It is based on the humanistic cultural base of designers, who were architects as well, and the long lasting tradition of handicraft productions widespread in Italy. From Problem Solving to Problem Setting: design as a global project “from Spoon to Town”. Market orientation: Indipendent Designers working for “specialised” entrepreneurial companies.


The Expansion of Italian Design

Followed customers’ needs development and markets growth of the XXth Century. Integrated activity to perceive signals of markets and society and transform them into new products and services. Located in the Milan area, spread around the world thanks to: • Companies and their Show Rooms • Fairs and Exhibitions: Salone del Mobile, Milano Fashion Weeks • Magazines • Schools



Domus Academy

Domus Academy was set up in Milan in 1982, with the aim to become a reference center for Italian Design and Fashion. During the years, it extended its scope to the fields of: • Interaction Design • Urban and Architectural Design • Interior Design • Service Design • Business Design
