Sexual Assault Awareness on College Campuses
Sexual violence is more prevalent on college campuses compared to other crimes, victims who are students are less likely to report to law enforcement, and college-age adults are at the highest risk for sexual violence than any other age group.
13% of all students experience rape or sexual assault through physical force, violence, or incapacitation (among all graduate and undergraduate students). 23.1% of TGQN (transgender, genderqueer, nonconforming) college students have been sexually assaulted.
Only 20% of female student victims, age 18-24, report their assault to law enforcement. 5.8% of students have experienced stalking since entering college.
