Degree designed to mirror the current and future working environment within the fashion communication marketing industry. Social Media Marketing is not going away; the industry predicts that there will be a growth over the next 10 years for communication marketing from fashion brands and influencer marketing. The course aimed to help you develop skills for the 21st century Fashion communication and marketing Industry. Delivered in an exciting and fast paced accelerated model over 2 years, you will utilise the summer period to study over 6 Trimesters. 75% of the degree is online & 25% workshops. We have a dedicated space Studio 204 for students to work in, this programme gives you flexible options to work remotely,
the option to engage 75% online and still have the option to engage with Kingsway creative campus to use our fantastic facilities or work in the studio. Visit the reference library book the photo studio etc. Lectures and some workshops will be delivered online, this gives the student the opportunity, to be taught by national and international industry fashion specialists and industry.25% of the course is delivered in Face to Face workshops. Patricia Hall (Tracey), has worked in Education and the Fashion Industry for over 20 years. She has mentored students both nationally and internationally as they have developed their careers post degree. Patricia has worked as Head of Design & Academic Studies, at the prestigious Whitehouse Design Institute in Sydney, Head of Fashion Technology at RMIT Melbourne ranked number one Fashion School in Australia, and Head of Fashion Ravensbourne London, ranked no 4 in the UK. Setting up a Pay It Forward Network in 2010 of over 400 ex graduates to date. Inviting ex-students to support up and coming students with mentorship, Work placement, Industry briefs and Talks. Patricia has worked in the Fashion Industry for her own Creative Agency VERA, working for Kenzo, Nike, Donna Karen, and lots of another brand as a mentor. Her research for the past 15 years has been the investigation of digital learning environments –Immersive education, and has consulted to a number of educational institutions both nationally and internationally about her research, embedding New Technology into Higher Education curriculums.

The course is an exciting fast paced 2-year fast track to industry programme, delivered 75% online the content will mirror industry and have supporting virtual space (The Fashion LAB) with the added value of flipped classroom and Industry mentors. Students will work directly in a social media environment that will support them teaching and learning. Creative Campus, Kingsway is located on the outskirts of the city centre, a 20-minute walk from Parkgate Road Campus. Across 6,920 square metres this specially developed creative arts campus offers a range of modern facilities and equipment to bring learning to life. 11
Facilities at the Creative Campus, Kingsway are extensive and facilitate a wide range of traditional and contemporary visual arts and design practices. There is dedicated studio space, and technical workshop areas that include, a printmaking studio, photography studios and dark rooms, workshop areas for wood, metal and plastics, animation, a digital 3D printing lab along with Mac and PC labs. The site also includes performing arts provision and has shared facilities for video edit and sound recording and editing. Lecture Theatre and seminar spaces along with the Café, Foyer Gallery and student social space create a very lively creative environment.

Students will study the fundamentals contemporary fashion communication thinking, visual research and the introduction to personal visual Fashion language, contextual studies (Fashion Marketing) and be encouraged to develop creative ideas through experimentation whilst acknowledging the values of traditional skills and embracing, the application of new technologies. Industry brief developing fashion brand collaborations, investigating direct to the consumer marketing This module provides students with the opportunity to explore contemporary fashion branding, marketing &communications theory, analyse and critical reflection, within the context of the fashion industry students will examine consumer behaviour in relation to branding and communication. Telling stories via fashion/ lifestyle product is an important aspect of marketing and communication within the fashion industry, this module explores how the fashion image targets the consumer and communicates, brand identity within their chosen market level. The module asked students to explore their understanding and critical reflection of telling stories via the fashion images how they are used as a direct to the consumer marketing tool Understanding of image at all levels of the fashion markets within a social media environment, and how it conveys a message to the targeted consumer Innervation in storytelling for fashion. This module offers students the opportunity to work for the “Planet 204 AGENCY” mirroring industry simulated environment offering the opportunities for industry placement both remote and physical, Editor of Planet 204 Zine, live fashion projects, Fashion competitions and local community projects. As preparation, the student will have the opportunity for self-diagnosis and critical reflection in respect of them interests, hard and soft skills, strengths, weaknesses and career ambitions. The student will prepare themselves for a chosen fashion- sector in a way that is relevant to local, national and international markets. Students will evaluate their personal brand and develop organisational skills as well as personal presentation skills. Personal and professional development and critical reflection are embedded throughout the course and this module builds on students learning to compete in the Fashion Communication Marketing Industry This module focuses on the development and building of a professional personal brand identity (BRAND ME) planning and interrogation of 360 gap in the market, Fashion Campaign. which will enable the student to launch into a chosen area of the industry. This module supports students to create a thorough research and development opportunity into their chosen pathway into the industry. Giving them knowledge and understanding of the market sectors. This module builds on the previous Trimester 5 module. Students are asked to further interrogate a final Fashion sector outcome. The focus of the module is the research, development and experimental processes that underpin a self-directed project, in the final year. Students explore how the Fashion Communication Marketing industry uses new media to reach identified target audiences. Exploring current industry practices and evolving marketing techniques to create a fusion between the physical and digital worlds. You will look closely at the variety of paths available to you and consider a range of targeted career outcomes and/or academic options. The BA (Hons) Fashion Communication Marketing (Social-Media) intends to build on the strengths and the strong employability of the current FMC course, creating graduates with skills for the NEW Normal of Communication Marketing in the Fashion Sector. Graduates from the programme will be equipped with the traditional understanding of theoretical marketing, Branding and Forecast, underpinned with skills needed for this new Fashion Communication Marketing landscape. The current FMC course has high employment directly after graduating in 2019 students 85% employment into the Fashion Industry 50-50 split into more traditional roles as buyers, marketers, PR, social media content creators and our very own Influencer.
