design philosophy DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

This project aims to redefine the basic Telephony Function for iOS system (rather than design a new app), and the functions it redefined are presented as follows. Improved Functions 1 Users can set Personal Information as well as its Visible Range in settings. (All information will be imported into an intelligent number library after verified, which can improve user experience.)

2 According to When and Where, users can set Accessible Calls, in order to avoid unnecessary disturbance.

3 Users can preset both Text and Voice Replies to contacts or strangers, and then select them directly when receiving calls.

TELEPHONY REDEFINED Conclusion This project contributes to redefining the phone’s original function —— Telephony Function. It has an intelligent number library to provide multiple solutions when users receiving unwelcome calls. It also considered various call situation and added several modes to improve the user experience. This redefined phone system can attract more people to use or reuse the telephony function, get them back to the original point and help them find the original meaning of the phone.

The main reason why many urban empty nesters choose to stay alone at home glumly is that they cannot find friends to play with.

Conclusion The social needs of empty nesters in urban areas cannot be well solved is because they have no chance to make new friends and have no convenient way to meet their old friends.

The elderly need a more humanized product in their daily life, because of the unavoidable decline in eyesight.

According to the actual demand of elder people, hearing aid is better to be equipped with waterproof function and become more comfortable to wear.

Elderly Mental Health Problems

The screen of the smartwatch is too small for elder people to see all the icons as well as related descriptions on it clearly.

Functions of the smartwatch are too complex that the elder people cannot successfully use them independently. Furthermore, many of these functions are useless to the old people.

It is difficult for the elderly to find suitable applications from the smartwatch. They cannot contact with their old friends conveniently or make new friends easily.

Age-related Vision Problems

Age-related Memory Loss Problems

Elderly Mental Health Problems

The interface of the smartwatch should be enlarged as far as possible without affecting the normal wearing.

A new smartwatch should be designed, which has only few but more practical functions based on the needs of the elder people.

In addition, the frequently used icons should be highlighted and enlarged in order to improve the user experience of them.

Moreover, the operation of applications should be simplified, such as using voice instead of typing or sliding the screens instead of touching.

An application should be designed, which can create a friend circle especially for the elder people and provide opportunities for them to meet new friends, so as to enrich their life in old age.
