FINANCIAMENTO HABITACIONAL BRASILEIRO The hiring of housing finance for the acquisition and construction of housing units amounted, in 2012, R$ 76.53 billion, representing 1.74% of GDP. The average annual growth observed since 2007 is approx. 35%, which represents a strong advance in the period.

In the last 12 months, from July 2012 to June 2013 were granted new housing loans amounting to R$ 89.65 billion (461,149 units), compared with U.S. $ 74.57 billion (441.206 units) between July 2011 and June 2012, representing an increase of 20%.

BRAZILIAN HOUSING DEFICIT
•
The indicators show that in the period 2007-2011 there was an improvement in the housing deficit in both nominal and absolute. In nominal terms, there was a 1.2% down in the period (10% in 2007 to 8.8% in 2011). In absolute terms the housing deficit amounted to approximately 5.4 million households. 2007

DÉFICIT HABITACIONAL BRASILEIRO •
Indices by region indicate that, in relative terms, there is a strong concentration of the deficit in the North (13.1% in 2011) and Northeast (11.6% in 2011). The Northeast region showed the largest drop in relative terms (2 pp - 13.6% in 2007 to 11.6% in 2011). In absolute terms, the greatest reduction was observed in the Southeast, approx. 150,000 households (2.1 million in 2007 to 1.94 million in 2011). YEAR
