fund

For a number of years, I had debated about using Growth Fund. I loved his look and his performance and growth numbers. I saw a few of his progeny out and about and decided to pull the trigger. His weaning and yearling weights are in the top 2% and 1% of the breed. We had 4 sons in last years sale, and they were very well received. We have daughters in our replacement pen, and they look fantastic. I am looking forward to breeding and calving out these girls.

As the saying goes, “Life is to short to look at ugly cattle.” That is not even close to an issue here. Amy always says, “Aren’t you done the footnotes yet?” My response is always,”Yes”. She says,”My footnotes would be, Buy this one he’s good!” LOL! For this guy that would work without a doubt. Cosmic Event 75M is a bull that has that “look” to him. He’s a proud sound bull with an excellent attitude. This guy has a pail full of nuts, super deep body with a very clean smooth underline. If you are looking for a bull to build females around this is your stop. With SuperDuty, Zara Lisa and Growth Fund it is really a no brainer. I would be more than proud to show off these females to you. Zara Lisa 104H maybe one of our most complete angus cows. L love her feet, udder, depth, shape….I guess her everything. Her mother 84D has 3 daughter and a son, Cha Ching 98J, working in our herd. 98J is a calving ease, shape maker sire and the sire to lot 31. We called this guy Malcolm. You will notice Malcolm has hair that really pops and is halter broke. He is a moderate birth weight bull that I would field test for calving ease before trying him exclusively on heifers. Take a close look at his performance numbers and weights. This guy should make a “Big Bang” in your breeding program as he is built right, looks right and the numbers are right

Cosmic Event 64M tends to be a bull that always draws you in. He is smooth made, deep sided, great loined bull. He moves well. I really appreciate his head, shoulders and look in general. 64M has great performance numbers to boot being in the top 5% of the breed for ww and yw. I would be remise if I didn’t mention Beauty 96C. Its funny when you research your cow’s production over, they years and you see how awesome 96C has been. She has quickly become an old girl here but just keeps clicking along producing the good one year after year. In 2020 a son sold to Benlock Farms, Grandora, Sk. , in the Blue Collar. Tom has had nothing but good to say about his sons and daughters. Last year, her son sold in the Blue Collar to Vaughn Demetrich, Norquay, Sk. Look to keep daughters, as they will be very good Angus females.

Lot 8

and they are doing very well. Granddam, Tibbie 88C is an CAA elite dam. Tibbie 73E’s Rainmaker daughter sold to Abound Livestock, Moose Jaw, Sk. Brian reports that she is doing very well there. This guy has impressive performance weights and numbers, gaining 3.6lbs per day to yearling. Look to 8M to add some jam to his calves but not compromise anything on the female side of things. Recommended for use on heifers.

This fella is a big, strapping performance type bull. Long wide top. Structurally very sound with a deep body. His dam, Tibbie 73E is a real power type cow that is very feminine and angular with a great udder and feet. We have two daughters from her in our herd

If someone asks me to describe this bull in one word I would say, “Balanced”. His is very complete in terms of his makeup, structure, his genetics, his numbers and his phenotype. He is supported by his terrifically deep powerful cow that is very well put together. We have a beautiful ½ sib Super Duty daughter working in our herd. Shane selected both her heifer calf and bred for the Touch of Class this past fall. We offered them up as choice. Tim and Darcy Taylor, Wolseley, Sk. were the winning bidders and selected the bred. She calved out Feb 21st and has a gorgeous udder and is doing an excellent job with her calf. This bull should be an awesome female maker.

We, like most everyone, do not want issues calving out heifers. As a result, we try to always use the absolute best calving ease sires we can find. We want heifers to have an easy time calving and then spring into action after calving and not lay there exhausted with the calf laying in a mess behind her. Rainfall is a perennial calving ease stud, as we have been using him for 5 years now. Calves come easy, wanna live and just go flat out. We have used Rainfall on heifers and cows. The bulls are highly marketable with lots of shape and style. The daughters are always keepers and are like, “WOW!!!” Great angus females, great moms, and with a wonderful temperament. Udders are lights out. Rainfall has a 1961 progeny in Canada and his EPD profile comes with a high degree of accuracy. This is a consistency you can take to the bank. The 3 sons we are offering are similar to each other in many ways.

VIEW RUN & GUN

Love this guy’s hip and overall muscle expression. He has impressive growth and power for a calving ease bull, gaining 3.3lbs/day to yearling weight. Run and Gun 38M’s dam has done a very good job on this guy. The Beauty cow family has been very good. Granddam 112F is a super functional, attractive Special Focus daughter. We have retained 3 of her daughters including 92K. 38M has a terrific toolbox under him. This guy has a 72lb birth weight, low epd weight and has great design for calving ease. Recommended for heifers.

WOW! This shapely Rainfall son is one that could be a lifer as a heifer bull. His is build well in every direction. You will appreciate his quarter, loin and hip. He is in the top 9% of the breed for birth weight but then gained over 3lbs a day. His dam is a gorgeous Missie/Super Duty daughter that we are very excited to see her continue to produce for us. Look confidently at 42M for your calving ease needs. Recommended for heifers.

BULL WITH THE

AND PEDIGREE TO BACK HIM UP

Run & Gun 24L - Paternal Brother sold to Venture Farms, Roblin, MB at the 2024 Blue Collar Sale

Another Goldilocks kinda bull here with everything just right. A shapely, stylish and tanky Rainfall son. This bull is very well put together in terms of calving ease traits with a nicely, made head, smooth shoulders. We know that the design of the calf is as important as the actually birth weight data. A 74lb snake will come out better than a 74lb block. If you look in this pedigree you will notice the maternal prowess of two of our elite dams in Princess 99Z and Ruth 84S. Cows we tried to keep as many daughters from as we could. Ruth 27K is a very complete Angus cow and I think you will agree that she has a very good udder. This bull has a great top and a lot of middle to him. This guy came out at a lean 74lbs and took off from there. Cause as the saying goes, “A calf does not need to grow on the inside but on the outside.” This guy proves that. Recommended for heifers.

Dams Udder - Ruth 27K
27K,
Farms, Roblin MB, at
Blue Collar Sale

We love those Renovation cattle here. The daughters are young cows here but quickly carrying their weight. They are powerful females that produce time and time again. Rumble 48K is an extremely powerful bull with lots of muscle. He is admired for his completeness for all who see him. His dam is a top producing Lucy cow for us and is the mother to lot 3. One his own, Rumble 91M, a bull that I admire for his shape, muscularity and his teddy bear kinda hair coat. Queen 102H is another super duty daughter I am very proud to show you. She has a great udder, tanky body and Angus fronted for sure. This mid March bull has excellent scrotal development to him. Recommended for use on heifers.

We selected Rainmaker as an outcross powerhouse pedigree on a bull with incredible power and design. He boasts the top 1% of the breed for weaning weight, yearling weight, and scrotal size. There are only 123 progenies in Canada. We have produced 23 of them. Semen on Rainmaker was nonexistent and we only have one calf from him in this year’s sale. I was able to beat the bushes and find the last 40 straws in the free world for last breeding season so we will have more calves for next year. Maternal sib Princess 19L who has calved and doing a great job with her calf.

If you are looking for a bull to add performance, length of body to your calves, Stop here. He is in the top 1% for weaning and top 2% for yearling weight. This guy is a maternal powerhouse with Ruth and Density in the pedigree. Ruth 906G is overall a very beautiful cow with an excellent udder and great feet. She is ideal for us in terms of mass and overall tankiness. Last year’s full brother was our high seller to Clint & Anna Collins-Rio Grande Angus, Beaverlodge Alta. They have reported that he maintained his condition very well. Clint said, “I don’t think he lost a pound.” He has grown well and is calving out nicely for them. Look to 46M to add power and upsize your herd and produce first rate daughters for your replacement pen.

Don’t read this before bed cause you won’t be able to sleep with all the excitement you will have being able to pick from 10 Super Duty sons. This Thunder/Princess son we called “Neil” cause as a calf he was a huge pest at the gates and always wanting pets so you gotta give him a name right. We have 30 Neil daughters in our herd. Over the past number of years Neil got all the 1st calvers and anything calving March 1st or later. This is why we have so many sons from younger cows too. Neil is owned with our good friends at Venture Farms, Roblin MB. Princess 99Z is designated a CAA Elite Dam. She has one daughter in our herd, 98G then 3 bulls. Greg has wanted to own a share in all those bulls too cause in his mind the quality of this cow is superior. He wanted as many of “her” in his herd as he could. LOL! We too, used a Renovation son that left us 8 daughters and 1 son. The son was a hot commodity at last year’s sale garnering some outstanding $$$ with Dan & Jackie securing the winning bid on him. Sadly, this guy broke his pee pee. We kept the daughters. I know you are saying, “Ya Ya Troy, we get it, you like Neil.” With what he has done for us he is without a doubt the best walking bull we have ever used. Its kinda neat cause we just happened to raise him. Over the past two years I have dusted off some of the Thunder semen canes and have gotten a smattering of calves. We are excited to see the results. Neil won’t blow you away in any one category but what will blow you away is his consistency and well roundedness in all areas. He is I guess a bit of a “Renaissance man”. LOL!

Lot 15

As the saying goes, “You breed ugly to ugly, chances are you are gonna get ugly!” Well here the exact opposite is true. Princess 70F is an absolute Gem of a cow, throw Neil in there an well, Kaboom. This dude is a really really complete bull that will work as a heifer bull but have enough punch and performance to him to work in the cow pasture too. Super Duty 3M’s weaning and yearling weights are excellent in the top 10% of the breed. When you sidle in behind this guy you will notice a very good hip and quarter. I am an A$$ and Loin man so this is where I start to look at an animal. If I like this area, then I continue to analyse if not I’m out. You will love this guys attractive, yet manly head and his overall smoothness. We parted with a full sister to this guy in the fall of 2023. Gage Goetz bought Ruth 63L. Here are some things Gage and his parents sent me on her.

“She’s matured in to a beautiful nearly 2 year old maintaining great body condition and only been on grass, hay and free choice mineral/salt since July. She has such a nice rib shape, body length and depth. Her udder is tidy and level and teet size looks great, I don’t foresee any issues with her calves being able to nurse with ease. She’s still as sound as the day we brought her home and we’ve never had to trim her feet. Just took a close look at them today and they are still looking great.

Our absolute favorite trait about Ruth is her temperament. She’s consistently easy going and great to work with. You get the same heifer every time. Gage will be showing her as a continuation heifer this year and looking forward to the arrival of her calf in March”. Recommended for heifers.

Good old 99Z has been a bull factory for sure and when she kicked out a daughter, we hung on to it. Princess 115J is stunning Rainfall daughter that is beautifully headed, and wedge fronted. A model Angus cow. Super Duty 28M is a shapely, deep bodied calving ease bull. He is wearing a very good set of pantses under him. Genetically and phenotypically close to lot 21 for sure. At Christmas time Talon and I were out in the pen. Talon said, “Dad have you looked at that 55 bull?” Me, “Yes, why?” Talon.” He’s pretty good.” Me, “Ya I know.”

Super Duty 55M is super deep and tanky, since we don’t get paid for the daylight under our cattle you can count on this guy’s mass to add pounds to his progeny. His is super smooth, super sound. With the genetic purity of the double shot of Princess you can’t go wrong with the daughters. The great grand dam, 95X, had 6 daughters. For good reason, we kept them all. “He is a herd sire that manages to balance growth, performance, and strong maternal traits in an attractive package. Super smooth balance of hip and shoulder with enough length to compliment his structure. His look is finished with a classic Angus head. A herd sire that checks so many boxes. Super Duty 83M is a calving ease bull with nice clean underline, strong top, smooth shoulders and good calving style head. I like the added quarter, hip and hair on this guy. The granddam, Susan 122B is an elite dam. We have retained all 6 of her daughters. One is the dam to lot 9. With a 80lb birth weight and an epd in the top 15% of the breed. Recommended for heifers.

We had seen some Broncs sons and liked the kind. Brutus is a Bronc son that is an outcross pedigree with a great deal of growth and power. Brutus has very clean lines and masculine look to Brutus. Hit the breaks, back up and stop for a long look at these Brutus son’s if you’re looking to add some raw power to your calves and cow here.

This bull is a moderate birth weight bull for sure. You will appreciate the power and masculinity he possesses for a calving ease kinda deal. DING! DING! Ruth 80F has rung the bell. Here you have a very nicely bred bull that should put some wind into the sails of your heifer breeding program. This bull is an eye catcher for sure with terrific style and eye appeal. Typhoon 57M came out at, what I consider a nice calf weight out of a heifer, 80lbs. and grew very well gaining over 3lbs/day. I know you have heard me mention the Princess cows before but the Effective added in her creates an absolutely stunning cow. She has great feet and legs, wonderful udder and wedge shaped for sure. We have a maternal Super Duty daughter that just calved here and WOW! What a great female and her calf is doing great. Look to Typhoon 57M to calve easy with vigorous growth calves that will make great daughters for replacements to boot. Recommended for heifers.

While I like all the Brutus bulls 69M maybe my favorite. He is very completesmooth made, deep soggy and structurally very sound. His lines are very attractive to me. As I stated earlier, I am an a$$ man and loin guy. This is where I start when I look at an animal. If that doesn’t strike me then I move on. Typhoon 69M is a bull I would continue to analyze for sure. Now he is a moderate calving ease bull with super terrific growth. Just have a look at his weaning and yearling numbers. We have used Cache because of his impressive mass, muscle expression, phenotype, performance numbers, scrotal development, milk and outcross genetics. The Cache progeny here all have that attractive showy kinda look to them. The Cache progeny have terrific shape and rib to them. Rare genetic opportunities here with only 20 progenies registered in Canada and we breed 14 of them. We have used a son, Cha Ching 98J, successfully on heifers and cows. The calves have a tremendous vigor and a real desire to live. The two bulls from 98J that were on our sale were very well received fetching top dollar. Check out a 98J son in lot 63M. Well Johnny’s back. This herd bull landed back in our herd. After the storm there is a rainbow. Johnny is indeed a rainbow for us. He is out of our Zara Lisa 84D who just keeps lighting it up year after year. She has three outstanding daughters in our herd. One of them, Zara Lisa 104H had a son sell in Blue Collar to Pine Rock Farm, Cleveland Quebec. A maternal grandson also sells as lot 6. We successfully used Johnny as a heifer bull for two years. His calves come out full of piss and vinegar, a strong will to live and flat out go after that. I love love love their overall shape and style. The EPD profile of Johnny is also super appealing. The Cache/Cha Ching deal is an, “I feel like doublemint gum.” Kinda feeling stamping them all the same. Sadly, Johnny was injured, and we lost him. The 2025 calves will be his last here. We will have a good number of them though.

When you sprinkle in some Rainfall and a bit of Cache you end up with a sound, eye appealing calving ease deal with performance and production that will put Cache in your pockets come market time but also make cattle that will demand some attention in the show ring if that is your thing. Cha Ching 63M has the build and numbers to be a heifer bull but also should have enough jam to him to work well in the cow pasture. Recommended for heifers.

Our family would like to welcome you to the 19th Annual Blue Collar Bull Sale. Hard to believe it’s been 19 years already! Our family has been raising purebred Angus cattle since 1933 and have been registering calves with the Canadian Angus Association for 84 years. We currently have the Fifth generation of Parkwood Farm actively raising Angus cattle and working on the farm. We are proud to be a family run operation.

As we are writing this welcome, we are with mixed emotions. We have recently lost an integral part of our operation that will forever be missed. We would like to dedicate this years’ offering to Jack Burkell, Joyce’s husband, Scott’s dad, and an amazing grandfather to Katie, Landon and Macy. His knowledge of cattle and hard work will be missed dearly. But mostly we will miss his smile and company. Just this past fall he was named the Honourary President of the Saskatchewan Angus Association. A position he was very proud and honoured to receive. We would like to thank all of our fellow cattlemen for all the wonderful memories and thoughtful words you have shared with us. It truly means a lot.

We have on offer a wide variety of genetics, including LVVF Tanker 14,Ellingson Three Rivers, Square B Atlantis, Peak Dot Trust and Brookdale Brutus just to name a few. We are continually searching for new sire groups that will provide moderate birth weights as well as growth to the weaning and yearling stages. We also run a small feedlot operation, so we understand the need to have performance bred into these calves for when they go to market. When selecting genetics it is also very important to us to breed and develop a strong, maternal female group that is the foundation of our herd. Through the use of our herd bulls, AI sires and embryo purchases we feel that we have a strong and productive group of females on our farm.

If you wish to view the bulls prior to the sale, the farm is always open and you are more than welcome to stop by. Otherwise they will be available at Heartland Livestock in Yorkton starting on the afternoon of April 10th right up until sale time at 1:00pm Saturday April 12th.

Please feel free to contact Scott at 306-621-3638 or Landon at 306-516-7893 anytime!

Thanks and we hope to see you all at the sale!

Welcome to the 19th Annual Blue Collar Bull and Heifer Sale. We once again thank the consignor group for offering the opportunity for us to showcase a small but mighty group of females from the heart of our open heifer pen.

These heifers spent the summer with their mothers on native pasture. They were weaned onto a diet of green oat bales alternated with dry alfalfa/brome. In mid-January a small ration of mixed grain was introduced to assist them through the coldest stretch of winter. On February 8, the group was moved to Northern View Angus until just prior to sale. We trust that you will find these heifers to be in excellent functional condition. They have also received 8-Way, BoviShield Gold FP®5 VL5, and Ivomec application prior to sale.

2025 marks our 25th year raising registered angus seedstock, and our work on improving structural features, udder quality, disposition and overall maternal strength, continues.

The powerful Blue Collar bulls will need some company in the pasture; these heifers provide the opportunity to start something special, or to insert a new cow line into your genetic plan. We hope you find time to view these females-of-the-future at Northern View Angus prior to sale, or to stop by the pen on April 12th.

Hoping to see you on sale day!

John M. and Keri, Logan, Jones, and Jeena

IRVING ANGUS LADY LEE 18M

A true Canadian pedigree. 18M is a compact, stylish Steel Patch female, packed with Lady Lee genetics. Our Lady Lee cow line started way back with the purchase of WWF Lady Lee 100J, and because of their dependability and durability, continue to be one of our most prolific cow families.

Lot 66

25M is an impressive Steel Patch daughter out of a powerful Lady Lee 4F mother. A SVR Dispatcher son out of 4F is working on the commercial side at Irving Angus and Delmar McCallum purchased a Super Duty 138H son out of 4F last year. If you are looking for a heifer that will carry extra length and high capacity as a mature cow, this girl should deliver.

IRVING ANGUS LADY LEE 25M

6K

Blackbird 9M is a low birthweight female out of Northern View Super Duty 138H and a young eye-catching 9J mother. 9J starts them out small, but as time goes on, her calves stand right in with the group. You can expect excellent udder conformation in this cow line, and strong maternal instinct. Our 138H bull has been a difference-maker for our herd. He is built like a cube moving on perfect feet, and we are already seeing many of his daughters turn into strong young herdbuilders.
