MEET ME
SENIOR THESIS
Militant as Fuck
In creating the “Militant as Fuck series my goal was to bring attention to the consistent role Black Empowerment has played in music through the years. I wanted to highlight a variety of struggles with the songs I chose and to also showcase that music is an art form much like that of painting or illustration. I also want my audience to walk away from my series with new interest in music and its relationship to the Black community. The posters are in chronological order. On Display: April 28-May 19, 2017 at the Spruance Art Center

RESTAURANT BRANDING
The idea was to create a branding system for a restaurant, including the logo, stationery system, menu, and other applications. After choosing our concepts we designed the logo and stationery system for the restaurant. My concept was bringing Soul Food to the heart of South Korean Night Life in Hongdae. It consists of color themes, fonts, illustrations, and a tagline. I've applied the identity to a menu, a packaging system, and a simple website plus coasters and a palm card design for the grand opening and concluded with a brand guide.
E-BOOK COVERS
In my mission to become a graphic designer my main goal has always been to become a book cover designer. It is driven my my love for reading and has ultimately led me to the where I am today as a graphic designer. In order to produce better work I should practice in anyway possible whenever possible and continue to explore and cultivate my craft which is what I have done by creating selfinitiated book cover designs. Photo rights belong to their respective owners.
POSTER DESIGN
I have designed many posters over the years, most of which deal with social justice issues or something that resonates with me. I shoot for a minimalist design aesthetic with focus on typography and engaging imagery.
PHOTO GRAPHY
I am very new to photography and still working to push myself. I want to use the lens to capture my minds eye and not just what can be seen in front of me. There is tremendous beauty in nature, architecture, people, etc. and I want to showcase that.
MEET ME
As a visual artist, I try hard to create pieces that convey the messages of empowerment, history and awareness utilizing social justice issues in the media as well as cultural exploration. My influences come from history and African-American artists that came before me, such as Aaron Douglas, Augusta Savage and Barbara Jones-Hogu as they have paved the way for me as a young African-American visual artist.
