The season is back and we’re not doing anything by halves to celebrate… It’s our favourite time of the year as tan season gets underway again, and this year feels extra special thanks to our new-found freedoms. It’s great to finally see events filling up the calendar, no doubt ensuring packed diaries and busy salon floors. Encourage tan fittings Every bride wants to be confident they are going to look nothing less than perfect on their special day. Tan fittings are an opportunity for you and the bride to trial the treatment but also fill them with reassurance of the colour they will achieve before the big day.

It doesn’t stop at the bride When booking in treatments make sure you consider the bridal party as a whole… and don’t forget the groom! Bridal packages are a great way of encouraging others to look golden on the day.

Capture your clients Research local wedding fairs to promote your services. Showcase your treatments by offering a tester and watch them fall in love with the products.

Tailor your services Bespoke your service. During the consultation period find out what shade your client would like to go, their skin type and how they naturally tan. Tan fittings are a great way of finding out which day your client preferred their colour on.

Marketing your business Promote, promote, promote. Take advantage of our tailored marketing material to appeal to bridal parties. Linking up with other local businesses is a great way of encouraging new clients, such as hairdressers. Always ask your bride to leave a review – word of mouth is an invaluable tool.

Make it special Prom day is often the first time girls really get to wear a glamorous dress, so make it a day to remember. Look at offering a package with other treatments and make your client feel special.

Encourage tan fittings Just like a bride, your client will want to feel picture perfect at their prom. Encourage booking before so your client can feel confident in their shade.

Spray tan parties Promote prom pamper parties to maximise on your prom related bookings. Offer incentives for bookings, such as allowing the host to receive a discount. Build refreshments and goody bags into your parties to make it a truly special event.

Decide on your branding colour scheme to determine a clear aesthetic and tone of voice.

Showcase results Before and after photos really drive engagement on social. Be sure to ask permission for usage in writing from the client in question - you don’t have to show faces, showcasing the tan line is usually enough to wow your following.

Post regularly Even if it’s two or three times a week, a regular posting schedule will keep you on track around your busy diary as well as ensuring consistent engagement from your audience. Trial and test times for posting to see what your followers respond best to – for example, you may find post perform better early in the morning before work rather than during rush hour when no one is scrolling through their feed. Keep an eye on the trends We’re living in a world where everything moves at the speed of the light – including trends. Try to keep your ear to the ground – if a look has blown up on the Internet, chances are there’s a way you can spin this to market one of the treatments you offer. 5
