CONTINUING THE TRADITION Lighthouse Country celebrates with the 42nd Annual Fall Fair

The Bow-Horne-Bay Community Club encompasses the communities of Lighthouse Country - Bowser, Horne Lake, Qualicum Bay and Deep Bay and has been going strong since 1970. The Club encourages family involvement and community spirit through hosting community events which in turn help to promote our area's local organizations and businesses. Our primary projects include, the Annual Lighthouse Country Fall Fair, (this year marks the 42nd fair), the Mother’s Day Basket Planting Day, Island Pursuit - Trivia Night at the Hall, the Spring Dance, the Lighthouse Country Garden Tour and Strawberry Tea, and we are a volunteer base for a variety of community events. Funds raised through these events are donated to improvements to the Lighthouse Community Center, & local scholarships. We encourage emergency preparedness within the community by promoting and contributing to the Emergency Social Services. The Bow-Horne-Bay Community Club welcomes new members at any time, please call Sheena at 757-9991

Its time to start planning your entries for the 42nd Annual Lighthouse Country Fall Fair. This year we are hoping for a record number of entries in all the Home Arts categories ... Home Bottled Goods, Pickles, Wine, Baking, Sewing, Crocheting, Knitting, Weaving, Felting... Bring your creations in. Share the joys of your handicrafts. Inspire others to take up rewarding pastimes. We would like to thank our local businesses once again for stepping up to the plate to help fund this community family event . Their donations serve to help us fund the many attractions at the fair, maintaining our mandate to keep the entrance and all our children’s activities FREE for kids. No nickle and diming mom and dad on the fair grounds and no children left on the sidelines for lack of pocket change. A big thank you for helping us reach a new record in our fund raising. Our entertainment line up will be showcasing great local talent on the main stage. Check out the arts and crafts demonstrations in the Lions Hall. Cheer on your favourite canine athlete in the dog sports area in the upper fields or view the British cars assembled behind the Lions hall. Something for everyone. Bring the whole family for a fun filled day. Plan your entries now and enter the fair for prizes, ribbons, trophies and bragging rights. Be part of the 42nd year community tradition. SEE YOU AT THE FAIR Sheena McCorquodale President / BowHorneBay Community Club
