CURLING Curling is a team sport, played by two teams of four players each on a rectangular sheet of ice. The teams take turns sliding polished stones down the ice toward a target called the ‘house’. The final positions of the stones or rocks determine the score for each end of play. Curling is a great way to get out of the house, meet old friends and make new ones. Venue: North Thompson Sportsplex Period: Sessions run from October to December, and from January to March. League play: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights from 7–9pm. Drop In Wednesdays at 10am. Equipment: Curling shoes and brooms, new curlers can borrow from the club. Age: 13 years and over. Join either as an individual or make a team with your friends. New players are always welcome.

My name is Denica and I moved to Clearwater in June with my family. I grew up in a small town, and along with its beauty, outdoor activities and family orientation Clearwater offers, it felt like home very quickly. Fitness has always been a passion of mine. I love running, swimming, hiking, wellness and nutrition. I discovered Yoga 5 years ago, and it has served as a great balance, adding to my mental and physical wellbeing. I am very grateful to be able to share my passion teaching in our community.
The CRHL program welcomes Joanna Hurst: My name is Joanna and probably like you, I love food! I am fortunate enough to share my love of growing, preserving, cooking, talking about and eating food with the community as my role as the Food Security Coordinator with Yellowhead Community Services, and as the instructor for Cook It! Try It! Like It! I hope to bring a bit more awareness and appreciation for how important a nutritious diet is to every person, and to encourage the development of a vibrant, local food system. Bon Appetit!
