SCHOLARSHIPS & AWARDS
SCHOLARSHIPS At Shebbear College we offer a range of Scholarships to reflect academic, sporting, musical, creative or artistic talent. We also offer Shebbearian Awards to candidates who excel in all areas of school life. SIXTH FORM OSA SCHOLARSHIP The Old Shebbearians’ Association (OSA) is committed to providing a Shebbear College education to pupils from all sectors of the community, regardless of household income. There are two OSA Scholarships available each year to talented and gifted pupils entering the Sixth Form which can account for a reduction in fees. These Awards are aimed at pupils that would benefit from the educational experience on offer in the Shebbear College Sixth Form, but whose family is not in a position to cover the full fees. OSA Scholars should be able to demonstrate outstanding academic and/or co-curricular achievements and talent which would further enhance our vibrant Sixth Form. Scholarships are awarded based on GCSE predictions, an interview and a means tested bursary.
SHEBBEARIAN AWARDS FOR ENTRY INTO THE SENIOR SCHOOL & SIXTH FORM In addition to the Scholarships listed, we also offer Shebbearian Awards to candidates who are above average academically but can also demonstrate excellence in at least one other area of the school curriculum. Usually Scholars will specialise in Sport, Art, Drama or Music but excellence in other areas may be taken into consideration where there is a particular talent. Shebbearian Awards are available to outstanding pupils in all year groups across the Senior School and Sixth Form.
HOW TO APPLY Scholarships are awarded annually in January, when we hold auditions and interviews. Although we have set dates each January, in some cases, assessments and auditions can be arranged all year round, and Scholarships can be offered throughout the year at the Head’s discretion, depending on availability. Application forms will be available from the Admissions Department. Please contact our Registrar, Emily, on 01409 282009 or admissions@shebbearcollege.co.uk for more information on Scholarships and how to apply.
