FROM THE EDITOR May 2014
“For behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land”. (Song of Solomon 2:11-12) ESV Winter is now behind us, and just ahead await warmer and sunnier days. An expressed metamorphosis of spring is unfolding before our very eyes. There is a re-birthing of all things and ALL things are being made anew.
Belinda John, D.D. Editor In Chief
“What is to change around you, must first change within you”. These were the very words the Lord whispered into my heart when the seasons of my life first began to change. Now, as spring blossoms, I am reminded once again of His words.
We are a prophetic people who are called to dream and sub-create with God. Thus, a springtime mind-set is one set on the abundantly blessed life. “The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s; but the earth He has given to the children of men.” (Psalm 115:16) So even as the lord is continuously producing and mighty are His works, there are still works He desires to produce in and through us. I believe this season to be a time when we will begin to see the even greater works Jesus declared being revealed and materialized in the life of every believer.
Rejoice, for the winter is past and the rain is over and gone!

Relief from Soreness and Achiness
Muscle pain frequently results from prolonged or vigorous physical exercise undertaken by someone who is unaccustomed to strenuous activity. Even fit people can be caught by surprise if they push themselves a little too far or use a muscle group that they don’t usually exercise.
8
ShulamiteWomen | May 2014
For example a fit walker may suffer muscle aches and pain after cycling because the leg muscles will be used in a different way. Cycling will make more use of muscles that may not be over stressed by walking and the resulting sore muscles can come as a surprise to a fit walker or jogger. Muscle pain can come on relatively quickly after exercise and certainly by the next day the affected person can be suffering quite badly from aching muscles.
THERE IS AN END TO MUSCLE ACHE
If, for example, leg muscles are hurting badly and stiff it may be difficult to walk freely. Descending stairs with aching muscles can be difficult and if your legs muscles are stiff and sore you may have to descend stairs sideways like a crab for a day until the muscles loosen up. After a few days, usually no more than 72 hours, the muscles will gradually free up and stop hurting but you should see a Doctor if the pain and stiffness persists longer than a week. There is chance you might have actually injured a tendon, ligament or joint or have developed some other problem. There are some other causes for muscle aches and for example, if you do too little exercise, prolonged inactivity may cause muscle ache. Some medical conditions may also cause muscle ache but for now I am just referring to muscle ache caused by over use.
OVER WORKING THAT MUSCLE
The most common muscle aches are in the legs as they are the easiest to over exercise by walking to running to far or fast but any muscle or group of muscles can ache if pushed beyond their usual limits. Even your stomach muscles can ache painfully if you have been sick and vomiting forcefully.
BEAT MUSCLE SORENESS
If your muscles are aching there are a few things you can do to relieve the aches. 1. Rest the affected muscles from overly strenuous effort for 24-48 hours after the exercise that caused soreness -- especially, if the soreness is due to a weight lifting routine. For this time period, exert not more than around 50% of the level of effort (weight, distance and speed) that caused the muscle groups to be sore. This is the very best way that you can avoid feeling much pain from the
soreness. If weight lifting, target different sets of muscles on different days. Give your sore muscles time to rebuild after you have strained and exerted them. Try doing chest one day, legs the next, core the next, back the next, and arm and forearm exercises the final day. Repeat when you have reached the final muscle group installment 2. Massage is the best thing to do to your muscles. When you exercise to exhaustion, tiny tears occur in muscle fibers. The body’s natural response to these tears is inflammation. Massage helps reduce the amount of cytokines the body produces, which play a role in inflammation. Seek out a massage therapist and allow them to work on your sore muscles. Massage therapy is relaxing, meditative, and healing. Massage the muscles yourself. Depending on the location of the soreness, you can try to give yourself a massage. Use a combination of your thumbs, knuckles and palms to work deep into the muscle tissue 3. Stretch the muscles out. This will also help to get the lactic acid out of your muscles. Waiting a few hours after a strenuous workout before stretching is not the best. Stretch after activity that caused the soreness to prevent becoming stiff. Ice the muscle indirectly. Doctors recommend icing the muscle or muscle groups immediately after activity to reduce inflammation and provide more lasting relief. When icing a muscle or muscle group, it’s best to wrap an ice pack in some sort of buffer — light cloth works well — before applying the ice. If you’re an athlete, consider investing in a five-gallon bucket. For soreness of the arms (like from playing tennis) a five-gallon bucket filled with ice water will allow you to ice the whole arm at one time. This method will also work for feet. 4. Apply heat. After the first day of soreness, heat can be used to help blood flow to the muscle. This will help rebuilding take place and provide some soothing relief. 5. Take a shower. Allow warm water to hit the muscles, relaxing them. Alternate with warm and cool water for a homemade hydrotherapy treatment. 6. Plan a proper diet including keeping hydrated. If your muscles are sore from intense activities such as weight lifting, your muscles are rebuilding themselves, needing water and lots of
protein. Aim to take in 1 gram of protein per day for every pound of lean body mass you have. For example, a 160 lb. man at 20% body fat would want to take in approximately 130 grams of protein per day. This will speed up recovery times considerably, as well as prevent muscle loss from poor nutrition. Take Protein 15 to 45 minutes after workout for best results. 7. Drink lots of water while you work out and throughout the day. Your muscles need water to function at their peak, and your body needs water to repair your muscles. Don’t forget to drink water. 8. Avoid soreness before it happens. Consider taking vitamins, antioxidants, and other supplements. This will help prepare your body for a more strenuous version of the exercise. Vitamin C and antioxidants, in particular, have been effective in helping to prevent muscle soreness. Blueberries, artichokes, and green tea are antioxidantrich, while chili peppers, guavas, and citrus fruits are all high in vitamin C. Look into supplementing with branched-chain amino acids and others before exercise -- such as l-glutamine, l-arginine, betaine, and taurine -- may help prepare to clear waste products from your muscles. This also may promote recovery and protein-turnover, rebuilding muscle. 9. If you’re working out, ease into your workout not by stretching, but by warming up with a light simulation, using the targeted muscles in lighter exercise than you are going to be performing in the following minutes. 10. Take a bath. Fill your bath with warm water and a muscle relaxing liquid soap such as, Dr. Teal’s Bath Salts. Stay in the bath for around 15 - 25 minutes for best results.
SLOW DOWN AND TAKE A BREAK!
This is one message you can’t ignore. If everything is a struggle and you don’t have your usual energy levels for anything then it’s likely you are depleted. A day off is normally not enough to recover from the level of work we put our bodies through. If your legs are telling you to slow down then do your best to listen and stop. Most of us will crack mentally before we break physically from fatigue. It’s imperative that you listen to your body and give it the rest it needs. In doing so, you’ll be able to live the long and healthy life God desires for you.

adies, when was the last time a gentleman opened your car door, held the door opened as you entered a building, or gestured for you to order from the menu first?
Men, can you recall the last time you did these things? Hopefully most of you were able to answer those questions relatively quickly and on a positive note. For the rest of you, all is not lost. Simple niceties should come to us naturally, but as most of us can attest, it eludes most. Good manners should be expected of both men and women, but there’s something particularly disturbing about a man being inconsiderate of a lady (no matter how old she is).
10
ShulamiteWomen | May 2014
For example, allowing a door to slam shut in her face, or taking the last available seat while she stands is totally unacceptable. Do we need men to hold doors open for us? Of course we don’t. Many women would argue that they don’t need a man to do anything for them. That attitude is a big part of the problem! Along with women’s desire for independence, came a blurred line between chivalry and politeness. While chivalry strictly involves men extending courteous behavior to women, politeness is simply having good manners. Some men tend to downgrade how they treat women in certain situations. A highly successful woman, in some cases, won’t get the respect she deserves from her male colleagues. However, women can be successful and respected at the same time. In fact, we should demand it! Men were once boys and it was at that point parents should have stressed how they expect them to treat females. Likewise, parents must lead by example……. “Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity” (Titus 2:7 ESV). Whether raising boys with your husband or as a single parent, you should: • • • • • • • • •
Teach them to respect girls Never allow them to touch a girl in anger Teach them boys and girls are different. They can’t treat a girl like “one of the boys” Instruct them to open doors for you and other female family members Teach them to never allow others to take advantage of, or hurt girls in their presence Instruct them to treat their female teachers like they treat you (RESPECT THEM)! Teach them to never call females mean-spirited names Teach them to offer girls assistance with heavy items and other tasks Instruct them to give up their seat to a young lady if all seats are taken
It really is the small things that make a big difference. By teaching our young men to love and respect women, we are giving them the tools to be a real man that women will admire. Ladies, while you strive to claim your independence, don’t lose your femininity in the process. There’s something sweet about an elderly gentleman tipping his hat to you, or a young man that opens a door, steps to the side and says, “ladies first”. Until next time…….continued blessings.

the change in behavior that John was speaking about in the verse quoted. We see in the life of Jesus the expression of Ts’dakah. Ts’dakah is translated, Acts of Loving kindness, meaning going beyond what is required (righteousness) by God. Our salvation is definitely not the result of works, but is the cause and effect of a heart change that brings forth a life that is willing to When we give our lives to Jesus Christ, He is our go beyond oneself to reach another. In this process I posed the question to the Lord, “How do I give away a gift that someone else has given me”? He replied, “It’s the gift that keeps giving”.
We were made righteous through faith and grace, but righteousness is action. The word righteous is a noun and comes from the Hebrew root Ts-d-K and the Greek verb Dikaio which both mean to do right, to be just. When we are made righteous by faith our behavior must change as well.
Our mandate is to be world changers. How do we accomplish this? We pay it forward one step at a time through acts of loving kindness. Jesus paid the price for us. He gave everything on the cross. Christ covenant with His church is a commitment in terms of life and death. It is difficult to understand, but a covenant is exactly that. When making a covenant, each party says, “Everything 1 John 2:6, “The one who says he remains in I have is yours!” That is exactly what we are to Him is obligated to walk the same walk just as do with God and then as well with others. The nurturing mother knows when to let go... and let God! 18
ShulamiteWomen | May 2014
Ephesians: 6:1-4 1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. 2 Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise; 3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. 4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. To Nurture means to provide an environment of constant verbal support, freedom to fail, acceptance, affection and unconditional love. The Bible Doesn’t say every woman should be a mother, but he does say whomever the Lord blesses to be mothers should do so responsibly. Mother’s have a unique and crucial role in their child’s life. Motherhood is not the kind of job where you clock in and clock out. Mothers are on call 24/7 -- Morning, Noon, and Night. There is nothing easy to being a parent, for you are responsible for the Nurturing of another human beings life until they full develop into independence, which is something that we can not take lightly. However, this also does not mean to hold on so tightly to a child that they find it hard to breath. At some point and time we have to release them, and let them go, and give them back to the Lord. It is easier to give your children back to the Lord if you understand from the beginning that they are not yours to keep. We must realize that we are the chosen stewards over the children that he gives us, whether you gave birth to that child or not. Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
As mother’s, our roles transition as our children grow. Our authority changes. We will move from the role of diaper changers, decision-makers, and discipline-enforcers to confidantes, and cheerleaders. Assessing this from a proper perspective one understand this breeds not disrespect but proper development. We must not only enforce rules and regulations, but also be a voice of support and reason. Proverbs 22:15 Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. What this means is that a child’s heart is filled with rebellion; but once you punish them for their wrong doings it will leave them. They have to learn right from wrong, and it’s our jobs to teach them! Mothers, I know watching the news can lead you to hold on even tighter to your kids, which is only normal, but we must remember that if you recognize that yesterdays children have become today’s adults, they will always love you for your tremendous contribution to that independence. But, if we choose to hold on and continue to be controlling and smothering to our children, they will grow up to resentful and try to move as far away as possible, because you didn’t allow them proper room to breathe and to live.
To all of the beautiful mothers out there, love and nurture your kids, and know when to let them go.

IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Award-winning Gospel Artist
God has given women the ability to endure pain in a way that our male counterparts can’t. Many would say that award-winning Gospel artist Sharetta-Nicole has had more than her share of trials. Growing up on the streets of Detroit, Sharetta-Nicole was one of ten children. Although it would seem that her childhood would be bubbling over with joy and excitement, Sharetta-Nicole’s life would be anything but. Recounting the harrowing story, she says, “I was molested at a very young age by a brother and an uncle. When I was 12 years old, I lost my father in an unfortunate and tragic medical accident. Responding to the screams of my mother, my brothers and I ran to the bedroom to find my father lying against the bed dying. I felt my father’s spirit leaving the room and I knew right then he was not coming back. Later, I learned that a dental procedure less than 24 hours earlier caused a blood clot to develop, which led to a stroke.” She continues, “Six months later, a week after my 13th birthday, I lost my mother. My mother and my sister were kidnapped and taken to a vacant house on the eastside of Detroit. My sister was raped and my mother was shot in the head and killed. Following the death of my mother, my oldest brother died of AIDS. I felt like I had lost everything; I felt completely alone. I was hurting continuously and in my darkest hour I contemplated and even attempted suicide. In spite of it all, God brought Christian people into my life who brought me hope. I found Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, when I was 15 and have been serving him ever since.” Since that time, she has taken her gut-wrenching testimony and poured it into her music. A singer, songwriter and guitarist, she released her first CD in 2010 called Level One: Jeremiah 29:11. Understanding that even in the worst of circumstances God had a plan for her life, Sharetta-Nicole took to the road to share her story and to inspire others, especially young people. Having opened up for Canton Jones, Rance Allen, Earnest Pugh and Martha Munizzi, she’s readying her sophomore project. The first song out of the gate is “B.O.S.S. (Better Off Saving Souls)”, a musical collage featuring Gospel, rap and dance music. She concludes, “God is doing great things in my life. This journey has not been easy but through it all, God has been by my side. I will forever give Him the praise.” For more information about Sharetta-Nicole, log on to www.sharettanicole.com.

However, this seemingly insatiable desire to get “there” can actually be detrimental. This relentless drive can often lead to burnout, frustration and even subpar performance. This subtle dissatisfaction can begin to overflow into other areas of life, and even adversely affect your relationships. I have long realized that most of us approach our life goals like a sprinter. We are either madly sprinting toward the finish line with every ounce of our strength and energy, or we are stalled out from running too far too fast!
dedication, devotion and discipline. The successive practice or discipline to achieve a goal can actually provide the inspiration to facilitate its completion. The ability to follow through on your commitment will create momentum. This momentum is like adding high octane fuel to a car. This fuel allows the car to run better for a longer distance. In addition, a feeling of accomplishment can actually be addictive, while consistently keeping your word can help to build character.
So what is the solution to this snare? How can we improve our performance? Is it possible to work more efficiently and accomplish our goals? Yes it is! But we must learn to PACE ourselves.
Finally, to pace yourself requires that you evaluate your progress to ensure that you are still aligned and on target to achieve the goal. Evaluating both the quality of the work as well as the time to completion are critical. This phase will allow for necessary revisions or changes without losing time, focus or energy.
Pacing yourself will enable you to stay focused and energized until you reach the goal. To pace yourself first requires that you have patience. Patience means enduring difficult or lengthy circumstances, without becoming discouraged or quitting. In many instances, patience may not be a natural tendency; however, it can be cultivated or developed. It may be helpful to spread out your tasks, keeping in mind that things take time. Occasionally, you may need to reorient yourself to what really matters. Pacing yourself also requires that you remain aligned. Properly arranging and coordinating your efforts will prove invaluable to achieving your goal or completing your project. It is easy to lose focus and energy, when our efforts seem wasted.
We should also celebrate our progress and discipline along the way. All too often, we neglect this crucial step, and rather than make continual assessments along the way, we make one final determination of pass or fail. Yet, there is so much more at stake, and far more to learn and celebrate. The destination is only half of the journey. So to conserve your energy, celebrate your progress, and complete your goals... PACE yourself!
Spend the necessary time planning and organizing your steps to success. Then simply take one step at a time. Resist the urge to double up or skip steps. It may seem harmless enough, but it could have a negative impact on your motivation. Motivation is like a car battery. If you leave the car lights on, chances are that you will have a dead battery tomorrow. Pacing yourself may involve a longer process, but finishing isn’t optional. Pacing yourself demands a commitment. This commitment is what transforms your hopes and dreams into reality. Making a commitment involves

After the death of Saul and Jonathan, David lamented over them with a song in 2 Samuel 1:19 – 27. Several times throughout the song the words ‘How the mighty have fallen’ was mentioned. He went on to acknowledge that Saul’s shield was not anointed with oil and therefore didn’t protect him in the battle. Recently there have been so many devastations among Christian leaders. The occurrence of suicide, adultery, pornography, and alternative lifestyles is happening more often than not. I believe it is a wake up call to the body of Christ. Far too long, we have made leaders idols and have esteemed them almost on the level of God. We have put a unreasonable amount of pressure on them to be immortal. Yes I agree that to whom much is given much is required, but we must be careful not to expect from leaders more than they can give us. There was a time when I would condemn without mercy or grace, a leader that fell into what we call ‘big sins’ as mentioned above. I knew about God’s mercy and grace, but I didn’t have a revelation of the extent of it until I heard a message on the grace of God. It was so powerful that it spoke to the very core of my belief system. Because of the revelation that I have received my heart goes out to any leader that has fallen. I’ve learned that when it comes to grace and mercy, GOD IS NOT A MAN! The gifts that He gives us are without repentance. Because we fall it doesn’t mean that we are disqualified. Proverbs 24:16 says, for a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again. This does not give us the right as leaders to frustrate the grace of God but to understand that in our weakness He is made strong. When I look at David and see all that he did wrong, I am reminded of the grace of God that kept him from staying down. He was known as a man after God’s own heart. How could this be, even after he sleeps with a man’s wife then orders his death? But for the grace of God. Out of something so devastating came something so beautiful –Solomon, the wisest man that ever lived. God is not a man. The next time a mighty one has fallen, by the grace and mercy of God pick them up and restore them back to their rightful place in the Kingdom of God. Kingdom leaders are not perfect they are mortal women and men of God that are who they are because of the grace of God. Yes God’s standard will always be holiness. As we press towards the mark for the
prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus, if you see a fallen brother on the way, pick him up and help him reach the mark. This race that we are running is not given to the swiftest but to he who endures to the end.
Take your leader off the pedestal and help to protect them from a fall by: ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊
Removing unreasonable expectations and demands of them Praying for them Not making them an idol Understanding that they have problems just like you Not becoming part of the problem, but a part of the solution.
He who has begun a good work is faithful to complete it! Better is the ending of a thing than the beginning. It’s not how you start, its how you finish. When we fall God’s hand is there to catch us. Fear not because God will never leave us or forsake us. Shake off the dust and finish your course. 2 Corinthians 4:7-17 reads, But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. 8 We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— 10 always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. 11 For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 12 So then death is working in us, but life in you. 13 And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,”[a] we also believe and therefore speak, 14 knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present us with you. 15 For all things are for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God. 16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. God is up to something great and He has you in mind, even after a fall!

The Power of Values Clarification
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:2)

Leaders have the opportunity to work with and lead many people for good or for evil from varying backgrounds and many different belief systems. Clearly the Bible tells us that although we are in this world, we are not of this world and are not to conform to worldly standards. It also tells us that we are the salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13). Therefore, we are to influence others with Kingdom values and principles and not be swayed by worldly persuasions. Far too often, Kingdom citizens allow themselves to be led away by fleshly desires and are tempted to become a part of a world system that is destined to fail. Values are a person’s ideas about what he or she deems most important in his or her life. A person’s values will lead him or her to decide between right and wrong. It will serve as a basis for your ethical standards of living. It is a person’s values that serves as behavioral standards that drive and support their purpose and vision. As children of the Most High God, it is imperative that our values be Kingdom based. There is a saying that ‘actions speak louder than words.” This statement is so true because if we take the time to look closely we can determine what a person holds to be valuable and true based on their actions alone. Although a person says, “I love you”, the fact that they constantly abuse and berate you says that they really don’t love you. A person’s outward actions and behaviors are most often driven by a silent force behind many of your actions and decisions. That silent force is their values system.
through obedience allow Him to perform His good work in us. Values clarification is a hidden culprit behind many ethical issues that occur in various organizations and ministries that lead to downfall. In our leadership roles, values clarification is important to self-improvement for personal success as well as in leadership of and interactions with others. David was at a point of values clarification when he wrote Psalm 51.
The goal of “values clarification” is for us to become fully conscious of our influence, and to explore and honestly acknowledge what we truly value at any given time in our lives. You can be more self-directed and effective when you know which values you really choose to keep and live by as an adult, and which ones will get priority over others. In this process of clarifying your values follow these steps: 1. Identify and rank at least five areas that you consider important to your life and well-being. Is it a deep relationship with God? Is it having control over your life? Is it having committed followers? 2. For each value list what it would look like. For example, having committed followers may “look like” a.) having followers who go the extra mile b.) having followers who don’t grumble or complain c.) having followers who “think outside the box”
Since we are assigned to take dominion over the world systems, we must have a conviction about who we are and whose we are. We must also know what our purpose is and 3. Decide what specific steps you intend to take to see never lose sight of it. We must also understand that the kingthese things happen for example. dom of darkness, the world system, operates contrary to the a.) seek godly counsel Kingdom of Light and how we choose to operate in it …our b.) choose someone who serves as an example where decisions and actions must align with the Kingdom of Light. you want to be in your life Where the world says there is no more grace and forgiveness c.) choose someone who can be objective without fear for our brother’s actions, we must be prepared to forgive and of compromising a relationship with you cancel debts (Matthew 18:21-27). Where the world may value one person over another, we, as Kingdom leaders must recognize the value of the gift God has placed within each In the book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon was at a point of person. (Psalm 139:14) values clarification and so will we as followers of Christ be given opportunity to clarify the things that really do matter in Hence, it becomes very important in our leadership roles life…those things that are eternal. We will be more effective to go through a process of values clarification. Sometimes as leaders in building ‘true’ followers. We are to always ask God will allow this to come about through circumstances and ourselves the following questions when making decisions: situations when we have to actually sit down and allow the “Is my decision outside the boundaries of scripture” and Holy Spirit to work in us to illuminate any dark areas and then secondly, “What is the wise thing to do?” Wendy Williams. Martha Munizzi
“Releasing the Worshipper!” Award-winning Gospel music singer, songwriter, and author, Martha Munizzi shares during an exclusive interview on fulfilling the call upon her life. For more informatiion visit: http://www.marthamunizzi.com/ On Birthing the Ministry: Music has always been an integral part of who she is. She explains how being raised in a musically inclined family, being used with the youth within her church, and being a part of the worship experience all cultivated the gift inside of her. Then I met my husband, who introduced me to gospel music and to who Andre Crouch was, I was about 16-17 years old then, and that was all I needed to hear. The rest is history, but it was really the local church where I got my start, and cut my CD, and so much has happened since then, but it’s truly been a lifetime experience of just loving music and being involved in worship. Speaks on the difficulties: It’s easy to believe that some folks are just born privileged but such was not with Martha, the Lord had her to birth a true testimony. Getting through the waiting moments. Waiting on the Lord, He gives us the desires of our hearts, He gives us the vision, you see the potential and possibilities of where you desire to be and then dealing with the moments, where its seems like it’s not happening, and where the doors aren’t opening, and the finances aren’t flowing, and these can all be very discouraging depending on how you spend your times in those seasons. There’s not just one, there are always times like this because it’s a faith walk, it’s just trusting the Lord. By rejecting the frustrations and distractions that came with those seasons Martha learned how to lean into God, and shares some valueable insight: Make spending time with the Lord a priority. Not legalistically, but by discipline one should incubate themselves to get the word in, seek God, read scripture and listen to worship music. Feed your spirit, and discipline your mind to be focused on God. For several months, while being disciplined herself in this area, she recounts of days where every morning she’d grab her coffee and watched Joyce Meyers on TV, or played Christian music, or would just pray first thing in the morning and it would just set the day. Speaks on Worship: I always encourage worship leaders don’t just be a worship leader, be a worshipper! Don’t sing, worship. She continues to say, “When it’s a true experience for you, then others follow along. You don’t have to beat people over the head, because if we are spending time in the Lord on our own, then the platform is just the overflow of what’s happened all week. Many people struggle to make things happen on Sunday when really it should just be the overflow. She firmly believes that what happens in your private time affects what happens in your public life. People can tell when you are truly spending time and developing in God. Martha shares on how she excited she is about what she sees in the Body of Christ, all across the Board, in the area of worship and the hunger for God’s presence she encounters.
God’s glory is being poured out on all flesh and I’m excited to see where the church is headed as it pertains to worship. When asked which songs are closest to her heart: All my songs are like my children, so it’s hard to pick just one, but one song that set me free was when the Lord gave me a song from Jeremiah 23, ‘I know the plans I have for you’ . That song came during one of those excruciating times, when I was waiting on the Lord, and we had done all the work, and we saw nothing manifest. Then God gave me this and I just cried and cried, and I told the Lord, I need to know that you didn’t bring us all the way out here to just leave us here and he directed me to this scripture and right then I began to see it over my life and I felt strengthened, nothing changed, but I had changed, which means in that moment everything changed. Martha Munizzi’s Secrets for Vocal Care: 1. Diet, exercise, and babying your voice are essential. 2. Learning to vocalize. 3. Massaging your vocals, (taking 2 fingers and massage the front of your throat). 4. Warming up before you sing at least 15-20 minutes. 5. Don’t overdo it, on days that you can’t hit the high notes stay away from them. 6. A good vocal coach can make a tremendous different. Her Closing Words: If it’s God’s plan for you, don’t get weary in well doing, its worth the wait, he has ordered your steps, so don’t lose hope! It’s God’s plan, so we don’t have to know the plan, it’s for him to know and for us to trust him. So what should we do in the meantime? Rejoice in the Lord always, pray without ceasing, and in everything give thanks!

Make Your Move!
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray…(2 Chronicles 7:14)
I
have recently been granted the opportunity to watch God make the impossible possible. Looking back through that process I have discovered some key maneuvers which I believe were instrumental in God doing what He did. Over the years I have been taught the importance of prayer, faith, decreeing and declaring, confessing and possessing and the like; but to literally watch the handiwork of God unfold before my eyes has given me greater appreciation for those foundational principles. The latter portion of James 5:16 says “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” This is a very familiar passage of scripture but what does it really imply? What actually happens when we pray this way? In my most recent journey, the Spirit of The Lord uncovered something powerful to me and I am elated to share it with you.
I notice a common thread that may be easy to overlook in the two scripture verses referenced above. There is a clear order set forth in scripture that causes the hand of God to move on our behalf. There is an expectation of the seeker to participate in the process, in other word you have to make your move. The latter portion of

2 Chronicles 7:14 says that only after God’s people humbled themselves, prayed, sought His face and turned from their wicked ways that He (God) would move on their behalf. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (James 5:16) Scripture clearly shows that God moves on our prayers after we make our move towards Him in humility and repentance. My recent encounter has given me insight into something phenomenal, the account of which is found in Hosea 2:21-22. It answers our previous question of what happens when we pray. When you turn to God in humility and repentance then pray, everything in your realm of influence is set on a course to align itself with your prayers until manifestation comes. Let’s look at the explanation in Hosea 2 (AMP) 21 And in that day I will respond, says the Lord; I will respond to the heavens [which ask for rain to pour on the earth], and they shall respond to the earth [which begs for the rain it needs], 22 And the earth shall respond to the grain and the wine and the oil [which beseech it to bring them forth], and these shall respond to Jezreel [restored Israel, who prays for a supply of them]. Restored Israel’s prayers initiated a chain reaction that once started would not stop until their desired outcome was realized.
Now let’s examine the reactions to Jezreel’s prayer: ◊ Reaction #1: The harvest or object of their prayer responded to Jezreel [restored Israel’s] prayer by crying out to the earth for manifestation. (verse 22) ◊ Reaction #2: The earth responded to the harvest by crying out to the heavens or the sky for rain. (verse 21) ◊ Reaction #3: The heavens responded to the earth by crying out to God for rain to pour on the earth. (verse 21) ◊ Reaction #4: God responded to the heaven’s request for rain to pour on the earth because the hearts of the people were turned back to God. (verse 21) What a powerful concept! As you go back and read all of Hosea chapter 2 you will find that what was
spoken in verse 21 was a result of what the symbolic Bride said in verse 7, “I will go and return to my first husband; for then was it better with me than now.” In this account a heart decision to turn back to God was the catalyst for manifestation. Jezreel made her move. It is my desire for you, my friend, that you will make your move towards God in humility and repentance so that your fervent prayer will set all nature on a course towards crying out to the Supernatural Father for manifestation in your life.
Most Holy Father, we take this very moment to turn our hearts towards you in humility and repentance. We thank you for your grace expressed through the shed blood of your dear Son Jesus the Christ. In this moment we receive the answer to every prayer of our hearts and are expectantly awaiting the manifestation of the same, in Jesus name. Amen.

The Current Tetrad Blood Moon Pattern Bishop Demetrius J. Sinegal
The scriptures are full of prophetic directions telling us that the Lord would speak through the Sun, the moon and the stars; from Genesis, to Joel, to Jeremiah, to the gospels we see the voice of God using these fixtures as his voice to his people. Pastor John Hagee describes a blood moon saying “A blood moon is when the Earth comes between the sun and the moon,” Hagee explained. “And the sun is shining through the atmosphere of the Earth and casts up on the moon a red shadow. And so the moon appears to be red.” The blood moon in and of itself is not what is significant nor attention getting. If we were to look historically at the rare occasions that this has previously occurred, we can see that just about every time this rarity occurred, something significant happened for and towards the nation of Israel. Theologians will concur that it is obvious throughout scripture that the people of Israel are The Lord’s people. Those who stood with Israel reaped favor with God, and those who stood against Israel reaped the wrath of God. God always went through great measures to either speak to the people of Israel or speak for them. Whether it was using locust and caterpillar, or taking control of entire bodies of water, there was no extent that heaven did not go to get His message to and for His people. I believe the current and pending series of blood moons, set to occur both in 2014 and in 2015 is prophesying to both the people of Israel and the world. During each of the past reoccurring blood moon we have seen “the best of times and the worst of times” (as the tale of two cities begins); most often tragedy would strike and then a resurgence and triumph would occur. We shall soon see the continuance of these occurrences in the coming days. Israel shall experience a tragic event that will end in a prophetic time of restoration and celebration. As we continue to draw towards the return of Christ, we will begin to see these reoccurring blood moons more frequently as He begins to deal with His people of Israel.
Bishop Demetrius J. Sinegal has been noted as an end time and highly sought after prophet of God to the Global body of Christ; sent into regions and nations to effect a paradigm shift in the spirit and minds of the people. He formerly served as Senior Pastor of The Prophets House Miracle Kingdom of Lafayette, LA prior to being led to Atlanta and subsequently releasing the church, and serves as Overseer of The Kingdom Church of Atlanta, GA. Countless lives have been saved, changed, delivered, set free, and touched by his ministry.

IN THE SPOTLIGHT
The power of what can happen when we have “No Plan B is revealed in this one-on-one interview with Carman. A truly inspirational spotlight and one that I believe will touch the hearts of many.

Carman shares on his latest project: No Plan B is a project that I recorded while I was in treatment over the last 8 months, and you know how for every record project you’re always looking for a title? Well, for me, there was nothing else I ever wanted to do, or any different road that I ever wanted to go down. For my life there is no plan B. I never positioned myself to say well I’m going to serve God and if that doesn’t work out well I’m going to be a police officer. I think there are people that can relate to that, they will follow the path God has chosen for their lives and for them, as well, there is no plan B. Shares on the Album: Every song on the CD represents a different moment in time, and different thought process. There is one song called “Jesus Heal Me”, and it’s a song about someone asking to be healed and there is another song called “I Did my Best” which is basically someone saying through all my faults, and the things that I may have done right or wrong, I did the best I could with what I had to work with. There is another song that I put a real Italian twist into, having grown up in New Jersey and having been around the mafia, there is a concept of being a made man which means a lifetime member, so I used that concept and made a song called “I’m a God Made Man” because I really am a lifelong member. On his Challenges: Valentine’s Day, last year 2013, I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, and didn’t even know what that was. I just knew that I had these crazy symptoms in body, and I realized it was a form of cancer and the doctors told me I only had a couple years to live. I didn’t really know what to think at the time, you know you always want to think that you have all the time in the world, but the bible says there is an appointed time for every man to die then the judgment. So we don’t predict the times we make our exit and the only thing we have anything to do with is what we do while we are still here.
go to a specialist in Little Rock Arkansas who knew how to treat this particular strain to the exclusion of all other cancers. People from all over the world go there. Once they accepted me in to their treatment program they said I would have to treat for 8 months solid. Before I left, I started the project and I was able to get my lead vocals on and I was able to get us a quick photos hoot and then we spend the rest of the time finishing up the record online and I was doing it from my bed and that’s how we finished it. Sharing words of wisdom: For those struggling with their life’s purpose. I think the most important thing is to find what does the Lord want for you and what is in your heart to do? And get those two things to line up, because you have to have something to go to and do in order to fight to get there, you have to know where you’re going and what you’re fighting for, so every fight has to have a goal. Determine what your goal is. What do you want to accomplish, and what do you want to do, and how does that line up with what God is speaking to you? You can have lots of goals, and you can have other people’s goals, but the only thing God is going to bless is the goals he gives to you. Just because you have an ability to do something doesn’t mean that is your life calling or career, the bible states that a man’s gift makes a way for him and brings him before great men. To make a way means to actually be able to pay for bills, or make commerce, and make money at it. So if God has given you a specific gift, he’s given it to you so that you can support yourself. The gift is two-fold: to satisfy the gift that is inside of you and also to make provision for you. What do you do that you can make money at? Passion can distract you from your gift, there should be provision attached to it.
The Music Industry has changed, people want different types of music, and it happens to every artist somewhere along the way, where you do the same thing you’ve always done and sometimes the people are cheering and going crazy and other times they are like so what? I was in the so what period, for a time. So when the doctor gave me the news, I said ok, this is how I’m making my exit. Shortly after that, I heard from a friend I hadn’t heard from in like 20 years and he encouraged me to put out another record, and he convinced me that I had nothing to lose, and so that is exactly what we did. We both agreed that the expenses were great and opened up an avenue by which the public could contribute and they did, not only did we raise enough money to make the record, but to promote it, and put it out. Now, that we had all these things in place, and all systems were go, the treatment that I was in was not working and I was not making any progress and was getting worse. I had to then
