STRENGTH
HIG H R I S E M I X ED USE T O WER
1. Nehru place is located on the outer ring road and is well connected by all modes of transport 2. Nehru place is designed in such a way that large open spaces are there between the towers and buildings, in form of courtyards and parking. 3. There are multiple options to enter the site from all sides. 4. Parking areas are closed to the office towers which divides the vehicular crowd from the main road.
WEAKNESS Located in new Delhi India in the Zone F of the city, Nehru place is located just adjacent to the main lala lajpat rai road and the outer ring road. his site is primarily located in the close proximity of three metro stations primarily, nehru place metro station, Nehru enclave and Kalkaji metro station
1. Since it was not planned to accommodate the existing number of population, congestion, lack of sanitation and a degrading infrastructure can be seen. 2. Absence of ramps and railings for differently abled. 3. Surface parking areas take up areas with potential for public and recreating areas for shopkeepers, employees and visitors. 4. Pedestrian pathways are entirely hardscaped and hence no kind of street furniture is available.
CONFLICTING POINTS
OPPORTUNITY
FOOTPATHS WITH INFLUENCE ZONE
1. There is a potential in converting the surface parking areas into green spaces or recreational spaces with active aesthetically pleasing frontages. 2. Inclusion of certain typologies to utilise the maximum potential of the area even after the office hours to make it lively and vibrant at night as well for eg: night market 3. The metro parking can be converted into mlcp and the area can be used as a multi modal transit hub. 4. The roads can include dedicated cycle paths and footpaths for safe movement of pedestrian.

1. The ever growing number of hawkers cause a threat to the place making of nehru place causing congestion and movement 2. There are only day time activities which makes the area unsafe at night. 3. No provision of onsite underground water tank for fire fighting services and fire hydrants on site. 4. Combined system for sewerage disposal and storm water has been used, resulting water gets stagnant after rain.

1. Presence of roads on all the four sides hence the traffic commutation causes noise pollution. 2. The presence of water table will deploy greater difficulties in the development of foundation for the building. 3. Improper sewage system
1. The site lies in high earthquake zone( seismic zone 4) which will require additional preventive measures to avoid any damage. 2. As site issurrounded by road on all the four sides has high risk of encroachment. 3. Most of the residential buildings in the area are dependent upon boring for meeting their water requirements and that poses a threat to the water table present in the area.
DEVELOPMENT and SITE PLAN EXTROVERT ARCHITECTURE
• Extrovert architecture is characterized by a more open spatial layout. • It displays more flexibility in private/public separation due to its respective social life, gender roles, and spatial organization of the built environment. • It openly exhibits its facade, elements, and beauty to the outdoor public and does not much refrain from showing what happens within the house.
INTROVERT ARCHITECTURE
• An introvert house has a sharp separation between private and public life. • Introvert architecture is a spatial pattern that tends to conceal what exists or occurs inside, insisting on privacy, seclusion, and secrecy of the house. The very beauty of the architecture could be observed only when you are inside the building or in its courtyard which play a decisive role.
Thus the inspiration from the extroversion architecture and introversion architecture helped to formulate the concept of extroversion and introversion in this design where extroversion has been used to increase the aesthetics of the facade or to make the display of the building speak by using any prominent style of architecture and introversion has been used in the design of the interior spaces such as the inclusion of a central courtyard acting as a main space for circulation.
• SITE AREA - 7 ACRES • GROUND COVERAGE 17.97 % • F.A.R. ACHIEVED - 3.4 • TOTAL BUILT UP AREA - 97301 SQM • TOTAL UNITS - 1036
The final overlay depicts that extroversion can be made more appealing by means of Jharokhas, pointed arches etc. Whereas, introversion can be improved by adding elements such as domed kiosks, central courtyard, etc.
