WEEK 9 READING: TITLE OF READING

Question 1: What are Durer’s rules for perspectival projection? (Maximum 100 words) It defines perspective, as a ‘planar, transparent intersection of all those rays that fall from the eye onto the object it sees’, this means that all perpendiculars meet at the central vanishing pointas well as that parallels in all directions share a vanishing point. Also, the vanishing point will always be on the horizontal line if the parallels are on the horizontal plane, when they form a 45 degree angle with the picture plance. The distance between the vanishing point and the central vanishing point will equal to the distance between the eye of the picture plane.

Question 2: Describe homogenous space? (Maximum 100 words)

Homogenous space means that it is infinite and unchanging space. It is “too see with a single and immobile eye” and when “the planar cross section of the visual can pass for an adequate reproduction of the optical image”. This is a space where it “confines within the certain special limits” or that it represents the logic function, ideal purpose and meaning instead of substantiality. It is bascially the postulate, and is the contrasts against visual and tactical spaces. Or easily said, it is untouchable.

WEEK 4 READING: TITLE OF READING Complete your reading before attempting these questions:

Question 1: IWhat is the difference between autographic and allographic practice? (Maximum 100 words)

The difference between autographic and allographic practice is, autographic are objects that depend on the authenticity upon the direct contact of the writer and user. For example, art and sculptures. While, allographic is objects that have representations, like notations and keys. Autographic is physically established whereas allographic are responses or a set of guides in need of the collaborative structures like music and plays. It uses notations as an form of techinque to reproduce the authenticity of artworks.

Question 2: Why do architects need new representational techniques? (Maximum 100 words)

Architects need new representational techinques because to reflect the technological transformation of the society. It differs from the traditional representations of the stable and fixed object designs. But it protrays the city in a modern form. With complexity and unique designs.
