The core idea borned from the amalgamation of the two different idea in one furniture piece. The core idea needed a basic understanding of the ergonomics and anthroprometry figures. So taking a deck chair as a case study as a small exercise for the final prototype.

Es Shelf Designed by Konstantin Grcic in 1998 with bold attempt of breaking the concept of a shelf to be straight. Es Shelf wobble and looks like it s on the verge of toppling but all the 9 wooden members and 4 horizontal works as a structural system for the shelf.

Keeping plywood and its proporties and material strength in mind the form of the element is derieved and dimensions of the members also. Increased the length of slits and some of the member length for making it flat-pack design as much as it can be achieved.

Number of the variations are increased to four as a result of the increased dimensions of the slit members.
