ISOLATION TO CONNECTION For community members who do not currently participate in Sid Jacobson JCC senior programming, we have partnered with UJAFederation of New York to provide shortterm social work services and personalized connection with long-term resources.

For adults and seniors who are frail and/or diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, FTD, Parkinson’s, or other neurodegenerative conditions. All programs require an assessment to ensure proper placement.

YOUNG-ONSET ADULT DAY PROGRAM Let’s Do Lunch™ Enjoy physical, intellectual, and social stimulation for individuals in their 40s, 50s, and 60s with Young Onset Dementia, including frontotemporal degeneration. Specifically designed for younger individuals, we offer basketball, support groups, in-studio exercise, music, dancing, hot kosher lunch, and more. Sid Jacobson JCC Monday-Thursday 10am-2pm
OLDER ONSET ADULT DAY PROGRAM The Denise & Robert Silverberg Family Friendship Circle and GEMS II programs provide a structured, stimulating environment that encourages social, cognitive, and physical stimulation through various group activities for those with memory or functional impairment as a result of Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, stroke, and other conditions. As the disease process progresses from mid to moderate stage, our programs are equipped to meet each individual where they need to be met. Coffee, snacks, and hot kosher lunch provided.

EARLY STAGE MEMORY LOSS PROGRAM GEMS I includes a professionally facilitated support group and memory-strengthening exercises for individuals with insight into their diagnosis. Members share experiences with others facing similar challenges and learn about resources to assist them. Scholarship Fund for GEMS I is made possible in part through a legacy provided by Alice Gross in memory of Abe Gross.
MNEME THERAPY A one-hour individual art session that provides a rewarding experience by combining painting, singing, movement, and storytelling in a supportive environment.

CARE DAY SYMPOSIUM An educational day for caregivers and professionals featuring the next generation in meeting care needs. Meet Amanda Bulgarelli, a Dementia Care Training Specialist and daughter of Teepa Snow. The event will include a resource fair and continuing education credits for social workers and mental health professionals. Sunday, April 23 10am-3pm
