Kick Off with Denny's

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated , South Atlantic Region, partnered with Denny’s to provide free meals to the local community to combat food insecurity, a project that kicked off the sorority’s 70th South Atlantic Regional Conference.

Denny’s 53-foot Mobile Relief Diner, which has served more than 98,000 meals since 2017, prepared free, freshly cooked breakfast for the community from 10 am to 2 pm on Wednesday, April 26, at the Dr James R Smith Center, 1723 Bruton Boulevard, in Orlando The community was invited to dine together or pick up breakfast meals to go

As a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, "I am thrilled that Denny’s could be a part of this community initiative,” said April Kelly-Drummond, Denny’s Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. “Denny’s has always been focused on feeding people’s bodies, minds, and souls, and this project aligns perfectly with our deep-seated commitment to the communities we call home”

The event aligned with the sorority’s “Empower Our Families” initiative under the Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood international program led by AKA International President & CEO Danette Anthony Reed.

Denny’s presented the South Atlantic Region with a check for $10,000 to support scholarships and programs.
