CHICKENS AND EGGS: HEALTH, MANAGEMENT, AND PROPER CARE OF SUCCESSFUL BACKYARD FLOCKS This engaging 4-week workshop provides an introduction to the science and management of backyard birds. Participants will study current management practices for backyard chicken flocks such as proper housing, nutrition, breeding, and care. The course will also examine important issues in avian health including biosecurity, diseases, parasites, and welfare. Important processes such as egg production, reproduction, and digestion will also be covered. DATES: SEP 27, OCT 4, 11, 18, 2021
Allison Breedveld Facilitator
Allison has a Master's Degree in Avian Science from UC Davis and has been a Shasta College Natural Resources Instructor since 2006. Over the years, she's served as a 4-H Poultry leader and poultry judge for fairs in Northern California.
