Whether you need space for a meeting or a place to play after work, the St. Charles Park District has the perfect venue to make your next event a success. The District is more than playgrounds and soccer fields. Plan a picnic at one of 10 outdoor pavilions available for rental at destinations like Mt. St. Mary Park, Delnor Woods or Primrose Farm where guests can mingle with the barnyard residents.
Indoor locations at Hickory Knolls Discovery Center and the Henry Rockwell Baker Memorial Community Center provide beautiful venues for a holiday banquet or ample meeting space with technology to assist with training programs. Elevate the office fun with unique programs to get people moving and having fun. Sportsplex has indoor turf fields that can be rented for a game of dodgeball. Pottawatomie Community Center and Haines Gymnasium offer sport courts for basketball, volleyball or pickleball. Hickory Knolls Discovery Center is a unique nature-themed facility where guests can visit resident critters and explore nature education exhibits. Its spacious rooms with outdoor access are the perfect venue for weddings, parties or business meetings. Take nature to another level and plan a company outing that includes a nature hike. And for something everyone will remember, plan an event aboard a historic Paddlewheel Riverboat. Cruising down the Fox River, May through October, is a wonderful way to take in nature’s beauty. Private charter cruises can accommodate any type of gathering such as a business outing, celebrating a special occasion — even rehearsal dinners, bridal or baby showers and fundraisers. The Riverboats can
accommodate 90 passengers for a sightseeing tour or 40 guests for a seated meal event. Check out one of the Park District themed cruises, from after work happy-hour cruises to family-friendly events. Cruises depart from and return to Pottawatomie Park. Purchase tickets at www.stcriverboats.com. Sunset cruises are a favorite way to unwind and pair well with dinner at a local downtown location. Pottawatomie Park also offers a 9-hole golf course. The short course is a perfect way to hit the links and enjoy a beverage in about two hours. While green fees are reasonable, players can find discounts using a punch card or golfing during twilight hours. If putt-putt is more your game, River View Miniature golf Course features 18 holes of challenges for all. Mini-golf PARties add a fun twist to a business outing and family gathering. Need a healthy break? John B. Norris Recreation Center has a little of everything, from yoga to tennis, weight training to lap swim, making it easy to stay active. Take advantage of daily drop-in rates as well as memberships for the whole family including childcare services. Research shows spending time in nature is good for mental and physical health. The St. Charles Park District offers peaceful retreats and busy destinations. Cycle along a trail or try out disc golf. There are even three dog parks for you and your furry friend to enjoy time outdoors together. Check out the Adult Activity Center for those ages 50 and older, where members can find a calendar full of activities from lunches and lectures to bridge and billiards. Whether you’re interested in finding a new hobby, meeting friends or volunteering in the community there is something for every interest. St. Charles Park District is the place to enrich your experience and build new connections.
DID YOU KNOW? The St. Charles Area Chamber of Commerce partners often with the St. Charles Park District on lots of fun, outdoor events! In the last year, events have been held at Pottawatomie Park, Ferson Creek Park, Mt. St. Mary Park and Baker Community Center.
