We would like to welcome an outstanding, enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated individual, to initially join our team to support a pupil with a diagnosis of ADHD. The post holder is required to work for 15.75 hrs per week in the first instance. The role is to support an individual pupil in Year 6, with behaviour, emotional and social needs during structured and unstructured times, as he makes the transition from ACE to Shakespeare Primary School, before preparing for secondary transition. The successful post-holder will be expected to support pupils to develop skills of independence, self-confidence and social interaction, as part of a team, as well as having high expectations of pupils’ behaviour. The ideal candidate will have an NVQ3, experience of working with pupils with challenging behaviour in upper primary schools and demonstrate a willingness to work as part of a team. Grade D (£17,802 – £20,198) pro rata Term Time 39 weeks. 26.60 hours per week, 4 days, flexible working hours for the right candidate. We are looking to appoint an outstanding School Family/Child Support Worker who is able to provide balanced and impartial information and general advice to parents. You should be able to manage your time effectively, plan events and activities and respond independently to unexpected problems and situations. This role may involve parental home visits. You should be able to promote a positive, optimistic attitude to learning and achievement within the school, acting as a role model with pupils, families and the wider community. Attendance at some evening or out of school hour events, and a close link with the Tamarfolk Children’s Centre Outreach Development Worker would be required within this role. This post involves liaison with parents around home and school based issues as appropriate. You will have an involvement with children daily. A counselling or learning mentor experience would be useful. The knowledge of CAF is important. We are looking for someone who can:• Address barriers within or surrounding the family which hinder children making progress • Improve the quality of communication between the school and home, so that parents and carers actively support the school in the maintenance of good behaviour and attendance • Support parents and pupils through school transition • Help to create a mutual regard/respect between parent and carers, pupils and teachers, through honest and open communication • Provide impartial information and support for parenting The role will be directly responsible to the Headteacher. We wish to appoint a suitable Meal Time Supervisor to ensure the provision of a secure and welcoming facility to support, encourage and supervise pupils whilst eating their meal and undertaking play activities. The successful candidate will be required to supervise all Meal Time Assistants, arrange a daily rota and delegate duties to all other MTA’s. They will also be required to ensure smooth running of mealtime arrangements and promote constructive play ideas with pupils, encourage children to eat meals provided and promote good table manners and appropriate behaviour. At the end of each lunchtime session, they will be required to ensure children return to their classrooms in a calm manner, ready to learn. Last weeks Herald Listing Plymouth Association of Primary Heads

We propose to place an advertisement in The Herald each week to point applications at The Schools’ Post Website. This will help to generate more enquires to the site and therefore increase the number of hits. There will be an additional charge for each position that is listed (The more schools that use it - the cheaper it is). The estimated cost of this additional charge ranges from £50 to £70 for each position, depending on the amount of positions advertised. A minimum of 2 positions will have to be advertised to ensure these rates can be offered.
