J. Harry Hoover
J. Harry Hoover, 90, of Ephrata, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023, at Ephrata Manor.
He was born in Brownstown to the late Martin and Anna (Zimmerman) Hoover and was the husband of Irene (Showalter) Hoover, with whom he celebrated 70 years of marriage on April 4th.
A member of Indiantown Mennonite Church, he enjoyed attending public sales, hunting, going to the cabin, gardening, and tending to his flower beds, once having over 30 different kinds of Irises. He cherished family time and loved creating memories with them.
Harry worked as a selfemployed carpenter for many years.
Cynthia J. Thompson, Lititz, passed away on Tuesday, April 11.
She is survived by two daughters: Stefanie Martin, wife of Scott Martin, Lititz, and Heather Uhlin, wife of Brian Uhlin, Lititz; six grandchildren; and two sisters: Jayne Ford, and Bonnie Griffith.
Clair E. Sweigart, 93, Reinholds, passed away on Tuesday, April 18.

John N. Knier Sr., 86, Lititz, passed away on Wednesday, April 19.
He is survived by a son, John Jr., husband of Judi Knier; two daughters: Peggy, wife of Dennis Young, and Karen, wife of Paul Conley; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Anne L. Montgomery, 80, wife of James M. Montgomery, Ephrata, passed away on Wednesday, April 19.
John Hoover, husband of Diana (Martin) of Wellsboro; 19 grandchildren; 42 greatgrandchildren; and a sister, Anna Mae Martin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son-in-law, James Nissley.
A viewing was held on Friday, April 28, at the Indiantown Mennonite Church, 255 Indiantown Road, Ephrata. Funeral services followed at 11:00 am, with Pastor Nelson Zeiset and Pastor Steve Martin officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining church Cemetery.

Shirley A. Holm, 81, Landis Homes, Lititz, passed away on Thursday, April 20. She was the wife of the late Allan Holm.
She is survived by a son, Nathan Holm, husband of Kelly Crenshaw, Austin, Texas; a daughter, Anita Holm, wife of Eric Hagelin, Ambler; three grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Firestine.

St. Luke’s “Spring Thing”
St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, 222 North Broad Street (Route 501 North) in Lititz, will be holding their annual spring bazaar, known as “The Spring Thing” on Saturday, May 6, from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
They will be selling Peter’s Chicken Dinners for a cost, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Baked goods, and hot and cold drinks will also be available. There will be a gift basket raffle and silent auction with a variety of themed gift baskets. In Granny’s Attic, you will find something for everyone. Yard sale vendors, as well as home business and craft vendors will be on site. Haircuts will also be available by donation. There will also be a children’s table with activities for the little ones while mom and dad shop!
