GLOBAL ISSUE !?
URBAN AGRI COMPLEX -Technological Agricultural Institute at Chennai ,India
Land is Shrinking resources while availability of land for agriculture is reducing and the demand for food grains is increasing day by day
Urbanization
is one of the key drivers of change in the world today as the world’s urban population will almost three times from the current 3.5 billion to more than 9 billion by 2050. As of April 2001, 82 nations were defined as low-income food deficit countries

According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) estimates, by 2050, global food demand will grow by 70% to the needs of the global population. As the natural resource to feed this population is going to be difficult task urban agriculture is seen as big solution to the problem.
quality life of the people residing in this urban city
CHENNAI
India !!needs enough food to feed more than a billion people. The population is still growing.Agriculture
occupies key position in India .The research on agriculture in India is more importance in today’s urbanization. India is the land of agriculture is said to be as Back bone of india,60% of the total population of India still depends upon agriculture by 2050 it will be in 20%. Agriculture is the main stay of our economy. It provides food to our billions and raw materials for our industries .India also has enormous potential as an exporter of agricultural commodities. >>irrigation scarcity of ground water, which makes it impossible for the farmers to cultivate >>real estate increase in population has led to eating up of the agricultural land. >>market farmers suffer huge loss in the hands of middlemen. >>technology The scientist must carry on more researches to develop Agri-fields >>infrastructure basic needs like production, processing, storage, market space are out of their reach. >>information lack of information of new invention & farming methods must be created Agricultural Education is the teaching of agriculture, natural resources, and land management
WHAT is UAC ? An URBAN AGRI COMPLEX -Technological
agricultural institute is the campus
that deals with learning, research and training of crops and farmers within a campus .it also provide facilities to sell the modified crops and to exhibit the new innovation in agriculture farming.
LEARNING
This campus will also provide demo farming where the new invensions regarding agricultre are used and this will act as a place to grow crops under a
TRAINING
Research activity aimed at improving productivity and quality of crops .
RESEARCH
Selling agricultural product to the consumer such as growing and harvesting, grading, packing, transport, storage, agro and food processing, distribution.
NEED >To create a good integration between the built form , farm space and people by creating a network which supporting to each other towards future needs. > To reduce the numerous, life threatening, and widespread problems due to industrialized eating habits. >To spread the knowledge, skills and potentials of Agriculture to students and farmers. >Present city is congested and land is not sufficient for the Agriculture.

EXISTING SITE PICTURES
Site orientation is to north and its
elongated towards east to west ,which makes the more horizontal radiation over the site, optimum ori is with 20 degree Advantage of presence of water body on the site makes the site cool during high suns radiation
The sun path diagram clearly
shows that more amount of surface
area of the site
is being exposed to the sun , its gets heated more. Site experience more of
horizontal radiation proper vegetation & shading has to be done to reduce the heat gain.

AIM : The main AIM of this thesis is to bring together diverse people and their ideas in an environment that creates potential for AGRICULTRE. High tech technology based agriculture and cultivation under controlled climate conditions. It would also facilitate flow of investment, technologies, skill sets and modern practices. OBJECTIVE >To attract more students and research activities in agricultural field. >To develop a new perspective of the research and farming process. > To enhance the sustainability of urban facilities by implementing vertical farming such as food, energy, water, introduction of effective technologies.

Deformation of leaf
Tracing the deformed leaf forms the main netowork system wtih leads to designing main & secondary spine with interlocking of open spaces as a fallen leaf from the tree which forms the farmlands
Its about building intergrated with agriculture which explores developing innovations, businesses ,and project that employ agricultural activity within the building and its also defining Agriculture as landscaing element into the design .
PHASE 3 -Result Spatial growth pattern of the city formed with centre core as its CBD surrounded by other services where the agriculture is pushed to the outskrits which causes famers to sell their lands .This proposed Agri complex designed with famland as its entrance , surrounded by the other services which also forms an protype for growth of an city with respect to the farm lands. The layout has the relationship between nature and built environment between built environment and technology is woven closely and each is capable of modifying the other built spaces are oriented around the farm land respecting the topography of the site , venturi effect enriches the air movement between the built forms.Around the site forms, a green belt helps in maintaining micro climate and acts as buffer zone
The overall site plan of Urban Agri-complex development is arranged into 3 major zones 1.ACADEMIC ZONE: this zone serves as the heart of the project which linking other zones which allow to learn and research about agriculture. 2.PUBLIC SQUARE: this zone serves as the main public attraction with its exhibit and marketplaces for agro products, demo farm to teach the new generation, museum to learn about evolution of agriculture 3.AGRI CLINIC: this zone serves as the main research about crop and its pattern with high involvement of technology and skill set, this zone also trains farmers and distribute processed food to the public zone thus reducing the carbon footprint
