TRENDSETTERS
UNBRIDLED COUTURE IS TRENDING IN ALL THE HOTTEST WAYS
by Robyn DupliseaIf you follow horse show fashion at all, you will have recognized our cover image as the show shirt that went viral. Whether you show reiners or pleasure horses everyone went wild for the stunning show shirt with the unicorn fringe. The first design from a new series for Unbridled Couture aptly named Trendsetters.
“The mint shirt with the multicolored
fringe that we used for the cover was super fun to create” shared Dana Wilson Reece, owner of Unbridled Couture.
“We actually sourced that fringe sleeved fabric from Italy on one of our buying trips. That piece was the first in our ‘Trendsetter’ line and is a prime example of something created and designed around the unique fringe fabric.”
This isn’t the first time people have noticed the quality and uniqueness of Unbridled Couture’s designs though. They currently dress many of the top riders.
“Emma Gore won multiple titles at the 2022 AQHA Youth World as well as the Congress in her Unbridled Pieces. We just recently acquired Madison Rafacz as an Unbridled client and she is setting the reining world on fire, so expect to see big things from her. Kaleena Weakly has been a long time friend and client and we all know how talented she is in the all-around events as well as the western pleasure.”
Dana continued “I have always admired Joetta Bell and her talent on the back of a horse
so I was ecstatic for the opportunity to be able to work with her. Katie Green is another member of the Unbridled Couture team, we always have fun designing new things for her, and she always shines so bright in the Winners Circle. Emma Goffard can also be seen in multiple win pictures from the APHA World wearing Unbridled.”
To understand the genius behind the brand you need to know Dana Reece. She has earned her stripes both in the show pen and the fashion industry. And that combination is what allows her designs to be so incredible.
“I grew up in the industry as a ‘trainers kid’, both of my parents were trainers and my dad was a judge. So when I was about 14, I started prepping for my first AQHYA World Show. When I approached my dad at the time asking him to help me set a budget for show clothes. He quickly told me that I could either get a job to help pay for the new set of show clothes or I could figure out how to make them myself! I got to work that

opportunities such as being able to study abroad, in doing so I created many contacts within the industry that I still utilize today.”
“We draw a lot of our inspiration from high fashion designers straight off the runway. One of my guilty pleasures is fabric shopping and searching for day on the challenge that he presented me with by calling my grandmother and having her take me to the fabric store, and the rest is history. I spent the first year designing and creating for myself, which led to clients in my mom and dad‘s barn hiring me to create their pieces, which then turned into what it is today where I have designed and created for some of the industries top competitors in multiple countries across the World.”
Dana rode for the equestrian team at the University of Georgia, for four years. During her time there she studied Fashion Merchandising and Design. “Through these programs I was afforded many

those unique pieces that allow me to create innovative designs centered on a fabric pattern.”
We all know that horse show fashion needs to function. The most stunning outfit is useless if you can not actually ride in it. That is where Dana’s experience as an equestrian comes in.
“Fit and quality are what we pride ourselves in here at Unbridled. You can have the most blinged out piece in the arena or something extremely simple with zero stones on it but if it doesn’t fit well it can throw off an entire look in an instant.”
Unbridled Couture offers both “Ready to Wear” and
Custom creations so they can fit the needs of many riders. Customs are a big part of what they do at Unbridled Couture.
“The process starts with a Consultation which allows us to work one on one with our clients to interpret their vision, match colors and design a unique creation. We
then walk them through the process of getting measured so we can ensure the fit is perfect, once measurements are confirmed and sketches are approved we begin the creation process” explained Dana.
Kaleena Weakly in Unbridled“Some clients like to be more involved with the entire process so we try to accommodate by sending progress pictures to involve them with the process. Other clients like to be surprised and so we get to use our own creative process and create a masterpiece for them to see at the time of completion.”
“It is so rewarding to see customers wearing my pieces of art when they come to life.”
Constantly thinking about innovation,
Unbridled added their own in-house social media team this year. “They create content of each piece, including pictures and fun videos that bring the piece to life” exclaimed Dana.
“We are always thinking outside the box and willing to create unique designs to set our clients apart from the rest.”
If you are looking for “Ready to Wear”
Unbridled puts the same effort and innovation into those designs as well.
“Online shopping has been a huge game changer for us. We actually altered our business approach this past year by amping up our ‘Ready To Wear’ lines
“WE ARE ALWAYS THINkING OUTSIDE THE BOx AND WILLING TO CREATE UNIqUE DESIGNS TO SET OUR CLIENTS ApART fROm THE REST.”
and offering more inventory. Some clients have a hard time visualizing what a custom design will look like or they simply do not have the time to wait for a custom order so we have drastically increased our inventory to accommodate those clients shared Dana”
“To us, fit is the single most important aspect of what makes our pieces so special so we offer a “Fit Guarantee” where if the item does not fit for any reason, we allow our customers to return it for a full refund.”
2022 brought many changes for Unbridled Couture and Dana. Dana lost her mom, beloved horse woman Pam Wilson.
“After losing my mom almost a year ago, the past year has not only been one of the hardest seasons of my life, but on the flip side it has also been one of the most rewarding. I know the
recent successes I’ve had are making my mom incredibly proud.”
“She had such a tremendous impact on everyone that she came in contact with in her lifetime, but she was extremely
special in the way that she would always fill her riders with confidence before they entered the arena. This is something I strive to instill in every one of my clients when they put on their Unbridled Couture piece, and the legacy I want to carry on for my mom.”
The growth of Unbridled Couture has also brought an expansion to Dana’s team. “I have built an amazing team of people around me that make every day possible with Unbridled, the growth has been so phenomenal that my husband has recently come on board to take over a lot of the every day functionality of the business which has allowed it to become what it is.”
Dana is excited to see her business in the growth phase. “We are building a brand that will be recognized worldwide. We have several exciting new partnerships and collaborations that will be launched in 2023 and into 2024, so stay tuned” exclaimed Dana.

MADE THE RIGHT WAY
100% AMERICAN MADE, FASHION FORWARD AND BUDGET FRIENDLY SUNDIAL SHOW CLOTHING
by Robyn DupliseaSundial show clothing has built a brand and reputation for combining state of the art fabrics, fit and design to create stunning fashion forward performance riding fashions at an affordable price point. Sundial’s award-winning shirts start around $350.
Kaitlin Records is the boss lady behind the brand, and she is passionate about fashion that is for everyone from street to show ring and in for all shapes and sizes.
“Setting new standards of fit, function, and fashion is my creative desire. Inclusivity and diversity in the western industry is my objective. Helping inspire others to ask for more out of life is my passion” exclaimed Kaitlin.
“When I was growing up, I was always quite tall and had a lot of fit issues with clothing, which persisted into the show pen as well. I really began to see a need for a different kind of equestrian apparel while showing in the IHSA collegiate circuit.”
Kaitlin developed Sundial to fill the perfect niche of providing custom, fun and modern designs to the discerning rider who wants to wear something cut from a different cloth. “My clients tell me they are addicted to their shirts and adore their collections.”
The forward-thinking brand has caught the attention of many in the western horse world. In 2021 Kaitlin was awarded Cowgirl Magazines Top 30 Under 30. “In 2021 it was such an honor to be highlighted as an upcoming designer and a face of the western industry.”
Kaitlin continued “In 2022, I had been looking to nab an NFR qualifying rider for several years as they have a big fan vote that receives a lot of recognition
after the consecutive 10 nights of rodeo. For those that aren’t familiar with the NFR; it’s the biggest stage of fashion in the rodeo industry. Millions descend upon Las Vegas to celebrate and show off their curated styles! To be able to dress a beautiful and talented top rider on the grandest stage, and then also receive a record number of votes to win the Jerry Ann Taylor Best Dressed Award, it felt surreal, and it was certainly something to check off my bucket list.”
Sundial’s designs cross many disciplines from show to street and ranch to rodeo. We wanted to know how Kaitlin has
been able to make her clothing so versatile. “You have to look the part of your role and you have to feel the self-confidence that comes with self-expression. Too many times I have seen women try to fit themselves into things they don’t really like because ‘that’s
what everyone else is wearing’ but that’s really not what life is about. Once I started embracing my own individuality, my brand blossomed.”
Sundial is very size inclusive. From youth to 3X they have outfits for nearly every woman and with customization options they can perfect the fit. “Inclusivity is deeply rooted in our brand identity, as I mentioned I had always struggled to find the right fit for me. Our biggest fans range from super petite women who struggle to find clothes that they don’t swim in, to ladies with generous bust sizes who constantly pop buttons. I started
working on my original shirt pattern in 2015 and it took me several years to finally tweak it to perfection and launch in 2017. I started with a list of things I ‘did not like’ about traditional show wear and made it my goal to alleviate all of them.”
Sundial has some amazing options that fit the Ranch Events as well. With Kaitlin herself debuting this year in the Ranch events with her gelding, she has a passion for helping riders achieve that perfect look.
“In Ranch Riding there is a huge obsession with saddle blankets, and my
clients love that they can get a super unique shirt to match. How awesome is it that you can have a customized ranch riding shirt and pad set for under $750? That really makes Ranch Riding an accessible option for an amateur and at the end of the day, it’s really all about the horse so let’s have some fun with it!”
Kaitlin embraced the move to online shopping. She added Facebook lives to her marketing and grew her online business. “Now I host lives weekly showing off the latest custom creations and offering some in stock shirts ready
to ship fresh off the line. I also have a very detailed sizing chart on our website and I use materials that have 4-way stretch, so finding that right fit is easier than you think. For new clients, I make sure to follow up and ensure their shirt exceeds expectations and can provide some custom alterations if needed. Some clients even have their own fit patterns on file.”
“It is important to me to keep evolving the brand and remain an industry trendsetter. In just a few short years, I have already seen my most popular designs replicated and mass produced by other companies sourcing their
manufacturing overseas. Sundial creates handmade, quality garments that transition from street to stable. We care deeply about making things the right way, running our business the right way, and making sure our business is more than just our apparel. Respect for the people we work with, relationships, our company culture, the environment, and our athletes are just as important to us as the shirts we make”
“We cut and sew all of our garments in the United States. By using high-end materials, printed with vibrant ecofriendly sublimation dyes, our shirts are significantly more durable, feel better against your skin, and continue to look and feel brand new after each wear. We believe you should never sacrifice quality for style, or style for comfort. I am 100% certain our fit will be your new favorite. Our designs are made to order with a current lead time of 4-6 weeks. The made to order business model allows us to offer special customizations not often found at our price point.”
While they attend many events, truly the best way to shop with Sundial is online at https:// sundialshowclothing.com/. Be sure to follow them on Facebook for the latest design previews!
AUTHENTIC APPAREL
You know the brand, and the iconic Kimes Ranch Apparel logo. It has permeated the entire horse industry and beyond to western culture and even Hollywood through Paramount’s Yellowstone.
The jeans that just fit better when in the saddle. The shirts, jackets and other tops that define a lifestyle. Kimes Ranch Apparel just seems to know horsemen. That intimate knowledge of the western lifestyle comes from an honest, hardworking, horse loving core executive team that have put in the wet saddle blankets and lived the life. While the brand needs no introduction, we wanted to share the stories from the saddle of the team.
MATT KIMES CO-FOUNDER
Matt Kimes comes from a decorated show pen background. A multiple AQHYA World Champion and Congress champion Matt and his partner Mr Glow Jangles were a force to be reckoned with in the late 80’s and 90’s.
Matt rode with legendary trainer Pete Kyle from 1981 to 1990. “Pete and Tamara taught me how to ride a horse. Those were some great memories–lifelong friends and relationships.”
The horse background certainly formed many of the traits that have led to success for Matt with Kimes. “Riding and competing taught me how to have drive, determination and
work ethic. Being focused on end goals, growing from your failures, and having confidence in your ability, all came from horses.”
Today Matt shows working cow horses and the entire family is involved in the equine industry.
AMANDA KIMES CO-FOUNDER
Amanda grew up showing in the all-around events in the Pacific Northwest. “I always loved horses and my family supported that wholeheartedly. It definitely took a back seat for many years as we built the business and our family.”
Though to see her ride you would never know she took a break. Today she shows in the Ranch Riding and won the Level 1 Champion of Champions Amateur Ranch Riding at the 2022 AQHA World Championship Show “One of my proudest moments was showing at the AQHA World Show last year. It was a culmination of a long journey back to the show pen and I was thrilled to be there. I do have to also say that every time I get to go to a horse show and see my kids and my husband all compete and have fun, amazing new memories are made.”
Amanda also is grateful for her background on horses for how it has shaped her vision for Kimes. “My
background has influenced my work in so many ways, but for sure in all aspects of design. I know what is required of our jeans and our clothing in order to create versatile, comfortable, quality pieces that riders and non-riders alike will love to wear. I live it every day.”
“Currently, the whole family is showing and active with horses. Jack and Katherine love the ranch riding and cow events, Matt is back showing working cow horses, my mom has been Ranch Riding, and even our youngest, Charlie, gets out there and competes. We love spending evenings at the barn just riding and taking care of our large herd of animals.”
LINDSAY PERRATON,
CHIEF MARKETING OFFICER
While Lindsay is the busy CMO for Kimes, she also had a decorated youth career. For 14 years she showed all around on the AQHA circuit. “My persistence would take me to the finals at the AQHYA World Show in the Equitation, Hunter Under Saddle, and Horsemanship leaving my youth show career with a Reserve World Championship on the great Ms Fenmore.” After heading to collage Lindsay ventured into Reining and Working Cow Horses and today her daughter is showing in the Ranch Riding. Even though Lindsay had
ventured away from the all-around for many years the love for them never left her heart and she just purchased a beautiful Lazy Loper foal.
Lindsay’s experience working with different horses in various disciplines taught her to find the talent in her partner and out it best to work, a skill she has transferred to her marketing team at Kimes. “My true passion is to find the skills that lie within each of my team members and leverage them to build their confidence so they may niche down on those specialties and focus on what they are good at and what they love. Passion builds productivity and great people!”
MCKENZIE PARKINSON
SPONSORSHIPS AND SPECIAL EVENT MANAGER
McKenzie has a royal pedigree in the horse world. the daughter of iconic horse trainer Al Dunning and wife of another multiple champion trainer Shadd Parkinson, McKenzie has earned her own accolades on the backs of some incredible horses. “I began showing cutting horses at age 11 and have continued to do so off and on for the last 33 years, taking extended breaks for college, jobs, kids, etc. I am probably most proud of winning the AQHA Amateur Cutting World Championship in 2003 on my all-time favorite horse, LB Texas Twist. It’s a memory I will always cherish, and that horse will always be so very special to me.”
“The relationships I’ve built in the equine industry over my lifetime thus far has been the biggest asset in my role at Kimes.
Not only am I able to call on the many talented people I know for advice or guidance, but in a western industry that is so tight knit, it’s all about the relationships, old and new.”
Today McKenzie is back in the cutting pen on a mare both she and her dad show. “Both my dad and I have been showing How Sweet Rey Is regularly in weekend cuttings and we’re enjoying getting to spend the time together. My mom is a horse show announcer, so she is usually there as well. I’d say the most time we get to spend together as a family with our busy schedules is at the cuttings, so it’s been great. Also, my husband trains working cow horses, so I love going to those events to support him and our clients.”
GARRETT COOPER GENERAL SALES MANAGER
If you recognize his last name, it is because he is the son of legendary horsewoman Debbie Cooper. “With my mother being a talented horsewoman with many accolades, I like to say that I was born into the horse industry, I was on a horse before I learned to walk. As a kid, I showed in the reining, roping, and the cow horse. Born and raised in the horse world in Arizona, there was always a circle of youth kids. Some of us were neighbors or we hung out at the shows together, it was basically just one big family. This is where I built a relationship with Matt and Amanda, looking back on it, it is crazy to see how far we have all come.”
Garrett credits his background with the authenticity that drives his place in the Kimes team. “You can’t fake having the background and knowing the intricacies of the western industry and I believe there is a level of knowledge that can’t be learned, it has to be lived. We pride ourselves on our authenticity and the fact
that we have all grown up loving the western way of life.”
After a break from competitive riding to focus on his career and family, today Garrett has returned to the saddle. “Like most of the crew at Kimes, I took a long break to begin a family and devote time to work. I now am back having fun in the roping pen. I get to hit the jackpots with my buddies and love being back at it. “
Clearly the team at Kimes Ranch
Apparel lives and breathes the western lifestyle. This brand is created by horsemen and women who know the smell of horse sweat and the sting of chaffed legs from inferior products. There is a clear reason everyone loves the Kimes Ranch Apparel product and the brand. Quite simply we would call that reason, authenticity.

Kevin Garcia oriGinals
When you hear the name Kevin Garcia Originals your mind probably instantly pictures their famous Retro Shirt styled with the hidden zipper that has become so very popular these past few years. The blouses are comfortable, flattering, stylish and can go from the horsemanship to pleasure and back the trail pen all on the same day having you looking like a million bucks!
The KGO name is also synonymous with impeccable fit and craftsmanship. They take fit so seriously they will talk you through the process or even measure you in person when possible.
The combination of fit, design, incredible customer service and fashion forward looks has earned Kevin Garcia the Show Horse Today Gold Readers Choice Award for Best Western Show Fashion Designer the past two years.
Kevin Garcia Originals continues to expand their business with stunning designs. Hot for 2023 are the Retro Shirts with full sleeve designs. This option allows for more personalization and bling for those who prefer more sparkle without the added heat and weight of a jacket or vest. The shirts also pair beautifully with a custom matching vest to give the look of a world class show jacket without as much heat and more versatility.
Also new for 2023 is the Curvy Collection from KGO. While Kevin has
always been known to dress all body types this year they have dedicated time to perfecting the look to enhance the curvy body. While the same stunning retro shirt design can be used, the Curvy Collection is cut to be a bit more forgiving through the middle. From Showmanship Suits to custom show jackets the Curvy Collection is created to make you feel and look your best. As always you are treated with the upmost respect as Kevin Garcia Originals match your design to fit, flatter and stand out in the best way possible.
KGO is proud that they “design for all body types” and “whether you are looking to outfit your tiny tots getting their first show pieces to a mature body shape, we make all types of show clothing for every size.”
If summer heat has you dreading days so showing in the sun you may want to check out a Retro Shirt with the sheer sleeve option. Significantly cooler for the rider, these blouses are another hot trend for 2023. “We are always looking for new fabrics to make our designs pop and we have some stunning sheer sleeve options. You can ever add a shoulder design in addition to the crystal collar and cuff so your sheer sleeved blouse will sparkle.”
Showmanship by KGO continues to allow your personal style with both the perfectly fitted tailored suit and full out custom designed jackets equally in style. Exhibitors can embrace their personal
preference and shine in the show arena in either look.
Speaking of customs, did you know that KGO can match your beloved saddle pad for a seamless look? “We can design a shirt to match any and every saddle pad; an existing pad that a customer has or we can design a custom pad to match their custom shirt.”
Custom looks by KGO can include entire coordinated show wardrobes. “Once many of our clients receive their first perfectly fitted show outfit they often call immediately to order more. We can take those measurements and then create a coordinating vest, jacket
or even a new showmanship suit. All in a coordinated style to help you stand out.”
For 2023 Kevin has noticed some definitely trendy colors. “White, mint, light tan, royal blue, purples are all in style & hot colors right now.” If you love fringe, Kevin can add removable fringe at the arm hole opening on a vest or even short fringe along the yoke line of a Retro Shirt to satisfy your fringe fantasy.
Kevin Garcia Originals continues to lead with stunning designs and fit. They look forward to the 2023 Show Horse Today Readers’ Choice
awards with gratitude to their clients. “Thank you to all of our customers for keeping us in the #1 spot.”

HoW to measure For tHe perFect Fit
To achieve the perfect fitting show outfit correct measurements are absolutely vital. This step is so important KGO wanted us to share how they help their clients get proper measurements which leads to their legendary perfect fit.
Firstly, you need a proper soft cloth measuring tape, nothing else will work for this job. You will also need an assistant. If you are not 100% confident in your abilities to get these measurements then Kevin recommends you take his guide to a local tailor or seamstress and get professionally measured. This step is so vital he has even had clients fly to him to be properly measured. This guide shows exactly where on your body each measurement needs to be taken. For the Retro Shirts shoulder and sleeve measurements are absolutely key, as it is nearly impossible to alter a full sleeve style
without effecting the design.
When you order from KGO they will even FaceTime you as you do your measurements to ensure they are done right. “We will help by spending time
Loves horses. Has camera. Will travel.
“I’ve had a love of horses for as long as I can remember. I currently own horses and compete on a national level. I understand the bond you have with the horse and the investment you’ve made (emotionally + financially) to this animal. The decision to capture these moments by hiring someone else who ‘gets you’, is a big one. I ‘get you’.”
“That’s where I step in. Committed to capturing unique stories, adventures, and everyday love affairs (with people + animals!), I feel so lucky to be able to do what I do best day in and day out. Just know that I don’t do things in halves. Book me, and I’m all in. Down for the ride (literally), up for a dance, and here for the real stuff.”

RIDING WITH MEMORIES
PERSONALIZED SHOW RING FASHIONS
By Robyn DupliseaStyle is so much more that fabric and stitches. Often it is tied to the emotion and heart behind the look. In the horse show world it is no different. Horse show fashions may seem similar from across the pen, but it is all in the details.
My personal show outfit was designed to be an abstract dragonfly in memory of my dad, and it features a special piece of dragonfly jewelry that was gifted to me. To most looking at the outfit those details would not have stood out, but to me they were everything. An opportunity to have my dad ride with me every time I entered the pen.
I wanted to dig deeper in to the heart on the sleeves of many of the stunning show outfits that grace the pages of our magazine. What I found was some incredible stories and outfits that may just inspire your next look.
NATALIE ZYANA WEDDING DRESS TO HMS
“Fawn Williams brought my vision to life! I created the image and she did the whole thing. Dying it, cutting the pattern and all!”
CYNTHIA RAYSSER TIES THAT BIND
“I made this simple rail shirt for my granddaughter using one of her grandpa’s ties for the trim and piping. She will have a little bit of him with her when she shows. We lost him almost 3 years ago. I have many of his ties to use for shirts and ratcatchers.”
KARA PALAHEWSKI ON ANGEL’S WINGS
I lost my daughter to a drunk driver. She was 24 weeks pregnant. They were miraculously able to save her baby. The baby wasn’t given a chance to make it. We gave her the name Angel to baptize her and let her fly to Heaven. Well, she decided to fight all the conditions to be born 4 months early. My husband and I raised her as her grandparents. My husband passed in 2017. I own Show Angels. I make show clothes from start to finish. Of course the name came from a few special angels. When I complete each outfit, the last finishing touch is an Angel wing on the right sleeve or front. I have had people come and say I need to find the wing. Some say they have good luck because of it. Some feel comfort. I even had a teen who fell hard from her horse and was injured. It took a couple years for her to ride again. She was scared and had a tough time. She didn’t know about the wing until after her first show back. She told her mom she wasn’t scared or nervous at all in the arena. It’s like she was floating.
She was in tears when she saw the Angel wing in her outfit. She attests it was what brought her back. I have
2 of my daughter’s prom dresses that I’m sewing into clothes for my granddaughter and I.
This is my granddaughter Angel. Drs said she would be deaf, blind and retarded. We could keep her in a group home. Well, she has 20/20 vision, hears everything, and spends every free minute with her horses.
HEATHER LYNN MEYER MEMORIES OF A LIFETIME
I have one that I designed that was made by a now deceased APHA judge and AQHA trainer Carol Brock we collaborated on a western retro shirt when I was a youth and rode the horse I’m Original to multiple world titles. I still have the outfit in a frame. But I will never part with the garments because of the sentimental value of the woman I looked up to and was my coach and mentor who made it and the horse which I shared over a 18 year partnership with my heart horse.
SARAH LONGWORTH ALL IN THE DETAILS
I made this shirt for Kylie Williams out of her mom’s wedding dress. Her mom has breast cancer so it was a tear jerker moment to give it to them. I embroidered her parents names and the wedding date on the cuffs.
BRITTANY RUSSELL BROWN - I DO
Brittany worked with Judith Fairfield of Sonder Avenue to turn her stunning wedding gown into a gorgeous show top. “A while ago, I had a thought. I was so in love with my wedding dress and was so sad that I would never wear it again, so I needed a resolution. I texted Judith and said we need to use my wedding dress on a custom show shirt! She was like ‘uhhh.. are you sure?’ And I was like hell yeah. Thank you SonderAvenue for making this
dream come to life. It’s so stunning and so special.”
Judith shared that she “loved working on the garment for Brittany Brown.”
LACEY STARR HAT’S OFF
I just have a kind story about being blessed with a hat from Initial Impressions. Heather had a thin blue line hat and I had to have it in 2021 (short story: my husband is a Minneapolis Sgt and was front and center during the riots over George Floyd). I wanted one so bad and told her I was a ‘cop wife and wanted to wear it proudly’, she shared it without telling me on her personal page and then sent me a message saying she was refunding my order because 10 generous people pitched in and paid for my hat! At a time I thought our world was falling apart, it restored my faith in humanity and was such a gesture I would never forget!
NATALIA DEVENCENTY GLOBE WORTHY
In a switch up from others Natalia actually worked with the incredible designer who created her fairytale wedding dress to have her design her a Horsemanship Top shown on our led page. It was the first show outfit designed by Angela Kim. “I am honored to have dressed the World Amateur Horsemanship champion! “
Natalia shared her appreciation for Angela. “ She’s the most talented designer ever! Incredible job Angela (especially for it being her first ever sparkly shirt) Pretty dang impressive. I can’t wait to create many many more together!!! The process with her is SO easy and enjoyable!!!”
KAREN RICKETTS HONOR AND GLORY
I made this vest using patches from my son’s Army uniform. He was deployed 3x (Afghanistan twice and Iraq), and I only wore it when he was home safe. He’s now in the Air Force. The horse in the picture is now my broodmare and the dam of a mare I named to honor his service. Her registered name is Climb To Glory, the slogan of the 10th Mountain Division where he was stationed for about 10 years, and her barn name is Echo (his MOS is 15-Echo - drone maintainer).
We know that there are many other special details stitched into show clothing around the world. Whether
to remember a special day or beloved person or partner, using fashion to express that love is a wonderful way to have that extra bit of confidence as you jog into the pen.

that weekend and buying her. She checked every box that I had except for being a red roan, my dream horse was supposed to be either a blue or bay roan LOL!
Where, what level, and in what classes do you show your roan?
WENDY BOYNTON & STRUTTIN ON SONDEE
When and where did you first see your roan, how did you end up with him as yours, and how long have you owned her?
In April 2019 I saw a stunning, huge, red roan mare in a for sale video and I fell in love. After sending the video link to my sweet hubby Dusty, he gave me the “OK” to get more information on her and we ended up going to Ocala
We just started our show career this spring. My trainer Scott Tyrrell has been showing in the Level 1 (Green Western Pleasure) and won circuit championships at the Lucky 7, the Summer Sizzler and was reserve world champion at the ARHA World Show. They were also top 5 in the Senior Western Pleasure. Chloe and I were 3rd at the Lucky 7 in the Level 1 Amateur WP, Circuit Champions at the Summer Sizzler and World Champions in the Amateur Walk/ Trot Horsemanship at the ARHA World Show and top 5 in the Amateur Western Pleasure.
What is your favorite thing to do with your roan horse?
Spending time with her, whether it’s riding, grooming or even just hanging out in the stall or while she eats grass. Anytime spent with her is my favorite. She is so sweet and affectionate. I have never owned a mare that just loves people like she does.
What is your favorite memory with your roan horse?
There are so many favorites that it is hard to pick just one. The day she became mine, the first time I showed her, and definitely getting to show her at the ARHA World Championship Show.
What are your thoughts about the American Roan Horse Association?
I am so proud to be a member of this Association. The association and the members that I have had contact with as so supportive, helpful and encouraging. I attended the ARHA
World Show last year but I didn’t show. My goal for 2022 was to be able to attend and show at the World Show and I have to say that it definitely did not disappoint! I am excited to be a part of an organization that is showing so much growth and all of the new programs are amazing! I am already excited about the ARHA World Championship Show in 2023 and I am working to get my daughter’s (Heather Elmore) Roan Bred horse “Just Good Dynamics” signed up so we can show together!
