WEEKEND PREVIEW From The Coaches 2019 is shaping up to be a stand out season for the Suns Youth League Women. The addition of a talented new group of players such as Naomi Smith, Vanessa Fantin, Stacey Riding-Hill and Tiarni Fallon has boosted the depth of our squad and helped Suns veterans Rachael Hurd, Bridget Walters and Zoe Haritos take their game to the next level. Our pre-season preparations have been very good, however it was our comprehensive wins in all three practice game that told us this new squad was something special. Having said that, we now have to back up all the hype with a solid win against Whittlesea. Historically, Whittlesea are one of the leagues strongest teams and are known for their tough defence, so it will certainly be a tough ask to get the “W” but we are confident, pumped and primed to take on the challenge.

Youth 2 Women's Head Coach Welcome everyone to the house of the rising sun and to the Senior Women’s first 2019 home game, this is a very exciting time for the club and the senior women’s program. This season sees a brand new team put together over the pre-season and a team that is shaping up very nicely with a number of practise games against Division 1 teams the results have been great. The depth of talent and skill in this team is the best the Suns have had for 5 to 6 seasons. The players and coaching staff are committed to putting this level of basketball at Sherbrooke back on the map and to be a force within the competition, playing a brand of basketball not only attractive to watch, but fun to play. We welcome the Wallan Panthers to our home court knowing that our first up game will be a challenge against a team that played in finals last season. So buckle up everyone and we hope you enjoy the ride.

Sherbrooke Suns BIG V Imports Kraig Shields & Deslyn Applewhaite are offering individual/small group training sessions each Monday and Wednesday evening with all players welcome irrespective of age or skill level. The sessions are conducted at Upwey High School on Monday between 6-7pm and Wednesday evenings between 6-8pm. Sessions will cover all individual offensive and defensive components and can be tailored based on parent/player feedback. Cost schedule as follows; One on One: $30 per hour (single coach) Two participants: $20 ph per person (single coach) Group 3 or more participants: $15 ph per person (single coach) These sessions will be capped at 1:8 coach/player ratio and pre-booking is required.
