FROZEN Walt Disney Animation Studios, the studio behind Tangled and Wreck-It Ralph, presents Frozen, a stunning big-screen comedy adventure. Fearless optimist Anna (voiced by Kristen Bell) sets off on an epic journey - teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (voiced by Jonathan Groff) and his loyal reindeer Sven - to find her sister Elsa (voiced by Idina Menzel), whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom.

THE MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL Showing from: Fri 3 Jan Tickets on sale: Tue 17 Dec Gonzo as Dickens tells the story to Rizzo. One Christmas Eve, miserly Scrooge (Michael Caine) reluctantly gives Bob Cratchit (Kermit) Chrismas Day off, unpaid. That night, three spirits visit him. The first takes him back to his youth when he lost the beautiful Belle; the second shows him the penurious Cratchits in the present; the third shows a possible future - him dead and unlamented and the Cratchits mourning the loss of Tiny Tim. Awakening, Scrooge distributes largesse to all, and Gonzo/Dickens says he has changed forever... A Christmas Classic for all the family.

SAVING MR. BANKS Two-time Academy Award-winner Emma Thompson and fellow double Oscar-winner Tom Hanks star in the untold backstory of how Disney’s classic Mary Poppins made it to the screen. When Walt Disney’s daughters begged him to make a movie of their favourite book, P.L. Travers’ Mary Poppins, he made them a promise one that he didn’t realize would take 20 years to keep. In his quest to obtain the rights, Walt comes up against a curmudgeonly, uncompromising writer who has absolutely no intention of letting her beloved magical nanny get mauled by the Hollywood machine. It is only when he reaches into his own childhood that Walt discovers the truth about the ghosts that haunt her, and together they set Mary Poppins free to ultimately make one of the most endearing films in cinematic history.

FAST & FURIOUS 6 Showing from: Fri 3 Jan Tickets on sale: Tue 17 Dec Showing in tribute to the late Paul Walker. The old firm of Dom and Brian are here to do the dirty work, but the twist this time is that their old adversary Agent Hobbs wants them to neutralise a team of lethal mercenaries led by the ruthless Owen Shaw. Having just trousered $100 million for eliminating another criminal mastermind in episode five, Dom and Brian don’t really need the work, but Hobbs’ offer of full pardons is tempting, and the discovery that Dom’s ex-lover Letty is Shaw’s deputy amply justifies their involvement.

CINEMA PARADISO Showing from: Fri 3 Jan Tickets on sale: Tue 17 Dec Italian language film with English subtitles. A winner of awards across the world including Best Foreign Language Film Oscar, 5 BAFTA Awards including Best Actor, Original Screenplay and Score, the Grand Prize of the Jury at the Cannes Film Festival and many more. Soon memories of all the high and lows that shaped his life come flooding back, as Salvatore reconnects with the community he left 30 years earlier.

ANCHORMAN: THE LEGEND CONTINUES

THE INNOCENTS

Showing from: Fri 27 Dec

Tickets on sale: Tue 17 Dec

With the 70’s behind him, San Diego’s top rated newsman, Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), returns to the news desk in Anchorman: The Legend Continues. Also back for more are Ron’s co-anchor and wife, Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), weather man Brick Tamland (Steve Carell), man on the street Brian Fontana (Paul Rudd) and sports guy Champ Kind (David Koechner) - all of whom won’t make it easy to stay classy...while taking the nation’s first 24-hour news channel by storm.

Miss Giddens (Deborah Kerr) agrees to tutor two orphaned children, Miles and Flora, at Bly House. But she gradually becomes convinced that the children are possessed by the perverse spirits of former governess Miss Jessel and her Heathcliffe-like lover Quint. Are the ghosts the products of Miss Giddens’ fevered imagination or a displacement of her shock at the sexually precocious behaviour of ten-year-old Miles? Is she the protector or the corrupter? Now widely considered to be one of the greatest of all ghost stories on film, The Innocents continues to inspire today’s ‘haunted house’ movies.

COMPUTER CHESS Showing from: Fri 10 Jan Tickets on sale: Tue 7 Jan Set over the course of a weekend tournament for chess software programmers circa 1980, Computer Chess transports viewers to a nostalgic moment when the contest between technology and the human spirit seemed a little more up for grabs. MANDELA: LONG WALK TO FREEDOM

GONE WITH THE WIND

Showing from: Fri 10 Jan

Showing from: Fri 10 Jan

Tickets on sale: Tue 7 Jan

Tickets on sale: Tue 7 Jan

This epic motion picture spans Mandela’s extraordinary life, from his childhood in a rural village through to his inauguration as the first democratically elected President of South Africa. MANDELA is the thrilling story of an ordinary man who rose to the challenge of his times and triumphed - an intimate portrait of the making of a modern icon.

The mother of all event movies returns to the big screen in a glittering new digitally restored print: the story of kittenish belle Scarlett O’Hara (Vivien Leigh), a pampered princess of the old south, her love for the doomed and self-consciously gallant gentleman Ashley Wilkes (Leslie Howard), and the fascination that a certain handsome rogue – Rhett Butler, unforgettably incarnated by Clark Gable – conceives for her.

THE WOLF OF WALL STREET Showing from: Fri 17 Jan Tickets on sale: Tue 14 Jan Revered filmmaker Martin Scorsese directs the true story of New York stockbroker Jordan Belfort (Leonardo DiCaprio). From the American dream to corporate greed, Belfort goes from penny stocks and righteousness to IPOs and a life of corruption in the late 80s. Excess success and affluence in his early twenties as founder of the brokerage firm Stratton Oakmont warranted Belfort the title “The Wolf of Wall Street.” Money. Power. Women. Drugs. Temptations were for the taking and the threat of authority was irrelevant. For Jordan and his wolf pack, modesty was quickly deemed overrated and more was never enough.

THE HARRY HILL MOVIE Showing from: Fri 17 Jan Tickets on sale: Tue 14 Jan What would you do if you thought your hamster only had a week to live, your chickens are attacking you with machine guns, and your Nan is just not giving you the space to spread your wings? When Harry and his petrol drinking Nan (Julie Walters) discover their hamster is seriously ill they set off on a road trip to Blackpool pursued by a lunatic vet (Simon Bird). Along the way, Harry falls in love with an undersea shell person (Sheridan Smith), witnesses canine superstars The Dachsund Five, and meets indie rock band The Magic Numbers - who run a B’n’B. Based on a true story, it’s all singing, all dancing family entertainment from the big collared loon himself.

KILL YOUR DARLINGS Showing from: Fri 17 Jan Tickets on sale: Tue 14 Jan Daniel Radcliffe stars as Beat Generation icon Allen Ginsberg in this biopic set during the famed poet’s early years at Columbia University, and centring on a murder investigation involving Ginsberg, his handsome classmate Lucien Carr, and fellow Beat author William Burroughs. Ginsberg (Radcliffe) is a young student at Columbia University when he falls hopelessly under the spell of charismatic classmate Carr (Dane DeHaan). Alongside Carr, Ginsberg manages to strike up friendships with aspiring writers William Burroughs (Ben Foster) and Jack Kerouac (Jack Huston). Meanwhile, an older outsider named David Krammerer falls madly in love with Carr. Later, when Krammerer dies under mysterious circumstances, police arrest Kerouac, Burroughs and Carr as potential suspects.

AMERICAN HUSTLE Showing from: Fri 24 Jan Tickets on sale: Tue 21 Jan

BIG BAD WOLVES Showing from: Fri 17 Jan Tickets on sale: Tue 14 Jan A series of brutal murders puts the lives of three men on a collision course: the father of the latest victim now out for revenge, a vigilante police detective operating outside the boundaries of law, and the main suspect in the killings - a religious studies teacher arrested and released due to a police blunder.

A fictional film set in the alluring world of one of the most stunning scandals to rock our nation, American Hustle tells the story of brilliant con man Irving Rosenfeld (Christian Bale), who along with his equally cunning British partner Sydney Prosser (Amy Adams) is forced to work for a wild FBI agent Richie DiMaso (Bradley Cooper). DiMaso pushes them into a world of Jersey powerbrokers and mafia that’s as dangerous as it is enchanting. Jeremy Renner is Carmine Polito, the passionate, volatile, New Jersey political operator caught between the con-artists and Feds. Irving’s unpredictable wife Rosalyn (Jennifer Lawrence) could be the one to pull the thread that brings the entire world crashing down. Like David O. Russell’s previous films, American Hustle defies genre, hinging on raw emotion, and life and death stakes.

THE JUNGLE BOOK Showing from: Fri 24 Jan Tickets on sale: Tue 21 Jan Disney animation inspired by Rudyard Kipling’s “Mowgli” story. Mowgli is a boy who has been raised by wolves in the Indian jungle. On his way to the village, Mowgli meets many animal characters in this musical tale. When Shere Kahn learns of Mowgli’s presence, he tracks him down.

HANNAH ARENDT

BEOWULF 3D

Showing from: Fri 24 Jan

Showing from: Fri 24 Jan

Tickets on sale: Tue 21 Jan

Tickets on sale: Tue 21 Jan

Hannah Arendt is an immersion into the life of the influential German-Jewish philosopher and political theorist. During the year 1961, she reported for The New Yorker on the war crimes trial of the Nazi Adolf Eichmann in Jerusalem. Her articles introducing her now-famous concept of the “Banality of Evil” triggered off an unprecedented controversy. Using footage from the actual Eichmann trial and weaving a narrative that spans three countries, Margarethe von Trotta turns the often invisible passion for thought into immersive, dramatic cinema.

Inspired by the epic Old English poem of the same name, Zemeckis’s digitally rendered film follows the Scandinavian hero Beowulf as he fights to protect the Danes from a ferocious beast named Grendel. Though at first Grendel seems invincible, Beowulf eventually manages to defeat him in a desperate battle to the death. Devastated by her son’s violent demise at the hands of Beowulf, Grendel’s mother sets out in search of revenge. Later, Beowulf faces the biggest challenge of his life when he attempts to slay a powerful dragon.

KISS THE WATER Showing from: Fri 31 Jan Tickets on sale: Tue 28 Jan In a small cottage on the northern coast of Scotland, Megan Boyd twirled tiny bits of feather and fur, silver and gold into fishing flies that were at once works of art, magical - and absolutely lethal. Wherever men and women cast their lines for the mighty Atlantic salmon, her name is whispered in mythic reverence, and stories about her surface and swirl like fairy tales.

12 YEARS A SLAVE MOSHI MONSTERS: THE MOVIE Showing from: Fri 31 Jan Tickets on sale: Tue 28 Jan Taking the leap from the small to the big screen, join Katsuma, Poppet and the other Moshi Monsters (along with a very eager Mr Snoodle) in an actionpacked, song-filled race against time to stop evil Dr Strangeglove and his incompetent Glump sidekick Fishlips from pulverizing the recently discovered Great Moshling Egg.

Showing from: Fri 31 Jan Tickets on sale: Tue 28 Jan 12 Years A Slave is based on an incredible true story of one man’s fight for survival and freedom. In the pre-Civil War United States, Solomon Northup (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a free black man from upstate New York, is abducted and sold into slavery. Facing cruelty (personified by a malevolent slave owner, portrayed by Michael Fassbender), as well as unexpected kindnesses, Solomon struggles not only to stay alive, but to retain his dignity. In the twelfth year of his unforgettable odyssey, Solomon’s chance meeting with a Canadian abolitionist (Brad Pitt) will forever alter his life.
