PRESIDENT’S CIRCLE 1

2022-2023 IMPACT REPORTS

President’s Circle

SUMMARY The President’s Circle (PC) is the premier giving society of the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association and Foundation (USNA AA&F), recognizing more than 2,000 generous donors annually whose gifts ensure that the Naval Academy has the philanthropic resources to execute its mission. Since its inception in 1994, PC donors have contributed more than $550 million to support the development of the Brigade of Midshipmen into successful leaders of our Navy and Marine Corps. President’s Circle donors support a wide range of strategic initiatives. These programs create a rich and dynamic academic community. Without private support, these opportunities would simply not be available. We are grateful for the incredible generosity of our PC donors, which supported the strategic priorities of Academy Excellence, Athletics, Ethics, International Programs, and the Fluegel Alumni Center, to name a few, as well as the vital support of the Superintendent’s Unrestricted Fund.

SUPERINTENDENT’S UNRESTRICTED FUND The following initiatives benefited from the $2 million that the Superintendent can designate to emerging initiatives in need of support: • A study for the expansion and relocation of the columbarium • Midshipmen mental health and resiliency resources, including the expanded use of web-based tools such as NeuroFlow. • Admissions marketing and outreach • Diversity and Inclusion initiatives • U.K. Scholarship Program • Midshipman Experiential Leadership opportunities (NOLS) • NAPS Athletic Program • Superintendent’s representational support

THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION The Naval Academy Fund also supports mission-critical functions of our Alumni Association, which serves the Naval Academy and all its alumni. While most colleges and universities at least partially fund their alumni and development operations, by law the Naval Academy cannot provide that support. The Naval Academy Fund augments other Alumni Association revenue streams to help provide alumni services, such as Shipmate magazine, class reunion support, career services, WaveTops e-news, usna.com, staff support for alumni chapters, shared interest groups, and parent clubs worldwide.

THE FOUNDATION Unrestricted gifts to the Naval Academy Fund provide the sole source of funding for the operations and staffing of the Foundation. In turn, the Foundation executesall fundraising in support of the Naval Academy, averaging well more than $60 million in annual commitments over the last several years.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! 3
