Hope everyone enjoyed their Labor Day Weekend! Whether you found time to enjoy the County Fair over the weekend or simply enjoy the nice weather, I hope you were able to make it back to work (and school) on time this week!
We wrapped up August with the annual Sheboygan County Chamber Golf Outing at Town & Country Golf Course last week. It was a great time full of golf, laughter, food, drinks, and many prizes. We couldn’t have done it without the support of our wonderful Ambassadors and Sponsors. Thank you all for your investment in the local community.
September is recognized as Chamber of Commerce month and therefore provides a time to celebrate our Chamber’s successes and our amazing members. We have a variety of events scheduled throughout the month to bring members together and build stronger relationships. I encourage you to visit the Chamber calendar at sheboygan.org and register for these fun events. Additionally, I encourage you to continue to support local.
If you are interested in learning more about what the Chamber does, or how to become more involved within the community, we would like to invite you to our Maximize Your Membership event on September 4th at 7:30 am. Please refer to our website for additional event information and to register.
In late August, we hosted the annual Workforce Development Symposium, welcoming more than 100 educators and employees from throughout Sheboygan County to learn and grow together. We heard updates from Michele Carter from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development and

The annual symposium also allowed us to celebrate Educator of the Year, Jake Frias, Counselor for Random Lake High School. We also recognized the Business Education Partner of the Year, Brianna Heusterberg from United Way PATH. Congratulations to both of our winners and a special thank you to our platinum sponsors, Johnsonville and Sargento. Without you, this event would not have been possible.
Fall will bring cooler weather, changing of the leaves, and new programming opportunities. Don’t forget to purchase your tickets for Oktoberfeast. This event, hosted by the Young Professionals Network and the Sheboygan County Chamber will be held at Nourish Farms on October 10th. This annual event serves as the largest fundraiser of the year and is a great time to mix, mingle, and sample Sheboygan County’s finest appetizers, entrees, and desserts!
As mentioned, we strive to be the best advocate, connector, and information supplier for our Chamber members. Our strategic planning journey has officially begun with the addition of Jamie Schramm, our new Director of Programming and Development. We look forward to mapping out our next three years and how we can provide the best opportunities for our member businesses and communities.
Community Guides are now available! We have begun distributing this guide, but if you are eager for a copy, would like a box to have onsite or a couple of extra copies to share with customers, let us know! You are also welcome to visit us at the Chamber office and pick up copies there. A county map is included as the centerfold of this publication to help show off all the wonderful communities that make Sheboygan County a great place to work, live, and play!
We want you to think BIG (betterment, improvement, growth) and Influence Local! The Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce is committed to providing expertise for fostering dynamic organizations throughout Sheboygan County. We are truly Better Together!
Kierra Brooks - Special Events Coordinator
Hello everyone!
Welcome to September! Let’s remember that “As the seasons change, so do we. May we be aware we are shifting just like the wind.”
This fall, we have some truly exciting events lined up for you!
Kierra Brooks
First, kick off the Packer season with us at our YP Tailgating Party on September 6th from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM in the Chamber parking lot.
Next, don’t miss our “Out to Dinner” event at The Black Pig on September 11th from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM. If you haven’t been there yet, it’s a fantastic spot with delicious entrees, great drinks, and a cozy atmosphere.
Mark your calendars for our annual Oktoberfeast on October 10th from 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM at Nourish Farms. This fundraiser is a crowd favorite! Enjoy food tastings, live music, bucket raffles, and a 50/50 raffle - all while supporting the next generation of leaders and our professional development initiatives.
And be sure to join us for Brews & Brainstorming on October 24th from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM at 3 Sheeps Brewing Co. We’ll provide the beer and pizza, and want to hear your ideas as we plan for next year. These events are perfect for anyone new to the area - great opportunities to meet fellow YPs in a fun and welcoming environment.
Don’t forget to check our social media for event updates and more opportunities.
Our leadership programs started strong last month with SimSoc, and it was inspiring to see both groups in action. We all gained valuable insights, and I hope everyone continues to apply them. This month’s teambuilding activities are set to be just as exciting, if not more. I look forward to seeing the memorable experiences these new classes will create as they develop their leadership skills, community involvement, and relationships. Watch out, world - here they come!
Wishing everyone a September to remember!

Another Baseball Analogy
In case you do not know by now, I enjoy baseball and with the Brewers in 1st Place in their division, could something besides a Division Championship be around the proverbial corner? I hope so and so does the one and only Bob Uecker.
In the August Better Together newsletter, building a ‘farm team’ was the focus because you need to build your employee team for the future. Baseball has 9 position players such as pitcher, catcher, etc. When the scouts are out, they are looking for that next ‘star’ to fill a specific position. But, you can never have too many pitchers in case your ‘ace’ develops a sore arm. What does your team need?
At the recent Manufacturing Roundtable we learned about Red Raider Robotics, INSPIRE WI, Youth Apprenticeship programs and more. We also learned there are many positions within manufacturing to fill such as these:
Training, Procurement, Shipping and Receiving, Sales, Graphic Design, Accounting, IT, Software Development, Operations, Research & development, Quality Control, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Product Development, Customer Service, General Laborer, Facilities, Maintenance, Warehouse, Safety and more!
That is team diversity.
Do you have someone at home reluctant to enter into a manufacturing career? Show them that list and look into the wide varieties of employers here within Sheboygan County. We truly want to have the best team on the ‘field’ playing on our home turf.
So Get Up, Get Up, Get Outta here [and stay here] not gone!
Anna Toman - Director Of Membership Development
We cannot thank you all enough for another fantastic Golf Outing! I was blown away by the number of members who brought non-members to the Outing to participate. As we continue to push out more photos on our website and social media, please forward and share those photos with them. I had not attended one of our Golf Outings previously, but all I can say is ....can we do that every week?! What a blast! I enjoyed seeing and chatting with our members. I’m already looking

forward to next year’s Outing. We have such an amazing staff who worked so hard, but my hat goes off to Ellie, our Director of Events, for a beautifully planned, well-organized event. I’m also grateful to our Ambassadors, who gave their time and worked hard to find raffle and auction items. Many thanks to our Sponsors, both big and small... We could not have done this event without the many people who contributed with their time, talents, and donations: we are truly BETTER TOGETHER and I’m grateful for all of you!
See you Soon,
Anna
