BEYOND THE FORK IN THE ROAD - Senior Moving Solutions

“Thank you to you and your crew for all that you did (above and beyond) to move my parents. I could never have done it by myself, so it was a huge relief just to put it all in your competent hands. Both my parents and I felt cared for by you and your crew and that is a large, positive endorsement for your company. I’ve been singing your praises to those who ask how we got everything accomplished.” As evidenced by this positive review from a client, moving doesn’t have to be stressful. The staff at Beyond The Fork In The Road provides customized moving solutions for seniors. The compassionate team works to ease the physical and emotional toll on seniors transitioning to a new home. They are there to help with packing, unpacking, resettling and managing every aspect of your move.

Before the move occurs, space in the new location is assessed as well as any limitations determined by the community. You receive a magnetic floor plan of your new home, complete with your furniture in position. You have the ability to move furniture and visualize your new living space prior to making final decisions about what to relocate to your new home. Beyond The Fork In The Road uses color coded totes to pack so movers know which room the tote goes to, which decreases time and cost. The totes are sanitized between uses.

One of the most appreciated services they offer is the unpacking process. Furniture, clothing and any other items will be moved and carefully unpacked so that your new home is in move-in condition. Utensils will be in drawers, dishes will be on shelves, clothing will be hung in your closet, and even your bed will be made! All you do is come home and relax. Beyond the Fork In The Road belongs to a national organization that has a network of Move Managers all over the country. They are also accredited by the National Association of Senior Move Managers – SMM-C, a certification offered only by this organization. What is done with all the unwanted items? Beyond The Fork In The Road saw this need and started a consignment shop that gives back 60% to their clients to help offset the cost of their move. Every sell-able item is tagged for their store; eBay and MarketPlace are used for higher end items. Other options for asset disposition include gifting to family members, auction and donation.

Beyond The Fork In The Road understands moving can cause a lot of emotional upheaval. They will work beside you in a manner that is supportive, patient and considerate. They are located at 56 F West Church Street, Denver. The office is open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The consignment store is open 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Friday, noon to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to noon every second and fourth Saturday of the month. Tone Tailors

Tone Tailors opened its doors in downtown Lancaster in March of 2015. In September of 2017, after establishing themselves to musicians in the area, they moved to Lititz, PA to take advantage of their new location’s proximity to the recently-constructed Rock Lititz Plaza. The 4,000-square foot space inside of Pod #2 of the plaza is triple the size of the original store, and enabled owners John Paul “JP” Painton (not pictured) and John LeClair to expand their guitar inventory, and house a gigantic stock of other musical instruments such as drums, keyboards, amplifiers, accessories and more.

Co-owner Painton states that Tone Tailors’ ability to listen to the constant feedback of their customers, and take the feedback to heart in order to provide the best service possible, is what makes them stand out from the competition. Co-owner LeClair adds that with their spacious shop, enormous inventory, and knowledgeable staff the store can live up to it’s alliterative, descriptive name.

Now, five and a half years after the move to Lititz, Tone Tailors has established themselves as the premier music shop in all of Lancaster County. They feature equipment from guitar makers like Fender, PRS and Martin, and have created a special niche for local musicians by featuring the most expansive line of effects pedals imaginable. They also carry a huge amount of accessories such as guitar strings, cables, straps, tuners and more. Need work on your guitar? Let one of their accomplished repairmen get your guitar or bass working and looking new again. They also have a full staff of instructors to provide lessons for drums, guitar, bass, piano and even vocals!

Stop on down to Tone Tailors at 201 Rock Lititz Blvd., Suite 54, Lititz, PA. They can be reached at 717-553-5199, via their website www.tonetailors.com, or through their Facebook page. They’re open Monday through Saturday 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Shank Door

The Shank Door company is happily celebrating 59 years of service within the community. With a variety of doors available to both residential and commercial clients, Shank Door has grown to be the largest garage door installer across the region.

The success of this local business began in Harrisonburg, Virginia in the 1950s by Ralph Shank when he started selling and installing garage doors. With hard work, discipline and the heart of a true entrepreneur, Ralph moved to Baltimore for a short time and then moved to Myerstown in 1964. He began selling doors out of his basement and as his reputation for excellent service, superior labor and remarkable products spread throughout the community, the business continued to prosper. The current location of Shank Door at Myerstown was originally a farm belonging to Ralph’s brother, Aaron Shank. Ira Mast, the company’s first associate, was hired in 1971. In 1973, the farm officially became the established site for the business. Ralph decided to sell the business to Ira in 1976. He remained in some capacity following the transition. They also have a team working out of their Lancaster warehouse location.

Ira placed high importance on thoroughness and continued growing the company competently and yielding growth. Despite a fire in 1982 when the building burned, Ira persevered and Shank Door rebounded and several new additions were built. The success of Shank Door is due to God-given opportunities, loyal contractors and customers.

While styles and times have certainly changed from Ralph’s initial interest in doors, the market for quality, durability and function has not. Employing approximately 90 people, Shank Door maintains the reputation of quality and hard work set forth by Ralph. This commitment has earned them excellent reviews on Google and Angie’s List, as well as countless customer referrals. Overhead, entry and car wash doors, roll up screens and retractable awnings are among the products available for residential or commercial clients. If you are looking for any of these products and need an installation team that is highly skilled, please call Shank Door. Their phone number is 717-738-4499. You may also view their website at www.shankdoor.com for more information. Their hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or by appointment. 24-hour emergency service is available.

EPHRATA YOUTH CHEERLEADING PROGRAM, INC.

In 2017, Lisa Copenhaver was faced with a dilemma. The Ephrata Recreation Center no longer sponsored a midget cheerleading program, but the community still needed a vehicle in which to teach and coach cheerleading to the local youth. It was then that Copenhaver decided to take matters into her own hands, and founded the Ephrata Youth Cheerleading Program, Inc. Because Copenhaver founded the business, she decided to take the bull by the horns, and create a unique program that promotes cheerleading, while helping the girls learn in a fun filled atmosphere.

Alongside program President Kim Capwill, and family members Megan Copenhaver (Vice President) and Brittany Copenhaver (Secretary/Treasurer), Copenhaver decided that her fledgling business would be a non-schoolrelated organization, and be totally independent, subsisting on registration fees and fundraising events only. Copenhaver’s next step was to assemble Board Members and a coaching staff that would attain all the necessary federal, state and child abuse history clearances needed to make her dream a reality.

Now, five years later, Copenhaver is proud to have such a dedicated staff of coaches and instructors who can provide each young lady with one-on-one guidance, helping them to attain their individual goals. Copenhaver states that she gets an immense sense of gratification from seeing the girls push themselves to their limits and beyond. She welcomes input from the children’s parents and encourages their involvement in their child’s endeavors. Want to learn more? Ed Kocher, along with his wife Charlotte, started in the hearing aid profession nearly 40 years ago. As the original Founders of Advanced Tech Hearing Aid Centers, along with their daughters, Jennifer and Farrah (owner of Lewisburg, PA office), and their son, Dr. Christopher Kocher, AuD, their company has grown to be one of the largest and premier Hearing Aid businesses in the Central PA area. They truly are a “family-owned” business.

We believe every patient deserves sincere and honest service that exceeds their expectations. We treat you with the same care and concern as if you were a friend or family member. We continually provide that service by keeping abreast of the latest hearing aid technology and offer a selection of hearing aids manufactured by the best names in the industry.

Our prices are always reasonable and our service is unmatched by anyone, including having a repair lab on the premises. We offer a “try before you buy” program as we want anyone considering hearing aids not to worry about making a down payment, getting overwhelmed with technology or anything else. We simply want you to experience what it is like to hear what you have been missing and determine how much hearing aids will help you better your quality of life with good hearing. The real test takes place in your everyday life which is why we started offering this program many years ago. All you need to do is wear them for a week or so and just listen and experience the world around you to determine if the timing is right for you to take the step to better hearing. There is no cost or obligation on your part at all!

Hearing loss impacts more than you think and isn’t just an ear issue; it’s a quality of life and health issue. Growing evidence indicates that older adults with hearing loss are more likely to experience the symptoms of cognitive decline. Hearing aids can improve the negative effects of hearing loss on the brain.

Some of the effects of Untreated Hearing Loss are: increased mental fatigue/stress, poorer memory, difficulty focusing, poorer mental health, social withdrawal and depression.

We want you to “hear what you are missing,” so please call today 717-560-5023.

Advanced Tech Hearing Aid Centers is located at 1887 Lititz Pike, Lancaster. Their website is www.adtechctrs.com
