Noredin, a police officer in Cairo's corrupt system, investigates the murder of a famous singer at the Nile Hilton Hotel. What initially seems to be a crime of passion turns out to involve members of the powerful Egyptian elite, and Noredin realises he must break the rules in order to obtain justice.
When unassuming and dutiful housewife Nora is forbidden by her husband to take a part-time job, her frustration leads her to join her town’s suffragette movement. Her activism brings humiliation, threats, and the potential end to her marriage, but Nora refuses to back down.
The Square (15)
Westwood: Punk, Icon, Activist (15)
In various languages with English subtitles. A knifesharp satire on art, culture and communication in the digital age. Christian, the respected curator of a contemporary art museum in Stockholm, is gearing up to launch their next show, ‘The Square’, a daring installation examining altruism and our duty to help others. However, Christian's own views on social responsibility are put to the test when he becomes the victim of a scam, forcing him to question the world around him and his place in it.
An intimate and poignant portrait of one of the true cultural icons of our time. Since igniting the punk movement with ex-partner and Sex Pistols’ manager Malcolm McLaren, Vivienne Westwood has been redefining British fashion for over 40 years. A blend of archive, reconstruction and insightful interviews with Vivienne’s fascinating network of collaborators guides us on her journey from a childhood in postwar Derbyshire to the runways of Paris and Milan.

SATURDAY 14 APRIL, 7:30pm | MAREEL £15 Shetland’s Got Talent is an intrinsic, fund-raising element of Cancer Research UK’s ‘Relay for Life’ in Shetland. This fast moving, fun-related, local talent show features a diverse range of local talent of all ages and descriptions, with a panel of local ‘celebrity’ judges providing experienced and constructive feedback to all the performers, before deciding who should go through to the final. The audience then decide the overall winner by placing either £1 coins or notes into individual buckets to support the act of their choice – with the artist(s) attracting the greatest amount of money at the end of the night being declared the winner.

Friday 21 Sept, 10am & 12pm | Saturday 22 Sept, 10am & 11:30am Fresh from sell out runs in Edinburgh and Glasgow in 2017, this five-star show is back and touring Scotland. BambinO is a first operatic adventure for six to 18-month-olds and their carers. Performed by two singers, a cellist and a percussionist, this unique and colourful work reinvents the world of opera for children at an age when their minds are wide open to new sounds, images and experiences. Babies are free to explore during the performance, interacting with the performers and each other. We hope adults might find new ways of enjoying music too – through the ears of their bambini! Written by Scottish Opera’s acclaimed former Composer in Residence Lliam Paterson and directed by Improbable’s ever-imaginative Phelim McDermott.
