This issue was planned before the pandemic that has changed our lives and invaded our homes, businesses, and places of worship. SIGNIS is responding. In this edition and the next, the leaders of our international member teams in different media will offer their thoughts on the crisis. In the next issue we will be reporting on COVID-19 from the perspective of our members on the ground and around the world. Meanwhile, many of us struggle with depression and a sense of despair. That is why the actual theme of this edition is so important: we believe one cause for hope is found in the next generation of communicators, the young people who commit themselves not only to professionalism, but also to a culture of peace, knowing that the road to that better world passes through Laudato Si by way of an option for the poor and giving voice to the voiceless. Their witness can help us trust what we pass through now is not the end. New leaders for God’s people are on the way.
