EXPLORE THE WORLD AS A TRAVEL WRITER

If you love to travel and love to write, this is for you! We will discuss how to use all your senses in a new destination to create more detailed and in-depth descriptions that capture and maintain readers’ interest, and whether or not you need to include photos with your work. You will also learn how to find and submit your finished product to print and online markets, the business side of travel writing (how to take travel tax deductions), and how to avoid worn-out travel writing clichés. Informative handouts for future use are included in class fee. The instructor LeeAnne Krusemark is a former journalist, current author and editor, and a nationwide Professor of Publishing at higher learning institutions, including Harvard Adult Education. HOW TO WRITE A NOVEL – PART 1 (REMOTE LIVE)

Have you thought of writing a novel but didn't know where to begin? This class will give you the tools to start your story. Instructional lectures will explore the basics of developing sympathetic, believable characters and creating sufficient conflict to support your story. In-class creative writing exercises will reinforce each lesson as will enjoyable homework assignments. These will be reviewed in class in a strictly supportive environment. Students will complete the class with a thorough knowledge of the characters who will drive their novel and one scene.

HOW TO WRITE A NOVEL – PART 2 (REMOTE LIVE)

Unlock the mysteries of novel structure in this continuation of How to Write a Novel. Full-length novels require a strong framework in which the characters act out their bids to reach their goals. Through instructional lectures, we will learn how to create a full-length page-turner of a plot. In-class creative writing exercises and enjoyable homework assignments will reinforce each lesson. These will be reviewed in class in a strictly supportive environment. Students will complete the class with an outline and/or the first chapter of their own novel.
