The Kansas Children’s
facility located north of West Edge Road and 37th Street. The entrance begins with a 60-foot covered bridge and continues through to meditation and rock gardens, annual and perennial beds, rose and water gardens, a gazebo, pergola, pagoda, waterfalls and several ponds. An arboretum with 120 species of trees is just across the street.

Campground Policies
• Laundry facilities are available at the shower buildings. • Ice, firewood, worms are sold at the office from April 15-
Oct. 15. • Showers and restroom facilities are located at the entrance area and north end of the campground. • Animals must be under control of the owner and on a leash 10-feet or less. • A dump station is available for use. Fee is $8 for noncampers. • Keep your campsite clean and free of trash. Leave no trace.

A $6 fee is assessed to those parties wishing to set up a tent behind a camping unit or a second tent in specified sites.
Individual Reservations
• Reservations are accepted on a 180-day rolling basis. • Reservations can be made online or by calling the office at 785-251-6834. • Refunds will not be issued for unused sites.

All areas are available 6 a.m.-11 p.m. daily, unless otherwise posted, and are stocked regularly by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks and Tourism regulations apply. Lake Shawnee is stocked in the spring and fall with trout. Barrierfree fishing docks are available at Westlake, Central Park Pond, Clarion Woods Pond and Lake Shawnee, which also features a heated fishing dock. The Kansas Children’s Discovery Center is a hands-on children’s museum where children can explore, create, discover and learn through play. Children with their caregivers can play in 15,000 square feet of indoor education exhibits, including science, careers, building and art, plus a special place for babies and toddlers, and a 4.5-acre certified Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom to inspire a lifelong love of learning for every child.

The insatiable curiosity of Curious George – the little monkey who has captured the imagination and hearts of millions of children and adults for 65 years – comes to life at the Kansas Children’s Discovery Center. Curious George: Let’s Get Curious!, will introduce young children to Curious George’s world and lead visitors on a fun, meaningful interactive math, science and engineering-based adventure. The Discovery Kindergarten Fair is a community-wide celebration of all things kindergarten! The Discovery Center opens with free admission and dozens of community partners on-hand to offer activities, learning resources, health screenings, and more.
