4 Albany Lions Club donates to Albany Fire Protection District The Albany Lions Club donated $2,000 to the Albany Fire Protection District on Tuesday, April 5. The funds will be used to purchase grain bin rescue equipment. POLICE/FIRE REPORTS Morrison Police

Arrests On Saturday, April 2, about 1:35 a.m., Morrison police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Wendy L. Davis, 56, of Morrison in the area of North Jackson Street and East Lincolnway for a moving violation. As a result of the stop, Morrison police arrested and charged Davis with speeding and driving under the influence (alcohol). Davis was transported to the Whiteside County Jail, processed and released on a notice to appear. Citations March 31: Erik C. Martinez Romero, 32, Maywood, disobeyed traffic control device and driving while license suspended April 1: Jessica N. Russell, 39, Clinton, Iowa, no valid registration

April 2: Tod R. Goodell, 23, Fulton, operating uninsured vehicle April 2: Kristine J. Janssen, 53, Groveland, speeding April 3: Tyler C. Heymann, 19, Fulton, operating uninsured vehicle April 6: Krista M. Baker, 45, Morrison, speeding

The public is reminded these are charges and all people are presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.

ISP District 1 activity for March

Illinois State Police District 1 Commander Capt. Matthew Hodgdon announced District 1 enforcement figures and activity for March. Illinois State Police District 1 Troopers issued 324 citations and 442 written warnings and made 16 criminal arrests

during the month of March. Speeding accounted for 170 citations. There were 26 arrests for no valid driver’s license or driving while license suspended/ revoked. Troopers investigated 14 traffic crashes, assisted 102 motorists and conducted 86 commercial motor vehicle inspections, 14 of which were placed out of service for safety reasons. There were six arrests for driving under the influence. District 1, which encompasses Carroll, Lee, Ogle and Whiteside counties, investigated one fatal traffic crash in March.

RCFPD monthly report for March

Volunteers with the Rapids City Fire Protection District responded to 42 calls for assistance in March. A breakdown of those calls: Village of Rapids City – Five EMS calls

and one traffic accident. Village of Port Byron – 11 EMS calls. Fire Protection District (Rural) – 15 EMS calls, two traffic accidents, two structure fires, one field fire and one brush fire. Automatic aid was given to the Hillsdale Fire Department for one traffic accident, one power pole fire, one field fire and one structure fire. The Fire Protection District is in need of volunteers.
