Innovation today is increasingly going beyond the confines of formal research and development. In an increasing global economy where knowledge about how to excel competitively and information about who excels are both readily available, the effective creation, use and dissemination of knowledge is the key to success and thus to sustainable economic and social development that would benefit us all.

Rural and urban areas are encroaching one another’s resources escalating the existing complications and impairing the quality of life. Of the infinite factors affecting the development of India seasonal migration is a threat in disguise. It accounts for the floating population throughout the country and also plays a major role in the economic growth.

Rubanization It is the deconstruction of “urbanism itself and the dissolving of the distinction between rural and urban spaces to describe the new form of human settlement upon the landscape inorder to fit the new reality emerging. It is time to unknot the complexities of survival using the utmost ordinary solution. It ensures a self sustaining community thereupon relieving the cities from stress. ware co-op house + socie ty

This approach to a rural station not only establishes it as a hub, Satisfying the immediate needs of the surrounding villages but also operates as public domain to develop interaction among people. In areas of seasonal migration, thr identified nodes can also be tackled with the same approach. Since the railway lands are only used for revenue generation, the village panchayats along with the railways for a cooperative society to initiate and design required facilities to meet the requirements of the surrounding areas.
exploded diagram Railways integrate the country on a common platform and “Incarnation of the railway station emphasizes on the utilization of the existing footprint and imposing a contextual identity. The design revolves on creating open market space opening up the railway station to the public enhancing the visual connectivity on both sides of the station. The warehouse and amphitheatre also contribute to the existing public activity on the other side while the public corridor improves the access to the former. Silos are introduced for the storage of salt. The railway station forms a multi functional zone for occupational and recreational activities.
The existing deck cantievers over the artificial lake serving as a view point. The idea is to ulilise its location and enhance the experience of a public place like this.

Existing plan
In order to blur the rigid separation between water and land and to take man closer to nature, two levels have been created.
My Outdoor Room In the chaos we have come to call a city, public spaces have lost both their essence and quality. In an attempt to recreate these public spaces at a more personal level, “An Outdoor Room” has been proposed in response to a landscape re-design competition.
Ramps have been used to connect both the levels. Pedestrian level plan
Necklace road, a walking trail along an artificial water body, is one of the busiest places of Hyderabad. Inspite of its serene location, the place is devoid of essence due to the lack of a few basic considerations. Keeping these factors in mind, a zone has been created at the intersection of water and land to blur the rigidity of the existing landscape and to create a much needed place for an individual to contemplate. This “Outdoor Room” offers city dwellers a much needed respite from the chaos that has become an inevitable part of the burgeoning city.
The lower deck has been designed to offer a tangential path to the pedestrians who can momentarily be isolated from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Assam Valley School Boys Hostel Service Building
Ismc 250 Channel Assam Valley School restructures the site by yielding a simple rectangular podium over which different buildings of the junior school rest. Common facilities have been placed across this podium in the form of linear pavilions that interlock the project with the existing landscape. The service building for the boys hostel is one such pavilion that has grit finished plaster as the external treatment and sloped floating corrugated metal sheets resting on C-sections as the roof.

Axonometry -Icecream Parlor
6° F Six Degrees Fahrenheit derives its inspiration from Piet Mondrian art. The objective was to create brand identity for an upcoming chain of cafes using his design philosophy. With overwhelming site restrictions, the design brief was challenging and demanded a radical site intervention that can both stand out from and blend into the existing conditions.

Color Grill
The signature steel frame that doubles up as a protective grill sets it apart from the existing site conditions. This design element also blurs the distinction between open and closed structure, thus creating a connection between the inside and out.

Keeping this in mind, the pent house has been designed with wide openings and rustic interiors. Innovative use of commonplace materials like reinforcement bars over the more conventional materials makes the place interesting.

Furniture Design Dramanon Dramanon is a theatre group that operates out of three cities in India: Manipal, Bangalore and Hyderabad. I have been associated with Dramanon over a span of five years, as part of their production design and was instrumental in the production of plays like Bhopal, Cant Pay Wont Pay, Fools and Pointless to a point, etc. Dramanon’s latest play “India Oye”, an adaptation of the play “America Hurrah” was highly narrative and involved complicated properties including oversized face masks. These Masks have been made from recycled paper made into paper mache and cardboard.
