Skilling: Supercomputer helps track tornadoes By BRENDA SCHORY bschory@shawmedia.com BATAVIA – When a tornado tears through a town and demolishes every building in sight, the funnel cloud and its trail of destruction is clear to the naked eye. But when a computing data network uses a supercomputer the size of two Tom football fields Skilling to collect the data and digitize its images, scientists learn more about what creates and sustains these destructive storms – and helps predict them. WGN chief meteorologist Tom Skilling hosted two presentations April 5 from various scientists and meteorologists at Fermilab in Batavia during the 34th annual Tornado and Severe Weather Seminar, which included the effects of climate change on weather. Donna Cox, leader of the Laboratory National Center for Supercomputing Applications Advanced Visualiza-

tion, presented the University of Illinois’ supercomputer, Blue Waters. Cox said Blue Waters is the fastest supercomputer of any university and also ranks as the 10th fastest in the world. A professor of art and design, Cox said she works with scientists to visualize their data. “Most people do not know that numerical models permeate their everyday lives, from cars to airplanes to the very financial and economic models that forecast our economy,” Cox said. “We have worked with Argonne National Laboratories to visualize a … model of traffic in downtown Chicago and how to reroute traffic during severe storms.” Gov. Pat Quinn spoke briefly about the deadly tornadoes the state experienced

in 2012 and 2013, as well as drought and flooding. Quinn also serves on President Obama’s Task Force on Climate Preparedness and Resilience to advise his administration on how the federal government can respond to the needs of communities dealing with the impact of climate change. “We’ve had such severe weather in the last year in Illinois,” Quinn said to a crowd of nearly 1,000 people in Fermilab’s Ramsey Auditorium. “Last April, we had the flood all across our state. We nev-

er saw anything like it in the history of Illinois since 1818. Then the killer tornado in November.” Quinn told of going to Washington and four other communities in the state that were hard hit by severe tornadoes. “It took lives, and in 12 seconds in Washington, Ill., it destroyed more than a thousand homes,” Quinn said. “I think it was a blessing that we have the kind of advance predictions and advice and using social media in particular. It saved lives, clearly, last November. Because folks got the warning ahead of time that something very, very dangerous was headed their way and they got to cover.” Quinn also shared how a first-grade boy who attended his State of the State Address this year had saved his family by learning about the early

warning system in school. “His teacher told him when you hear those sirens, you have to get cover, get down in the basement,” Quinn said. “So when he heard the sirens in Washington, Ill., he told his mom, ‘You’ve got to come down now, mom. You have to get to safety right away.’ She said, ‘In a minute or two, honey.’ He said, ‘Right away, mom.’ ” She listened to her son, and within a second or two after she went into the basement, their entire house was blown apart by a tornado. Quinn is running for re-election and facing a Republican challenge from candidate Bruce Rauner, a wealthy North Shore businessman. However, Quinn’s appearance at the Fermilab event is not a stop on his re-election campaign, a Fermilab spokesman said. Skilling and WGN, who organize the Tornado and Severe Storm Seminar at Fermilab every year, invited Quinn and his appearance was set up through Quinn’s office staff, not his campaign staff, the spokesman said.

and Walker said he was anxious to bite into his son’s creation. “I like the sauce on their pizzas,” he said. “I’m sure it will be good.” This is the fourth year Holy Cross students have taken part in the activity at Chicago Pizza. “It’s always been a fun project,” Holy Cross preschool teacher Patty Mullins said.

“At school, we make paper plate pizzas.” Guiding the students through the process was Chicago Pizza owner Moiz Kanchwala, who said he enjoyed working with the kids. “These are beautiful kids,” Kanchwala said. “Three or four different schools come every year. It’s something nice to do. My own children are grown.” Five-year-old Faith Muetze of Batavia decided to put cheese and pepperoni on her pizza. “I like them on my pizza,” she said. “Pepperoni is my favorite. Sometimes the pepperoni is spicy.” At home, Faith spends a lot of time in the kitchen. “We bake all the time at home,” said her mother, Brandi Muetze. “She likes to help. She mostly likes to play with the dough.”

BATAVIA – Given that cheese and sauce are his favorite pizza toppings, it is not surprising that 4-year-old Hughston Walker of Batavia decided to put them on the pizza he was making Monday at Chicago Pizza and Catering of Batavia. “I just like them,” Hughton said, grinning. Hughton is a preschool student at Holy Cross Catholic School in Batavia. He and his fellow classmates were given the chance to make their own pizzas at the restaurant. This was his first experience making an actual pizza. “He’s made pizzas before on his iPad,” said his father, Scott Walker. The family has previously ordered from Chicago Pizza,

impose a sunset clause. Aldermen will need to approve an ordinance changing the tax back to one half percent and direct that it be filed with the state in early 2017 for the change to take effect at that time. Aldermen already have approved an option that would raise electric rates in 2014 and 2015 in combination with a

half-cent increase to the city’s home-rule sales tax. In addition, the option would apply different percentage increases to energy and demand for commercial and industrial customers. City staff had recommended the option. Batavia Public Works Director Gary Holm told aldermen the option would provide

sufficient revenues and maintain comparable electric rates with surrounding utilities. Under the option, residents this year will see a 6.5 percent increase in their electric rates, plus a $4-a-month increase to the customer charge. In 2015, residents also will see a 6.5 percent increase in their electric rates.

nor concerns.” Eight of the calls were regarding sign placement, an issue that arises every election cycle, McMahon said. By law, he said, campaign signs must be 100 feet from the last interior door before a polling place, not the building’s entrance. This means that, depending on the polling setup, signs “could be right at the door of the building,” McMahon said. Two voters also com plained about voting machine malfunctions, McMahon said. The problems were fixed and did not prevent anyone from voting. The final complaint was about a 17-year-old trying to register to vote, McMahon said, referencing a complaint from Leslie Juby, a Geneva School District 304 Board member, about her daughter’s experience.

ST. CHARLES TOWNSHIP – Kane County’s no-refusal operation last month stopped 10 impaired motorists from driving on St. Patrick’s weekend. Kane County State’s Attorney Joe McMahon shared the results April 1 during his monthly meeting with reporters. No-refusal operations are designed to expedite the booking process for those charged with driving under the influence. Police work with an assistant state’s attorney to quickly obtain a search warrant to compel a DUI suspect to submit to a blood-alcohol level test. Held from 11 p.m. March 15 to 3 a.m. March 16, this was Kane County’s fourth no-refusal event held in conjunction with St. Patrick’s Day

and the 15th conducted since May 2008. Sixteen law enforcement agencies – including the Kane County Sheriff’s Office and the Elburn, Geneva and St. Charles police departments – participated in the operation. Authorities collected 10 blood-alcohol content samples, seven of which were breath samples with readings of 0.103, 0.143, 0.150, 0.164, 0.191, 0.222 and 0.222. The legal limit is 0.08 blood-alcohol content. Three blood samples have been submitted for testing. The 10 individuals charged with DUI are expected in court throughout this month. In other news, the State’s Attorney’s Office received 11 calls on election day last month, McMahon said, describing the nature of the complaints as “relatively mi-

According to the latest data available from the National Institutes of Health, an estimated 2.9 million Americans are living with “low vision.” This term is a catchall phrase for sight that cannot be corrected to (near-)normal with glasses, contact lenses, or surgery. Although it ranges from simply having blurry vision to more serious problems (such as double vision), the immediate consequences of low vision are an inability to perform daily activities such as reading a book or newspaper, crossing the street safely, or cooking a meal. While medicine or surgery does not offer a cure, there are some practical steps that can be taken to maximize remaining sight. These may involve magnifying devices, better lighting, or reading-assisting technology. P.S. The number of Americans suffering from low vision is expected to increase 72 percent by 2030, when the last of the Baby Boomers turns 65.

By AL LAGATTOLLA alagattolla@shawmedia.com A young great horned owl has been reunited with its family at the Settler’s Hill Golf Course, thanks to efforts from volunteers and officials with the Fox Valley Wildlife Center, as well as the golf course. A golfer on April 6 was searching for a ball when he discovered the owl, which had fallen out of a tree. That set in motion an effort to find a way to get the owl back into the tree. That ultimately brought in Ryan DePauw, a St. Charles native and a naturalist experienced in such efforts. On the morning of April 7 Fox Valley Wildlife Center Director Ashley Kendall had been contacted, and she came out to examine the bird. By the afternoon of April 7, DePauw was scaling the tree. The original nest couldn’t be located. DePauw, who volunteers with the wildlife center, brought up a basket to attach to the tree. As volunteers and staff members watched from below, the owl was put into a bag and brought up to DePauw, who put it into the basket. Then, he said, it was time to “climb down and let mom do the rest.” Arden Zick, one of the volunteers and a board member at the wildlife center, said the spectacle was “so rewarding.”

“We’ve got the feeling of hope, and yet we’re nervous because there is no guarantee that it’s going to work,” Zick said. But good news followed quickly. DePauw said he received a call April 8 morning that golf course workers reported that a parent owl had joined the young owl. And Zick said Kendall returned to the site Wednesday and reported that Kendall, too, saw a parent owl in the vicinity. DePauw said he is trained specifically for such work. He said he underwent training and took courses in arboriculture and learned “to help put baby birds back in trees.” He said it’s something that comes up maybe one to four times every year. In this case, he said, it was determined that the young owl might be in danger and “that’s when we intervene.” He said there is urgency for a couple of reasons. If there are no siblings, parents might not continue to wait if they cannot locate their young. And also, he said, it could have been in danger from a coyote. Zick said the effort was impressive and said the staff from the golf course had been “as excited and hopeful as we were.” “It really was a team effort of people who wanted to see this little bird reunited with its parents,” she said.

STUDENT KEEPS ON TRUCKIN’ St. Charles resident’s design chosen to grace back of Seigle’s delivery trucks By ERIC SCHELKOPF eschelkopf@shawmedia.com

S

t. Charles resident Tyler Courtney remembers visiting the former Seigle’s lumber yard on Randall Road in St. Charles as a youngster. Life has come full-circle for the 24-year-old Elgin Community College student. His design was chosen to be used on the backs of eight delivery trucks for the Elgin-based Seigle’s Cabinet Center. Courtney’s design was chosen out of seven entries submitted by ECC students. Courtney, who is president of ECC’s Spartan Design Club, is studying graphic design and graduates from ECC in May. Kane County Chronicle reporter Eric Schelkopf spoke to Courtney about his winning design, along with Seigle’s President Mark Seigle. Schelkopf: How did you come up with the concept for your design? Courtney: The backs of their trucks were just painted red up to this point. And they told us to come up with concepts. They really left it open-ended. They told us to go at it. That’s where the idea to have a person in the back of the truck, with boxes behind them, that was where my concept came in. We kind of kept it a little open-ended, so the client had room to put in their little personal touches, like their phrase and their theme and stuff like that. Schelkopf: How did Seigle’s work with you on the project? Courtney: They told me that they wanted to use the catch phrase “Get Cookin’.” And they were thinking about having their own employees in the back dressed in kitchen garb. So, from there we had to set up the photo shoot. Mark brought in a photographer, and he and I did the photo shoot. He told me, “I have eight employees and eight trucks. Do you think that’s doable?” I told him, yeah, we can definitely do that.

It’s going to be an individual design for each truck. Because it’s such a big image and you need such a high resolution, I had to take for each one of the trucks three different images, three different photographs, and put them all together. There’s a total of eight designs featuring eight different employees. Schelkopf: I understand this was the first time you had directed a photo shoot. Did you feel overwhelmed? Courtney: It was definitely nerve-wracking at first, not so much because I didn’t think I could do it, but more so because this was a really big opportunity for me and I wanted to do everything I could possibly do to show myself off. It’s a big client, and it’s a name that I’ve known my whole life growing up here. Schelkopf: What was the biggest challenge of the project? Courtney: Making sure that all the seams aligned. You have to make sure that everything lines up perfect. Schelkopf: Would you like to do more projects like this in the future? Courtney: Yes. It really pushed me. The more I can learn, the more opportunities I have. Schelkopf: Mark, what do you like about the design? Mark Seigle: It’s exactly what we wanted. We wanted people to take notice, and they have.

MYSTERY DINER Restaurant reviews

W

hat sets Isacco’s Kitchen in St. Charles apart from other Italian restaurants in the area is the food. The family-owned restaurant serves recipes hailing from Northern Italy, a pleasant differentiation from the usual southern-Italian cuisine served at most Italian eateries. Isacco’s dinner menu items include homemade duck ravioli, with sage, butter, smoked prosciutto and Parmigianino; Berkshire pork chop Milanese on a saffron risotto; and braised short ribs cannelloni with sautéed spinach and mushroom in a port reduction. A cheery, yellow building situated on a side-street behind downtown St. Charles’ busy Route 64, Isacco’s Kitchen has an outdoor dining area that is a perfect spot to eat and drink in the warmer months. The restaurant has covered outdoor dining with ivory curtains that sway in the breeze, in addition to its cobbled patio decorated by a canopy of café lights. A quaint, relaxing atmosphere awaits inside. The bar area exudes rustic charm with earthy features such as wood and a Napa Valley wine barrel anchoring the center of the room. The relaxed vibe continues around the corner into the intimate dining room. Isacco’s is comparable in price to St. Charles’ other Italian restaurants, with entrée prices ranging from $18 to $28 for dinner. If that’s too expensive, then visit for lunch. You can get some of the same entrees for less. Isacco’s dishes are made to order and use fresh ingredients, including hand-made pasta. My dining companion and I visited for lunch on a Friday and had the place to ourselves. The service was impeccable, and the food matched. The restaurant also has an extensive wine list. Our table was fit with a brown bag filled with a few pieces of warm bread and a scoop of butter on the side. Each menu item is thoughtfully prepared and creative. I ordered the Crab Ravioli Diablo with shrimp and scallops in a spicy vodka sauce, which is available on the lunch menu for $18 and on the dinner menu for $26. Normally not one for spiciness, as it has a tendency to overpower other flavor components in a dish, I decided to take a chance on the recommendation – a risk well worth the reward. The

My dining companion ordered the Seared Ahi Tuna Salad ($15) layered with mango papaya salsa and avocado. The searing on the tuna was perfection, and the fruit gave the salad a citrusy zest that reinvigorated the tuna. The dish is a perfect choice for outdoor dining as it is healthy, cool and refreshing. Don’t expect entrée leftovers from Isacco’s Kitchen; the dishes have just enough to stave off hunger, but not enough to put you into food coma. My dining companion and I each finished the complimentary bread and may as well have licked our plates clean. Other dishes that caught my eye were the fried dates and beet salad ($10) with goat cheese and balsamic dressing; butternut squash ravioli ($12) with salsiccia and creamy asiago sauce; Ossobuco ravioli ($14) with Italian bacon, sage-butter sauce and pistachio; and the mushroom risotto ($14) with chicken, to name a few. During our inaugural visit to Isacco’s, our waiter told us to start from the top of the menu and on subsequent visits work our way down, because – as first-timers – we would probably be back. At Isacco’s, that’s a commitment worth honoring.

BATAVIA – Statistician Edward Tufte will show that the gap between art and mathematics is smaller than one may think. Tufte will use the computational visualization methods developed by Nobel Prize-winning physicist Richard Feynman to create cerebral works of art. Beginning Saturday, April 12, Tufte will show many of his pieces at Fermilab in Batavia, for a 10-week exhibit illuminating Feynman’s diagrams, which still define how physicists visualize the phenomena they study, according to a news release. Made of stainless steel, Tufte’s sculptures bring Feynman’s diagrams to three-dimensional life. Tufte’s installation will fill the second-floor art gallery in Fermilab’s Wilson Hall and will open on the evening of April 12, with a special lecture at 7 p.m. and a concert at 8 p.m. by Huun-Huur-Tu, a group of throat singers from the small region of Tuva. Tufte’s installation, titled “The Cognitive Art of Feynman Diagrams,” is the centerpiece of a visual and auditory Feynman celebration at the laboratory, one that will include a lecture, a concert and the display of a van and an Airstream trailer, also known as the “Interplanetary Explorer.” The Fermilab site is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. Tufte himself will be available to kick off the exhibit with a reception in Fermilab’s Wilson Hall from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 16. The public is invited to attend the reception for free, but space is limited. To register, visit www. fnal.gov/pub/tufte/register.html. “This is going to be an extraordinary set of events here at the laboratory,” said Fermilab Director Nigel Lockyer in the release. “It’s an honor for us to host an artist and designer of Edward Tufte’s prominence and to be able to tie his exhibit into a larger retrospective of the life and work of Richard Feynman.” Feynman’s friend, Ralph Leighton – as a special part of Fermilab’s Feynman celebration – will deliver a 30-minute talk before the April 12 concert, titled “Richard Feynman’s Fantasy: The Marvelous Stamps of Tannu Tuva.” Leighton also will bring with him the famous “Feynman van.” Purchased by Feynman in 1975, the Dodge Tradesman Maxivan is adorned with images of Feynman diagrams. Feynman used the van not only to commute to and from work when he was a professor at the California Institute of Technology, but also to explore remote areas of the American West with his family during summer vacations. After Feynman’s death in 1988, Leighton inherited the van and used it in 1993 to transport the Tuvan throat singers during their first tour of California. The Feynman van, along with Tufte’s “Interplanetary Explorer,” will be on display outside Wilson Hall for the duration of Tufte’s exhibit and can be viewed from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week. Tickets for Huun-Huur-Tu’s performance are $28 and can be purchased by calling 630-840-2787 or visiting the box office online at www.fnal.gov/culture/ NewArts/arts_tickets.shtml. The concert begins at 8 p.m. in the Ramsey Auditorium, with the pre-concert lecture by Leighton beginning at 7 p.m.

There’s nothing cheap about Fox Valley Repertory’s ‘Dozen’ By KARA SILVA ksilva@shawmedia.com

F

ox Valley Repertory’s production of “Cheaper by the Dozen” is an invitation into the living room and lives of one extraordinary family. Based on the beloved American memoir by siblings Frank and Ernestine Gilbreth, the coming-of-age comedy – adapted by Christopher Sergel – is a relatable story of teenage rebellion, selfishness, sacrifice, love and the preciousness of time spent, even if efficiently, together as a family. Directed by Vance Smith, the show begins with two of the older Gilbreth siblings (played by Grace Etzkorn and Josh Greiveldinger) looking back on their childhood during the time immediately preceding the death of the family patriarch and king of efficiency, Frank Gilbreth Sr. (Michael Dailey), in the 1920s. The title of the biographical story comes from a favorite joke made by the childrens’ father when asked why he and his wife (played by Laura Sturm) had so many kids. He would respond, “You know, they come cheaper by the dozen!” With 12 kids to wrangle, Frank Gilbreth Sr. rules the roost by means of dictatorship posing as “democracy.” His “what-I-say-goes” parenting style is relatable, as well as humorous, especially as the eldest daughters start taking stock in the problems that plague any angst-fueled teenage girl – boys. The show employs 13 cast members and 10 understudies as Fox Valley Rep’s largest acting company in its history of professional productions, according to artistic director John Gawlik. Eleven actors hail from Fox Valley Rep’s own performing arts academy, including Nathan Castagna (Fred), 12, of Geneva; and Erika (Lillian), 12, and Keira Denker (Jackie), 10, of St. Charles. The meticulously-designed living-room set stays the same throughout the show, but the

Etzkorn delivers a natural and distinct performance as Ernestine, breathing life, subtle variation and well-timed humor into her role. It comes as no surprise that the high school junior also recently appeared on the NBC television series “Chicago Fire” as Sophie; she is a talented actress who has the goods. Kelsey Sante, who has trained with Acting Studio Chicago and Columbia College, also delivers an adept performance as Anne, the eldest daughter. The final scene is weighted by the foretold gravitas of events to come, especially since many of the characters are unaware of what is about to happen or even that their father is sick. The emotionality of the scene was not lost, which a quick scan of the crowd confirmed. Audience members wiped away tears over an inevitable and greatly feared part of life – the death of a parent.

Rich Harvest Farms owner Jerry Rich (third from left) has continued to work on growing the International Crown since the LPGA announced the event in January 2013.

Rich Harvest Farms to host LPGA tourney By KEVIN DRULEY

You wanna Crown ‘em?

kdruley@shawmedia.com Rich Harvest Farms owner Jerry Rich watched the week of March 31’s announcement of the inaugural LPGA International Crown field online. That’s about the only part of the operation he’s approached stagnantly. With the biennial Crown coming to Rich’s Sugar Grove golf course in 2016 – and ideally beyond – after July’s debut event at Caves Valley in Owings Mills, Md., there’s hardly been a hiccup in preparation. “This is really something that’ll be very, very special,” Rich said April 3, “especially the way that we’re going about energizing all the ethnic groups in Chicago.”

The United States enters July’s inaugural LPGA International Crown at Caves Valley in Owings Mills, Md., as the top seed among eight teams. Stacy Lewis, Paula Creamer, Lexi Thompson and Cristie Kerr will comprise the U.S. team. Creamer and Kerr were part of the American Solheim Cup squad at Sugar Grove’s Rich Harvest Farms in 2009. Rich Harvest will host the Crown in 2016.

More expansive than the United States-against-Europe format of the complementary Solheim Cup, which Rich Harvest hosted in 2009, the International Crown is composed of 32

players from eight countries. Working with LPGA officials, Rich helped launch the four-day match-play competition after routinely consulting the Rolex World Rankings and noticing the global scale. The same rankings helped determine the Crown field. The United States, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Spain, Sweden, Chinese Taipei and Australia will participate at Caves Valley. Rich and Co. are seeking a corporate sponsor that would help Rich Harvest become the Crown’s long-term venue Rich said 450 volunteers already are on board for 2016. Almost 1,600 volunteers boosted the effort in 2009, when the Solheim Cup attracted about 120,000 spectators over four days.

“So the communities around Sugar Grove – and that takes in quite an area; I mean, through Kane County and what have you – everybody is extremely excited about it,” Rich said. Among the Solheim gallery were 4,000 to 5,000 Illinois prep girls athletes invited to the grounds. Rich, persistently committed to growing golf, still finds fuel in those bygone conversations. “I talked to a lot of them, and they said, ‘Mr. Rich, you know, we didn’t even know what the Solheim Cup was,’ ” Rich said. “They had never heard of it until we invited them, and they came on the grounds and they learned all about it and they said, ‘Wow, this is really something.’ ”

With a special event for high school and junior high girls players from five states coming to Rich Harvest later this year, Rich’s staff remains busy with more urgent matters, as well. The course, home of the Northern Illinois men’s and women’s golf teams, also will host a 2014 NCAA men’s regional and The Western Golf Association’s 2015 Western Amateur and 2017 Centennial Western Junior. Rich, an NIU alumnus, speaks passionately about each endeavor, but for now, the Crown arguably puts the biggest glint in his eye. “It’s so everybody can benefit,” he said. “The county as well as the communities. That’s what it’s all about at the end of the day.”

to celebrate and support your school library and your neighborhood library, and to learn more about what makes libraries great. There’s something special about libraries — they are quiet places to think, read and build your brain power while surrounded by good books. When you’re in need of something good to read, never underestimate the power of a good library — and a good librarian — to help you. Children’s librarians are excellent resources to help you ind the books you want to read, whether an adventure story to keep you enthralled, a funny book to make you giggle or a history book to help you learn about the past. There’s always another book out there to read, so take advantage of your library resources, and ask your librarian for help inding a good book.

D.E.A.R. motto D.E.A.R. is a motto you might see around your school or library. It stands for “Drop everything and read,” and serves as a reminder to ind some time, every day, to sit down and read a book. This month, make a promise to ind at least 20 minutes every day to drop everything and read. To help you do that, follow these steps to make a D.E.A.R. diary to keep track of

ANGELS FROM THE ATTIC

bIGSToCk.CoM

the books you are reading. For your D.E.A.R. time, it doesn’t matter what you’re reading, as long as you have your nose in a book. Just pick one of your favorites.

Create a diary Here are a few steps to help you make a D.E.A.R. diary:

1

Grab about 15 pieces of paper. Should be 8.5 x 11, either ruled or unruled.

2

Stack the paper together and fold them in half, so they resemble a book.

3

Find a stapler, and place two staples along the fold. Alternatively, you can punch two holes in the fold. Use a piece of ribbon or yarn to tie the book together through the holes.

4

Use crayons, pencils or markers to create a cover that is in-

spired by books. Make it creative and fun.

5

Read for 20 minutes each day. After each time you read, spend the next five to 10 minutes writing a short reflection about what you read that day. If you are inspired to draw, you can do that, too. Make sure to write down the date and the time you spent reading.

6

At the end of the month, you should have a good record of all the books you read that month. Drop everything and read doesn’t have to be for kids only — big brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, grandma and grandpa, and even mom and dad can dedicate time to reading every day. This April, encourage your whole family to get together and read!
