WELCOME and THANK YOU for Attending the 2019 BUCKEYE ALPACA FALL FEST Dear Exhibitors, Vendors and Guests, Welcome to the 2nd annual Buckeye Alpaca Fall Fest! This new show is a regional celebration of our industry, focused on welcoming and mentoring all breeders, large and small, old and new! We are continuing the integration of classes for Novice Small Breeders with our regular halter classes. This enhances the opportunity for peer groups to be judged separately yet come together for the Championship competitions. We have an extensive mentoring program with instruction on physical condition and grooming; maximizing value from your fiber; and exhibiting to the best advantage. Anthony Stachowski, DVM will examine dentistry, overall condition and soundness. Wini Labrecque, Robbie Davis, and Anne Houdek will share ideas on fiber selection, prepping and processing to maximize value. Jeff Skinner will demonstrate on how to show your alpaca to its best advantage before the judge. Several OSU Veterinary School scholarship recipients will be joining us for the weekend, and Pam Walker, DVM will return with “Ask the Vet” on Saturday to answer veterinary questions and provide direction. Saturday afternoon, Shauna Brummet, PhD., President of AOA, will update us on our national breed association. Buckeye Alpaca Fall Fest, a division of The Buckeye Alpaca Show, Inc., is a 501c3 Public Charity. Funds raised from this show have been used to establish scholarships for 3rd and 4th year veterinary students focused on Large Animal, Equine and Camelid veterinary practice. Over the past 15 years Buckeye has donated over $345,000 to programs at The Ohio State University, College of Veterinary Medicine including ICI, Research and Clinical Services Funds, and the 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018 International Camelid Health Conferences.
