Health Mat ters with Dr. Harris Back Pain Down to Level Zero... Pain Free!
hen Ken Masaki’s close friends recommended chiropractor Dr. Steve Harris for his back pain, he was skeptical. “I had worked with a different chiropractor before,” says Ken, “and had a bad experience. Plus, I was seeking treatment at the with a nuero-spinal specialist and I wanted to continue that course of action.” e specialist discovered Ken had herniated discs. “The specialist did a good n helping me,”says Ken. “My constant pain went from a 10 down to a 3, occasional spikes of 5 to 7...and I was very happy. But I also hoped to go er. Since my friends had great success with Dr. Harris, I decided to give him I was really impressed. Unlike the other chiropractor—who immediately to work on me and my pain got worse—Dr. Harris didn’t touch me at the appointment. He did an evaluation, asked a series of questions, and looked MRI. He really wanted to figure out and understand my situation. Then vited myself and my wife back to a consultation, where he presented his mmendations and why. That really gave me confidence that we were not ing into this blindly...that Dr. Harris truly understood my situation. He me several options for treatment, and I chose the one I could work with. e my treatment plan was even complete, my pain level was at zero...with the ional spike of maybe 0.5!” ieving pain...it’s what Dr. Harris has been doing since 1976. Today he’s der in his field, and he trains other doctors in treating herniated discs spinal decompression techniques and laser. Dr. Harris says, “As Ken has ienced, spinal disc decompression traction is a breakthrough technology sc conditions. If we can get you out of pain without drugs or surgery, it’s a hier option. With new technology and techniques, we are more effective now
than ever before.” “I know I’m not cured in the classical sense, but I truly believe that if I do what I need to do and follow Dr. Harris’ maintenance plan, I will remain pain-free,” says Ken. “I highly, highly recommend Dr. Harris. I know there is some skepticism out there about chiropractors...I even had a bad experience myself. But given my friends experience with Dr. Harris, I figured I had nothing to lose...and it turned out to be the greatest thing for my pain.”

An HCC Campus in Missouri City? Sounds great, but let’s do the math.
hen you think of Houston Community College, typically Missouri City does not come to mind. However, for the trustees and officers at HCC you can rest for sure that Missouri City has weighed heavy on their minds for quite some time now and well into the foreseeable future. In fact, HCC has burned through a substantial amount of money and a decade of time in an attempt to build up a successful satellite location in Missouri City. The school’s most recent arrangement requires taking an almost $10 million misfortune auctioning off a completely created facility in Fort Bend County and afterward will spend a least twice that amount on another school. HCC authorities say the school is just swapping an elusive rural grounds with sputtering enlistment for another simple to-access school close Missouri City
lobby. In other words, they are going for the long term investment. Very long term. Experts say that the move might turn out to be only the most recent in a string of barren wasteland bargains orchestrated by HCC authorities. HCC’s battle to assemble a Missouri City facility started in the mid-2000s when the school purchased a section of Sienna Plantation - an upscale neighborhood where authorities were convinced that a junior college could thrive. Its past site location, in a mall off Texas Parkway, had neglected to pull in the numerous understudies they hoped for. Throughout the following decade, the school burned through well over $20 million dollars on the Sienna Plantation grounds, which opened in 2008. It incorporates a close to a 50K square foot school building and a province library that the school constructed. Be that as
it may, the grounds, concealed in the conveniently manicured neighborhood, once again this investment hasn’t been as effective as authorities trusted. Only 1,000 understudies went to classes there the previous fall. In 2012, voters affirmed a $20 plus million dollar extension of the battling Sienna Plantation grounds, however the authorities soon would start wanting to spend that cash moving the grounds to another location. Records demonstrate a move was in progress as early as mid-2014. The arrangement includes offering the Sienna Plantation grounds and moving back to Texas Parkway in a confounded course of action including a private engineer, a neighborhood charitable, Fort Bend County and Missouri City. School pioneers as of now have affirmed offering 33 sections of undeveloped area

back to the area’s designer at the same cost the school paid for it in the mid2000. What’s more, Fort Bend County will get HCC’s completely created grounds working to use for office space for a steal at $8 million. The cumulative for HCC is just marginally more than half of what they put resources into the grounds. Tallying the misfortune on the Sienna Plantation grounds and the expense of purchasing land and building the new school at the new area, HCC’s sticker price for the move is more than $30 million dollars. It didn’t bode well that a grounds in Fort Bend County - one of the country’s quickest developing regions - wouldn’t flourish, particularly when more than 14,000 understudies took classes at the adjacent Stafford grounds in 2014. By August 2014, HCC authorities had chosen the move and that may be a smart decision, however they never did any attainability or cost considerations. In September, the board collectively gave the higher learning overseers power to build up an idea for a “potential” migration. It was the first of numerous votes progressing and related area exchanges by the HCC board, Missouri City committee, Fort Bend magistrates and Fort Bend voters. These are the same voters who in November gave the district authorization to utilize security cash to purchase the Sienna Plantation grounds building in the first place. Perhaps the voters are not at fault here since when it’s all added up it wasn’t a matter of who did the math, the math was never done.

TOP 5 CHEMICAL-FREE HOME CLEANING PRODUCTS YOU SHOULD BE USING FOR YOUR FAMILY, PETS, AND THE ENVIRONMENT.
id you know your home may be more toxic of an environment from harsh chemicals becoming airborne or touching your skin than outdoor pollutants? Conventional home cleaning products are comprised of fragrances, endocrine disruptors, neurotoxins, and potent cancer causing chemicals that may be actually contributing to sickness and ill health. According to the EPA (Environment Protective Agency) roughly 12 different chemicals with irritant properties are in your home at all times, up to five times as frequent as other pollutants in the air. Studies further show a link between the many types of indoor pollutants and the rise in respiratory/asthmatic problems across the board. About five years ago, I noticed that my family complained about headaches and allergy problems just after I used cleaning products. After doing research of my own, I realized the
ingredients used in these products were harmful and making my family sick. As Earth Day is around the corner, here are my top 5 all-natural alternatives to cleaning products that are good for Mother Earth, and will help keep your family and pets healthy and safe. 1. All Purpose Cleaner- Combine water and white vinegar in a spray bottle (about nine parts water and one part white vinegar) and spray the surface that needs cleaning. Adding a few drops of your favorite essential oil such as: basil, rosemary, or lavender will give your home a fresh clean smell and is good for your skin. 2. Floor Cleaner- Add hydrogen peroxide or grain alcohol to the all purpose cleaner recipe above. This combination is a perfect blend for fighting germs and maintaining cleanliness.
3. Laundry Detergent- Many brands of laundry detergents contain petroleum distillates with benzene which has been linked to cancer. Petroleum distillates also give off toxic fumes which may also provoke asthma attacks and irritate the air passages. An eco-friendly combination of washing soda, borax and coco castille soap is all you need to keep your clothes clean and fresh. 4. Rust Remover- Using Bar Keepers Friend cleanser (a natural cleanser found in most grocery stores) will remove rust stains on almost any surface. 5. Carpet Deodorizer- Sprinkle baking soda on your carpet and vacuum. Easy, effective, and afford-able!
