Department: Office of Strategic Communications Reports To : Executive Director of Content Planning and Intelligence Position Type: Staff Position Summary: The bilingual content producer performs assigned writing and editing duties, such as writing for stories for the NJIT Newsroom, marketing and PR copy and other publications with consideration for Spanish-speaking audiences and cultures. Essential Functions: - Responsible for a wide variety of assignments, such as writing and/or editing internal and external communications, copywriting, letters, emails, news/feature stories, media pitches, press releases, and website content. - Provide brand and quality control for external department and organizational efforts by writing, proofreading and/or editing a wide variety of communications pieces, including emails, letters, notices, programs, magazines, website content, press releases, news/feature stories, internal and external communications, etc. - Cultivate relationships with faculty and staff so as to create content suitable for various target audiences.
DEPARTMENT OF LABOR & WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
Position Summary: Reporting to the Vice President for Development & Alumni Relations, and exercising a high degree of strategic thinking, creativity, and independence, the Senior Development Officer for the College of Science & Liberal Arts and the Martin Tuchman School of Management (SDO-CSLA and MTSM) will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, securing, and stewarding gifts and pledges of $25,000+ in support of key priorities, initiatives, and programs in the two colleges the position serves as well as those of the university as a whole. In collaboration with other members of NJIT’s alumni and development team, the SDO-CSLA and MTSM will play an integral role in achieving annual fundraising objectives and goals. She or he will collaborate with colleagues across the campus, including, in particular, the Deans of the College of Science & Liberal Arts and the Martin Tuchman School of Management, as well as NJIT’s President and Provost, to understand funding priorities and to engage them, as necessary and/or appropriate, to build strong donor relationships and secure significant gifts. To this end, the SDO-CSLA and MTSM will manage a portfolio of ~125 high-value prospects and donors, including successful alumni, wealthy families, and corporate leaders (mainly CEOs and other C-suite officers). S/he will have the opportunity both to deepen relationships with existing donors to NJIT and to conduct discovery work to identify and cultivate new prospects.

Under general supervision, researches, composes, organizes and executes the delivery of information, internally and externally; composes press releases, speeches, newsletters, award nominations, annual reports, email marketing campaigns and other marketing assets on various platforms for the promotion of NJHMFA programs and products; serves as the primary point of contact for the media and other state departments; monitors the public relations environment and ensures the nature of this environment is communicated to executive, the administration, related business partners, including the press. Performs related duties and reports as required. Research, compose, organize and execute the delivery of information utilizing highly skilled communication techniques in promoting the growth and reputation of HMFA, internally and externally. Compose press releases, speeches, newsletters, award nominations, annual reports, email marketing campaigns and other marketing assets on various platforms for the promotion of HMFA programs and products. Serve as the primary point of contact for the media and other state departments; monitor the public relations environment and ensure the nature of this environment is communicated to the Executive Team, the administration, and related business partners, including the press.
