Hi, again, I am going to start with this… I’m using GIMP, GIMP is an image manipulation freeware, you can download it at, http://www.gimp.org/downloads/ I’m going to show you how to create a chalk style text, which looks like this,
I’ll start by going through very quickly how I create the black board completely using GIMP, I start with a blank template, just go to File > New > click ‘Ok’
Then, select the ‘Bucket Fill’ toolbox,
from the right side
Select ‘Pattern Fill’ then choose the background you deem suitable.
Choose Pattern Fill
Click here to choose your desired background
Then, click on the white template with the ‘Bucket Fill’ tool, you will get something like this,
At the top tool bar, choose: Layer > New Layer At the ‘Layer fill type’, select ‘White’, then click Ok.
You will get something like this,
Select the ‘Scale’ tool at the right side toolbox, scale the new layer to the size you want your black board to be.
Use the ‘Move’ tool at the right side toolbox to move the new layer to the center after you have scaled it.
Select ‘Bucket Fill’ tool again, and choose the desired black board color ‘FG color fill’.
. Remember to check the box to
Select ‘FG color fill’
Then click on the new layer with the ‘Bucket Fill’ tool.
Now, the chalk style text, at the right side toolbox, select
‘Text’ tool
,
Click on anywhere on the blackboard, then a box like this will show up,
Type in any word you want, then click ‘Close’. To resize your text, adjust the value at the ‘Size’ section, to make your text appear at the center, at the ‘Justify’ section, select ‘Centered’. To change font, just choose from the ‘Font’ section, I select ‘Kristen ITC Semi-Expanded’ font,
Choose font style Choose font size Choose font color
Position of font, choose ‘Centered’ At the ‘Color’ section, choose the color you want your chalk to be. I chose white.
Go to: Filter > Map > Warp
I chose: Step size : 10 Iteration: 5 Dither size: 2.50 Because I find these settings to be most chalk-like,
There you go. Let me know if it works for you â˜ş
