“So much of black life in Chicago happens in Washington Park even if you are from the West Side or the North Side, it is hard not to find yourself there at least once each summer. The African Festival of the Arts, the Bud Billiken Parade, and family barbecues all find a home in the massive park.”

(Ewing, 2020)

THE OBAMA PRESIDENTIAL CENTER

PROJECT : CULTURAL LOCATION : CHICAGO,USA

While researching the history of Chicago and digging deeper into the south-side, where the Obama Presidential Center is proposed site, there is a huge history to reflect on and a history to be made. We live in a world where a lot of social, economical, political issues are happening around us such as discrimination, climate change.

In his book “Palaces for the People”, author Eric Klinenberg wonders why people lose their lives in specific neighborhoods, such as Englewood on the South Side of Chicago, at 10 times the rate of those who live in other neighborhoods?

Why there is a huge gap between different groups of people?

He states that “The explanation had to do with social infrastructure.

The social Infrastructure is the missing piece of the puzzle, and building palaces where all kinds of people can gather is the best way to repair the fractured societies we live in today.”

( Klinenberg,

2018)

Design, in general, plays an important role in bringing us together and shaping our future.

The Obama Presidential Center will be a place for education and celebration; for creating jobs and providing economic opportunities; and a place where current tensions are resolved in new ways.

While deeper Presidential history

There is a strong relationship between the existing building’s wall. They are almost creating a space between them that should be invested.

SCHOOLACADEMICBUILDING

By locating the Obama Presidential Center (OPC) Parallel to the school building, we’re creating a Place “ The  Public Square” In terms of a sense of a place, we need to make the public square safe and comfortable for people to stay and socialize.

Washington Park has a lot of walking paths around the site, and one of the main paths is cutting through the Obama presidential Center site.

SCHOOLACADEMICBUILDING

Additional to the path cutting through the building we added a secret garden which will be an addition to the park experience.

The park’s curvy and organic pathways inspired the design of having serpentine and smooth lines to extend the park experience through the building.

SCHOOLACADEMICBUILDING

To enhance the special experience through the secret garden, the buildings curtain walls were manipulated horizontally to create even more organic and smooth experience.

EXPERIENCE: BODY + MUSEUM

The first graduate studio was about EXPERIENCE: BODY + MUSEUM

We were supposed to design a museum of identity and an installation that present the idea of the Museum . This project was a group work ,but I’m presenting my part . Our museum of Identity is expressed by Interactive Digital Art ( IDAM ) .

OUR IDENTITY!

Everyone of us has different Identity , an individual , unique understanding of who we are . But either of us can’t define themselves without the other .

The Complementary and Duality relationship is the main feature of our universe

The two different forces such as light and dark, male and female can’t define themselves , their own individuality and their own Identity without the exciting of the other one .

SITE ANALYSIS

Located near downtown Mesa, the museum site was previously a big box store located adjacent to Fiesta Mall.

With the revival of downtown Mesa and a flourishing community , the development of IDAM will take Entertainment in the area to the next level.

“TO BE PART OF THE ART”

Our interactive digital art museum is combined of three factors :

EXPLORE PLAY BE ART

These three factors are expressed through our five senses.

Our museum of identity is expressed through DIGITAL ART.

Digital art is combined of two main factors:

THE

DARK & LIGHT

Either of the two can’t define itself without the other.

The time when they interact and experience each other new things will be generated.

PHOENIX COMMUNITY CENTER

PROJECT : COMMERCIAL LOCATION : PHOENIX, AZ

The Community Art center is a place where the community enjoy the art and taking some classes in specific subjects.

The center consists of art gallery, class rooms and outdoor spaces. It is inspired by its site in terms of design, materials and passive and active strategies. The idea is to design a place where it reflects its location.

MAIN DESIGN STRATEGIES :

• Regarding to the site analysis we designed the Art Center to be oriented on the north axis. Which is the best side to place our windows and have the outdoor connection.

• Trees sited on the north side for the outdoor spaces to provide shading, cool air and reduce the noise coming from the streets.

• All landscaping is native desert species requiring little to no water use and little maintenance. All plant choices are located within 100 miles of the site.

PRIVET CHALET (PROFESSIONAL WORK)

PROJECT : RESIDENTIAL LOCATION : ALQASSIM,SA

A private chalet designed as a gateway to escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life, located in Al Qassim.

The chalet was divided into its functional elements; As living and sleeping areas. In pursuit of open and connected spaces that provide high levels of natural light, and ventilation and are directly connected to the outside environment.

The interior design of the project is an extension of the building’s spatial configuration. In a desert environment in the middle of Saudi Arabia, we treat the harsh nature not as an obstacle to avoid, but rather as the main inspirational factor to embrace.

04
PLAN BUILDING SECTION
GROUND FLOOR

A standard unit was chosen as the main material for the interior spaces, and it was designed and formed in several ways to suit the function of the interior spaces; In a way that provides natural lighting and ventilation while maintaining the privacy of the space.

PROJECT : RESIDENTIAL LOCATION : ALRIYADH,SA

The Unit was divided into its functional elements; As living and sleeping areas. In pursuit of open and connected spaces that provide high levels of natural light, and ventilation and are directly connected to the outside environment.

Our goal is to create a meaningful spatial experience through a reciprocal relationship between the interior and its surrounding landscape, as a means of belonging and integration with the site and trying to achieve the goals of environmental sustainability and the expression of local identity.

The residential units were designed according to the principles of modern design and work on designing the spaces to reflect our daily uses of the interior spaces

Initially, the land was divided into two residential plots, each with two residential units that differ in area.

Each residential unit was divided into three main areas which are the family, guests, and services

Emphasis was placed on the presence of natural lighting and a private and semi-private outdoor space in all residential units
