The Respect in Sport Parent Program is an effective and informative online training program for parents of active children. The one-hour online certification program reinforces a parent’s role in a child or youth’s activities, encouraging positive sport behaviours and providing insight into the various roles other individuals (such as coaches and officials) play. It empowers parents to ensure the safety of their children, encourage positive and effective communication,
and to enhance a child’s fun and camaraderie of the activity. The number one reason cited for coaches, managers and officials of all ages leaving a sport is unacceptable parent behaviour. Let the Respect in Sport Parent Program help assert proper parent behaviours to create a more rewarding, safe and respectful environment for all parties involved. RIS is an online training course for coaches and sport leaders and will be the equivalent to
certification received when taking a SpeakOut! course. It is designed as a tool to assist coaches in identifying and dealing with abuse, neglect, harassment and bullying in sport. The online course curriculum is broken into six (6), 30-minute modules and includes audio/ visual presentations, quizzes and printable handouts. The course can be completed at your leisure. With a focus on keeping well with aging challenges, she has increased her knowledge of healthy active living through studies in Hanna Somatics.

Wellness… SomatiKa Sharon Neufeld RMT Aging can be a series of forgetting how to move when long held pain and movement traumas are held in the body’s memory. Somatika retrains the body how to move in balance, gently without strain or pain, through slow, mindful movements. The result is a reduction of pain and an increase in function. This occurs when the soma (the body as it is aware of itself) is awakened. Amnesia in the map of the body, this happens with pain, trauma and movement patterns. This improves and can disappear, hence quality of life is better as activities increase. Other benefits include increased physical and mental wellness, decrease in anxiety, deeper sleep, relief of GI difficulties and memory. Date: Wed. Feb. 7–Mar. 28 Time: 6:30–7:30pm Cost: $65/8 weeks Location: DLCC
Massage for Couples Sharon Neufeld RMT & Tiana Macintosh RMT Relationships need connection and massage is an easy way for couples to help each other handle the stress of our busy lives. These qualities build links in relationships leading to cohesiveness and connection and increases happiness while decreasing pain. Lunch included. Date: Sat. VIX MEYER Personal Development Coach I’m often asked “What is a personal development life coach?” I assist and support individual souls to question their thoughts and their beliefs, as that is what creates our feelings and our realities. We all want to pursue happiness, and through my ups and downs, I’ve taken many personal and
spiritual routes to find out: what makes happiness!? I’ve taken many courses, and studied personal development topics for over a decade. Along the way, I’ve cultivated some practices and utilized some tools that have helped me find more joy and peace, than I ever thought possible.
My friends and family are constantly supporting me, cheering me on, and teaching me to live life more fully. I’ve been told that I have a gift in helping others find their own self-acceptance and I feel very blessed when given opportunities to share that gift with others.
