3rd Annual Pure Ludington
BrrrewFest

Don your parka and grab your frosted mugs — Ludington’s premier winter beer festival is here. The Pure Ludington Brrrewfest, hosted by the Ludington Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, will bring a healthy variety of beers and rockin’ selection of tunes to downtown Ludington Saturday, Jan. 28 for the third year in a row. And this time, there’s a special twist to the party — it’s all Michigan-made. “We decided to limit our brewers to Michigan only,” said event committee member Brandy Henderson. “In the past, we accepted brewers from outside the state, but we felt we wanted to keep this truly a Michigan craft beer event.” More than 30 brewers will showcase their best at the Saturday event, which runs from 1 to 6 p.m. “Craft beer in Michigan is a tight knit culture and people love to follow them from place to place,” Henderson said. Expect some familiar faces on stage, too. “The bands this year are local musicians. Andy Thomas (of Starving Artist Brewing Co.) will be opening for American Hairband,” Henderson said. The event is a favorite among locals and visitors alike, she added, and draws people outside during the offseason. “We wanted to create an annual event that the residents would come out and enjoy during the winter, and would also provide another reason for visitors to come to Ludington during the off-season,” Henderson said. “There’s something about a winter beer festival — getting all
geared up, wearing your most obnoxiously warm hat, and a souvenir cup. Additional drink tokens will be available drinking beer outside with friends,” said event committee for purchase during Brrrewfest.
